  • Vikings' Alexander Mattison: Produces strong results as expected

Mattison rushed 22 times for 90 yards and a touchdown while adding three receptions for 34 yards in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Lions.

Mattison got the start in place of the injured Dalvin Cook (shoulder), doing his best impression of Minnesota's star tailback. The 23-year-old is now averaging 149.3 combined yards and two total touchdowns in the three starts he has made this season, making him a must-roster player for any games Cook is forced to miss. While the latter was technically listed as questionable leading up to Sunday's tilt, initial reports projected Cook to miss two games. The Vikings are slated to take on the Steelers on Thursday, so Mattison could get another start with such a quick turnaround.

  • Lions' Jermar Jefferson: Small role in Swift's absence

Jefferson rushed five times for 18 yards while failing to catch his lone target during Sunday's 29-27 win over the Vikings.

Jefferson technically saw an expanded role with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) sidelined, but he still took a clear backseat to Jamaal Williams, who commanded 18 touches. While it's possible that Swift misses another game in Week 14 against the Broncos, do not bet on Detroit splitting the backfield reps between Jefferson and Williams like they do between a Williams and a healthy Swift.

  • Lions' Jamaal Williams: Totals 80 yards in Swift's absence

Williams rushed 17 times for 71 yards while catching his only target for nine yards during Sunday's 29-27 win over the Vikings.

While Williams clearly operated as the lead running back in the absence of D'Andre Swift (shoulder), he was hardly used as a receiver after seeing five targets in Swift's absence last week. However, the fact that Detroit surprisingly played with a two-score lead for parts this game probably played a role in that development. With Swift seemingly in line to miss a second game in Week 14 against Denver, look for Williams to get another huge workload with more upside as a receiver than he showed against Minnesota.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Re-injures ankle Sunday

Sanders relayed after Sunday's 33-18 road win against the Jets that he re-injured the ankle that has bothered him since a Week 8 game at Las Vegas, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Sanders was forced out in the fourth quarter Sunday after hurting his right ankle at the end of a third-down catch. Prior to his exit, he paced the Eagles backfield with 24 carries for 120 yards and also hauled in all three targets for 22 yards. The original injury forced a stint on injured reserve, but with the team heading into a Week 14 bye the running back is confident he'll be ready once Philadelphia next plays Sunday, Dec. 19 against Washington. Sanders joins Jordan Howard (knee) as injured Eagles running backs, leaving Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell as the healthiest at the position on the team's active roster.

  • Colts' Nyheim Hines: Garners six touches

Hines rushed three times for 24 yards and caught three of four targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 31-0 win over the Texans.

Hines was efficient with his six touches, which included a game-long catch of 24 yards. That play helped him finish second on the Colts in receiving, but he watched fellow tailback Deon Jackson score a three-yard touchdown to end the game, missing out on an easy opportunity to add to his output. The versatile Hines now enters the bye week with difficult matchups against the Patriots and Cardinals awaiting once the Colts return to action.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: Offensive centerpiece

Montgomery rushed 21 times for 91 yards and a touchdown while posting eight receptions for 51 yards in the Bears' 33-22 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.

With the Arizona pass rush giving Andy Dalton very little time to throw, Montgomery led the Bears with nine targets, and he was effective as both a runner and receiver in a tough matchup. After failing to surpass 80 total yards while not scoring over his last three games, he recorded his highest yardage total of the season. Montgomery's weekly volume pretty much ensures he'll be a top-20 running back the rest of the way.

  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Another big performance

Taylor rushed 32 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns but lost a fumble in Sunday's 31-0 win over the Texans.

Taylor scored on Indianapolis' opening drive in both halves, finding pay dirt from one and three yards out. Despite coughing the ball up, the tailback largely took advantage of a favorable matchup, tying his season high in carries as the Colts sealed a blowout victory. Although he wasn't targeted for the first time this term, Taylor put together his seventh outing with at least 100 rushing yards, topping 140 for the fourth time. With a touchdown in 10 straight games, Taylor will strive to keep his streak going in difficult matchups against the Patriots and Cardinals once the Colts return from their bye.

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Injures ankle, not returning Sunday

Sanders won't return to Sunday's road game against the Jets due to an ankle injury.

Sanders was approaching a career high in rushing at the time of his injury in the fourth quarter, when he clutched at his ankle at the end of a third-down catch. He remained down on the Jets' sideline for a few minutes before walking back to the Eagles' bench. After examining him in the blue medical tent, Philly has opted to keep Sanders out for the remainder of the contest, likely due to all the ankle issues he's dealt with this season. With Jordan Howard (knee) inactive Sunday, the team is left with Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell in the backfield.

  • Steelers' Anthony McFarland: Inactive against Ravens

McFarland (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Baltimore, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

McFarland has bounced between being the team's third and fourth running back since being activated from injured reserve in late October. Kalen Ballage will serve as the team's third back behind Najee Harris and Benny Snell with McFarland inactive.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Active in Week 13

Homer (calf) is active for Sunday's contest versus the 49ers.

Homer practiced in full during Week 13 prep but still entered the weekend as questionable for this game. While he'll be available to the Seahawks backfield Sunday along with Adrian Peterson, Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas, Alex Collins will not be after the team made him a surprise health scratch. Peterson is expected to be the primary ballcarrier in his first action with Seattle, likely leaving scraps for Homer, Penny and Dallas.
