J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN
Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Status for Week 1 remains unknown
Head coach Jim Harbaugh said that Wednesday's signing of Kenyan Drake isn't an indication that Dobbins (knee) won't be ready for the Ravens' regular-season opener Sept. 11 against the Jets, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. "J.K. has looked better every day," Harbaugh added. "His quickness is kind of back."
After Baltimore restored Dobbins from the active/PUP list Aug. 8, he didn't exhibit his typical burst on the field right away, but as Harbaugh noted, the third-year running back has looked more explosive in practice of late. The Ravens won't have the services of Gus Edwards (knee) for at least the first four games of the upcoming campaign, so Drake's addition can be seen more as providing depth for a team that boasts a run-heavy scheme. A better indication of Dobbins' Week 1 availability could emerge when the Ravens post injury reports, starting next Wednesday. If Dobbins ends up being limited or even ruled out for the opener, Mike Davis, Drake and Justice Hill would likely get most of the work out of the Baltimore backfield.

Aaron Shampklin RB | MIA
Cowboys' Aaron Shampklin: Shifts to injured reserve
Shampklin (ankle) reverted to the Cowboys' injured reserve list Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Raheem Blackshear RB | NYJ
Raheem Blackshear: Stays in Buffalo
Blackshear was signed to the practice squad Wednesday, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
Blackshear had such a strong preseason after being snagged as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech that the Bills are probably glad he didn't land a spot elsewhere. It's a crowded running back room in Buffalo; however, given that Taiwan Jones is almost exclusively special teams, Blackshear can currently be considered the No. 4 or No. 5 fantasy option (Duke Johnson was also signed to the practice squad) even though he's on the practice squad to start his NFL career.

Spencer Brown RB | ATL
Panthers' Spencer Brown: Reverts to IR
Brown (ankle) reverted to the Ravens' injured reserve list Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Brown sustained an ankle injury during the Panthers' second preseason game and will revert to the team's injured reserve after going unclaimed on waivers. Unless he reaches an injury settlement with Carolina, he'll be forced to miss the entire 2022 season.

The Vikings signed Koback to their practice squad Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Koback signed with the Vikings in May as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo, but he failed to make the team's initial 53-man roster. After seeing limited work during the first two exhibition games, the rookie rushed 14 times for 41 yards and a score in the preseason finale.

J.J. Taylor RB | HOU
J.J. Taylor: Added to Pats' practice squad
New England signed Taylor to its practice squad Wednesday, Mike Dussault of the Patriots' official site reports.
Rookie sixth-round pick Kevin Harris who was also cut Tuesday, will also join Taylor on New England's practice squad. Taylor and Harris will add backfield depth behind the four options currently on the 53-man roster -- Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson, Ty Montgomery and Pierre Strong. Through his first two NFL seasons, Taylor logged 42 carries for 147 yards and two touchdowns to go with five catches for 12 yards over 11 games.
