Najee Harris RB | LAC
Steelers' Najee Harris: Misses practice Tuesday
Harris (foot) isn't practicing Tuesday, Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Coach Mike Tomlin noted Monday that the Steelers' top back had his foot stepped on during practice, but indicated it "shouldn't be a major deal." With that in mind, consider Harris day-to-day. Next up on the team's backfield depth chart are Benny Snell, Anthony McFarland, Jeremy McNichols (shoulder) and Mataeo Durant.

James Robinson RB | NO
Jaguars' James Robinson: Making progress, runs routes
Robinson (Achilles) ran routes during a drill at Monday's practice, James Johnson of Jaguars Wire reports.
The Jaguars are easing the third-year pro into action after last year's Achilles tear. Coach Doug Pederson suggested Robinson could be at full strength by mid-August, which sounds optimistic but not necessarily impossible. His rehab thus far seems to have gone as well as anyone could've hoped, but fellow running back Travis Etienne has been one of the stars of training camp after missing his rookie year with a Lisfranc injury. There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding Robinson despite his strong work through two pro seasons.

Michael Carter RB | TEN
Jets' Michael Carter: Limited by minor ankle injury
Carter is dealing with a minor ankle injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
He was limited in Tuesday's practice but not held out entirely, suggesting his ankle injury isn't too much of a concern. Carter will be stuck in a backup role after the Jets drafted Breece Hall in the second round of the 2022 draft, but there will still be snaps available for the second-year UNC product, especially on passing downs.

Marlon Mack RB | ARI
Texans' Marlon Mack: Competing for role
Mack is competing with Rex Burkhead, Dameon Pierce and other running backs for roles in the Houston backfield, Drew Dougherty of houstontexans.com reports.
Pierce reportedly is making a strong impression, but it seems like a wide-open competition, and Mack is the only one with experience working as an NFL lead back. That was years ago, of course, and he's taken only 28 regular-season carries since suffering an Achilles tear in Week 1 of 2020 with the Colts. Mack did run for 908 yards and nine touchdowns in 2018 (195 carries - 4.7 YPC), followed by 1,091 yards and eight TDs in 2019 (247 carries - 4.4 YPC).

Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB | KC
Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: First through rotation
Edwards-Helaire has taken the first rep on almost every series at training camp, with Jerick McKinnon typically next through the rotation with the first-team offense, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Sweeney notes that Ronald Jones, Isiah Pacheco and Derrick Gore have mixed in "from time to time" with the starters. Edwards-Helaire was on the PUP list to start camp, but only for a day, and he's still on track for a Week 1 start for the third time in three pro seasons. There are questions about his ability to hold on to that role, with Jones providing competition for early downs and goal-line work, while McKinnon may be preferred in obvious passing situations. McKinnon outsnapped CEH three-to-one in KC's final two playoff games last season, albeit with Edwards-Helaire's ailing shoulder a considerable factor in that distribution. The 2020 first-round pick is still the favorite to lead the Chiefs in carries this year, even if the dreams of a three-down workhorse role are all but gone.

Travis Etienne RB | NO
Jaguars' Travis Etienne: Won't play Thursday
Etienne (illness) won't play in the Hall of Fame Game against the Raiders on Thursday, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Etienne and QB Trevor Lawrence are among the key players being held out. Reports on Etienne from Jacksonville beat writers have been almost universally positive this summer, but the 2021 first-round pick likely will have a limited impact this week, as he's absent Tuesday due to an illness and won't suit up in Thursday's game, per Eugene Frenette. It's unclear if the two are related, given that coach Doug Pederson also plans to rest QB Trevor Lawrence and other starters.

Rachaad White RB | WAS
Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Impresses in first week of camp
White has stood out over the first week of training camp with his size and sure hands, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
The rookie third-round pick is competing with Ke'Shawn Vaughn for the No. 2 running back job this summer, and thus far, it appears White may have the upper hand. The Arizona State alum's early success as a receiver isn't a surprise by any stretch when considering he contributed a 43-456-1 line through the air across 11 games during his final season with the Sun Devils. Given Tom Brady's extensive track record of successfully utilizing pass-catching running backs, that trait could serve White especially well in the job battle.

Alvin Kamara RB | NO
Saints' Alvin Kamara: Court date confirmed
Kamara's hearing regarding a battery charge has been rescheduled for Thursday, Sept. 29, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Earlier Monday, Terrell reported that Kamara's imminent court date was pushed back another two months to October, the third time this hearing has been delayed. Kamara faces misdemeanor and felony battery charges for an incident in early February in Las Vegas. Until the legal process plays out, the NFL likely will wait to make a decision on any sort of punishment.

Najee Harris RB | LAC
Steelers' Najee Harris: Foot issue downplayed
Coach Mike Tomlin noted that Harris' foot got stepped on during Monday's practice, but the coach added that it "shouldn't be a major deal," Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Given Tomlin's comments, we'll consider Harris day-to-day for now. Next up for Pittsburgh's backfield reps in practice as long as Harris is sidelined or limited is Benny Snell, with Anthony McFarland, Jeremy McNichols and Mataeo Durant also in the mix.

Zamir White RB | LV
Raiders' Zamir White: Back at practice
White, who missed the first two days of training camp with an undisclosed injury, has returned to practice, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Tafur adds that the 2022 fourth-rounder has impressed since returning to the field, with running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu noting of White that "he's tough, has good contact balance, and you can see the growth in a new system." Now that he's back in the mix, the Georgia product will look to carve out a role in a Raiders backfield that's currently headed by returnees Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. For now, White doesn't have a clear path to steady early-season volume, but that narrative could change down the road if he continues to impress this summer and/or either Jacobs or Drake miss time for any reason.
