  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Sitting out Week 2

Kamara (ribs) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Buccaneers, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Kamara opened Week 2 prep with a limited session, only to end it with back-to-back absences Thursday and Friday due to a rib issue. As Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff approached, his status became more and more murky, and the Saints ultimately will keep him in street clothes. In Kamara's stead, Mark Ingram (ankle) should get the first chance to work out of the team's backfield, but he was limited in practice Wednesday through Friday. Behind Ingram, Dwayne Washington (hamstring) and Tony Jones are the next backs up for New Orleans. On a fortunate note for the Saints, Adam Schefter of ESPN relays that the team doesn't consider Kamara's injury a multi-week concern, so the 27-year-old should have a good chance at making it back in action for New Orleans' next game Sept. 25 at Carolina.

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Not expected to play

Kamara (ribs) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers but isn't expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Official confirmation of Kamara's Week 2 status will arrive upon the release of the Saints' inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Assuming Kamara ends up being out, Mark Ingram (ankle), if active, should see an expanded workload Sunday along with Tony Jones.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Ravens' Kenyan Drake: Likely to lead backfield again

Drake is expected to serve as the Ravens' lead running back Sunday against the Dolphins with J.K. Dobbins (knee) listed as questionable but considered unlikely to play, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Even though Dobbins was a full practice participant all week, the Ravens apparently want to see him log some more on-field reps before clearing him for game action. Assuming Dobbins is included among the Ravens' inactive list that will be released 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Drake will be poised to headline the Baltimore backfield for the second straight week. Despite handily outpacing Justice Hill (11 snaps) and Mike Davis (six snaps) in terms of offensive usage (31 snaps) in his Ravens debut last week against the Jets, Drake finished with just 11 carries for 31 yards and one 15-yard reception. His fantasy upside could be capped in a less favorable matchup this week against Miami.

  • Jaguars' Travis Etienne: Headed for workload split Week 2

Etienne and James Robinson are expected to split the snaps and touches out of the backfield in Sunday's game against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Game flow will likely dictate the extent to which both Etienne and Robinson are used, but the Jaguars seem content to have a roughly even timeshare in place for the second week in a row. Each back logged 31 offensive snaps in last week's loss to the Commanders, but Robinson (11 carries and one reception for 69 total yards and two touchdowns) handily outproduced Etienne (four carries and two receptions for 65 yards) from a fantasy perspective.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Workload split awaits

Robinson and Travis Etienne are expected to split the snaps and touches out of the backfield in Sunday's game against the Colts, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Game flow will likely dictate the extent to which both Robinson and Etienne are used, but the Jaguars seem content to have a roughly even timeshare in place for the second week in a row. Each back logged 31 offensive snaps in last week's loss to the Commanders, but Robinson (11 carries and one reception for 69 total yards and two touchdowns) handily outproduced Etienne (four carries and two receptions for 65 yards) from a fantasy perspective.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: On track to sit out Week 2

Dobbins (knee) remains questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, but the Ravens plan to exercise caution and hold him out from playing this week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Dobbins participated fully in practices this week and has experienced no apparent setbacks with the surgery he underwent last September on his left knee, which addressed ACL, LCL and meniscus damage in addition to damage to his hamstring. Still, the Ravens likely want to see Dobbins get in some more on-field reps before clearing him to make his season debut, which is now expected to come Week 3 at New England. The Ravens will likely officially rule Dobbins out for Sunday's contest with the release of their inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, clearing the way for Kenyan Drake to lead a backfield rotation that includes Justice Hill and Mike Davis.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Looking unlikely for Week 2

Dobbins (knee) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins and is pushing to play, but the Ravens appear unlikely to have him active Week 2, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Heading into Sunday's contest, Dobbins looks like he's trending toward not playing, though he could still have an opportunity to convince Baltimore's coaching staff during pregame warmups that he's ready to make his 2022 debut. In any case, an official word on Dobbins' status will be revealed 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Even in the event that the 2020 second-round pick is given a chance to play Sunday, he would likely be on a restricted snap count. Kenyan Drake, Mike Davis and Justice Hill are available to handle backfield snaps if Dobbins can't go.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Could see snap count

Swift (ankle), who is listed as questionable, is expected to play Sunday versus Washington but could have his role reduced, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Swift suffered an ankle sprain Week 1 but appears to be trending in the right direction to suit up Sunday, barring any setbacks. The Lions are prioritizing the star running back's health, though, so Swift could ultimately be limited and yield a greater share of opportunities than normal to Jamaal Williams. Detroit will make Swift's status official 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Jaylen Warren RB | PIT

Steelers' Jaylen Warren: Slated to work behind Harris

Warren will serve as the backup running back Sunday against the Patriots since Najee Harris will be available, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Harris suffered a foot injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's overtime win over the Bengals, and Warren logged seven yards on three carries in relief. Harris was limited in practice Wednesday but was a full participant Thursday and Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation for Week 2. While it's possible that the Steelers try to manage Harris' workload ahead of Thursday's Week 3 matchup against the Browns, Warren should operate as the clear No. 2 running back as long as Harris stays healthy.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Not expected to play Sunday

Kamara (ribs) is listed as questionable, but he isn't expected to play Sunday against the Buccaneers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Kamara was a limited participant Wednesday but didn't practice Thursday or Friday, putting him in serious doubt for Week 2. Backup RB Mark Ingram (ankle) is also questionable, but he's expected to play Sunday, so he could be in line for a hefty workload as New Orleans' top running back.
