  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Bills' Zack Moss: Quiet Week 18

Moss carried five times for eight yards and caught two balls for six yards during Sunday's 27-10 win over the Jets.

Perhaps Moss would have gotten more work had the Bills pulled away from the Jets earlier, but it was close enough for most of the afternoon that the team stuck with hot hand Devin Singletary, who's emerged as the team's clear-cut No. 1 running back in recent weeks. At this stage, Moss is fortunate just to have separated himself from Matt Breida, but the former will be a dart throw in playoff pools even if you believe the Bills will advance. Moss finishes his second regular season with 96 carries for 345 yards and four rushing scores, which equates to a disappointing 3.6 yards per carry. He also had a modest role in the passing game with a 23-197-1 line. All in all, it was a rough sophomore campaign for the 2020 third-round pick.

  • 49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Practice limitations to continue

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that the 49ers will continue to manage Mitchell's (knee) reps on the practice field this week, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Mitchell has been bothered by a knee injury since also picking up a concussion during a Week 13 loss at Seattle. He subsequently missed the next three games, but he's been active for the past two outings, logging at least 50 percent of snaps on both occasions en route to a combined 44 touches for 215 yards from scrimmage and one receiving TD. Last week, Mitchell followed up a DNP on Wednesday with a limited session Thursday and full practice Friday before being cleared of a designation entirely for San Francisco's eventual Week 18 win at the Rams. At the very least, he appears as if he'll have some practice limitations ahead of Sunday's wild-card game in Dallas.

  • Jason Huntley RB | IND

Eagles' Jason Huntley: Promoted from practice squad

Huntley was promoted to the Eagles' active roster from the practice squad Monday.

The 23-year-old was a gameday elevation from the practice squad for Saturday's loss to the Cowboys, and he had 13 carries for 51 yards with Miles Sanders (hand), Boston Scott (illness) and Jordan Howard (unavailable). Scott and Howard are now back on the active roster, so Huntley should fill a depth role for Philadelphia's playoff run. If active for this weekend's wild-card game in Tampa Bay, Huntley will likely see most of his snaps on special teams as the Eagles' kickoff return man.

  • Lions' Jermar Jefferson: Seven game appearances as rookie

Jefferson appeared in seven games in 2021 and rushed 15 times for 74 yards with two touchdowns while catching four of five targets for 23 yards.

It took eight weeks for the seventh-round rookie to see a snap on offense. While it didn't take much longer for a golden opportunity to present itself once D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams started missing games, Jefferson first split time with Godwin Igwebuike before Craig Reynolds ultimately snagged the No. 3 running back spot from both of them. Jefferson is now no higher than No. 4 on the depth chart entering the offseason, and it doesn't seem like he'll have much of an opportunity to climb any higher considering Swift, Williams and Reynolds all remain under contract for 2022.

  • Lions' Godwin Igwebuike: Fails to catch pass on fake punt

Igwebuike was targeted once but did not record a catch during Sunday's 37-30 win over Green Bay.

Breaking a nine-game streak of seeing time on offense, Igwebuike didn't log any offensive snaps and his one opportunity to catch a pass came on a fake punt. The special-teamer will thus finish the 2021 campaign with 18 carries for 118 rushing yards and one touchdown along with seven catches on 10 targets for 60 receiving yards. While his stats may not jump off the page, it was largely a successful season for the converted safety who transitioned to running back during the offseason. Igwebuike will be an exclusive-rights free agent and has a good chance to stick around in Detroit given his usefulness on special teams.

  • Spencer Brown RB | ATL

Panthers' Spencer Brown: Remains with Carolina

Brown signed a reserve/future contract with the Panthers on Monday.

Brown appeared in one game for Carolina in 2021 and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. The rookie UDFA out of UAB will attempt to secure a roster spot in training camp for his second season.

  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Makes return from virus list

The Eagles activated Scott (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

Philadelphia returned all of its players on the virus list to the active roster ahead of Sunday's wild-card game in Tampa Bay, including three key skill-position players in Scott and Jordan Howard along with tight end Dallas Goedert. Meanwhile, No. 1 back Miles Sanders (hand) was sidelined along with Scott and Howard for the Eagles' Week 18 loss to the Cowboys, which allowed Kenneth Gainwell (12 carries for 78 yards and a touchdown, four catches for nine yards) to fill a three-down role. Sanders' status heading into the first round of the postseason this weekend isn't yet clear, but if he's not ready to go, Scott and Howard likely would share most of the carries, while Gainwell would serve as more of a change-of-pace option.

  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Three carries in season finale

Reynolds rushed three times for two yards during Sunday's 37-30 win over Green Bay.

Reynolds was in the starting lineup with fellow tailback D'Andre Swift but both ended up finishing well behind Jamaal Williams in carries. Making matters worse for Reynolds is that he only went on to log five more offensive snaps en route to a poor stat line. He'll thus finish the season with 55 carries for 230 rushing yards while catching seven of eight targets for 52 receiving yards despite not joining the active roster until Week 14. While he should remain in a complementary role next season considering he, Swift and Williams all remain under contract in 2022, Reynolds' 26-carry, 112-yard performance Week 15 at least showed that he can be a worthwhile fantasy option if the Lions ever need him to lead the backfield.

  • 49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Gains 25 yards in Week 18

Hasty had one carry for four yards and caught two of three targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win over the Rams.

Hasty served his usual third-down role with Elijah Mitchell (21-85-0) running at full strength. The 24-year-old stuck in his return/utility role on offense for the entirety of the 2021 campaign, finishing with 225 yards and a touchdown on 39 combined offensive touches across 11 active games. He will continue to spell Mitchell in the playoffs, but he won't be fantasy-relevant unless something catastrophic happens to the 49ers' backfield. Hasty should stick in San Francisco in 2022 given his familiarity with the offense and the low cost to keep him as an exclusive-rights free agent.

  • Jaguars' Dare Ogunbowale: Minor production on 14 touches

Ogunbowale had 11 carries for 30 yards and caught three of six targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 26-11 win over the Colts.

Ogunbowale played 68 percent of the offensive snaps and led Jacksonville's backfield with 14 touches, though Ryquell Armstead out-produced him with 11 touches for 62 yards. Ogunbowale took on a larger role down the stretch following injuries to James Robinson (Achilles) and Carlos Hyde (concussion), and he finished 2021 with 43 carries for 137 yards and one touchdown to go along with 13 catches for 114 yards and another score. The 27-year-old will enter next season as a restricted free agent, so he could return to the Jags in a depth role should the team tender him a contract.
