  • Browns' Demetric Felton: Used in all phases

Felton had one carry for minus-4 yards, caught his lone target for three yards and returned two punts for 13 yards in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Jets in Week 2.

The rushing attempt was Felton's first of the season, and the target his second. He played 12 snaps on offense and 13 more on special teams. The hybrid back has been active ahead of D'Ernest Johnson for the first two games of the season, mostly due to his versatility as a wideout.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

Bears' Khalil Herbert: Five touches in Week 2

Herbert rushed four times for 38 yards and caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's 27-10 loss to Green Bay.

Herbert looked spry in limited action, but David Montgomery reestablished himself as Chicago's leading man in the backfield with 136 scrimmage yards following a shaky opener. Standalone fantasy value will be hard to come by for Herbert barring a Montgomery injury, and Herbert's likely to remain limited to change-of-pace duties in Week 3 against Houston.

  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Earns backfield split

Allgeier carried the ball 10 times for 30 yards in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Rams.

Allgeier was inactive in Week 1, but he made his regular-season debut and tied for the team lead in carries. He worked into the offense early on, tallying three carries on the team's opening drive. Allgeier didn't look particularly explosive, but he could work on early downs and around the goal line moving forward, especially while Damien Williams is on IR.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: Racks up 136 scrimmage yards

Montgomery rushed 15 times for 122 yards and caught both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 27-10 loss to Green Bay.

Montgomery struggled to get going in sloppy Week 1 conditions, but he was remarkably efficient in Week 2 considering Chicago's passing game didn't present a credible threat to the defense, as Justin Fields threw for just 70 yards. Khalil Herbert got just five touches in this one, so Montgomery's still the clear lead back for the Bears. Montgomery's role as the focal point of Chicago's run-heavy offense has him well positioned for a strong Week 3 performance against the Texans.

  • Falcons' Cordarrelle Patterson: Slips into split backfield

Patterson carried the ball 10 times for 41 yards in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Rams. He had zero catches on one target.

After handling 22 carries in Week 1, it was unclear just how heavy of a load Patterson would take on in Week 2. He split carries exactly evenly with rookie Tyler Allgeier, though Patterson worked more efficiently with his opportunity. It was always unlikely that the Falcons would treat Patterson as a true workhorse back, but the more concerning part of his usage Sunday was that he was targeted only once. If that lack of involvement in the passing game continues, Patterson's potential value to fantasy managers diminishes significantly.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Rams' Cam Akers: Regains share of backfield

Akers carried the ball 15 times for 44 yards in Sunday's 31-27 win over Atlanta. He added two receptions on three targets for 18 yards.

After earning only three rushing attempts in Week 1, Akers led the Rams' backfield with 15 carries in Week 2. He wasn't particularly efficient, as his longest rush of the day went for only 10 yards, and he gained one or fewer yards on five of his attempts. It remains to be seen how the Rams' backfield will be split moving forward, but Akers appears to have a significant role to play in it.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Takes back seat to Jones in Week 2

Dillon rushed 18 times for 61 yards and caught one of three targets for six yards in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Bears.

Dillon finished with one more touch than Aaron Jones, though the latter turned his 18 touches into 170 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. The Packers still entrusted Dillon to run out the clock down the stretch despite a botched handoff in the third quarter that led to an Aaron Rodgers fumble. Dillon has out-touched Jones 34-26 through two weeks, but Green Bay's entire running game could find room sparse in Week 3 against the stout Buccaneers front.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Two TDs in SNF win

Jones rushed 15 times for 132 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Bears. He also caught all three of his targets for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Jones gave the Packers a 10-7 lead with a 15-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter, then found the end zone again before halftime from eight yards out on a touch pass from Aaron Rodgers. A 36-yard burst put Jones over the 100-yard rushing mark early in the third quarter. Meanwhile, AJ Dillon mustered only 67 scrimmage yards on 19 touches. After being out-touched 15-8 by Dillon in Week 1, Jones seems to have restored his place as the top option in Green Bay's backfield heading into a Week 3 matchup with the stingy Tampa Bay run defense, though both running backs should continue to play sizable roles.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Broncos' Melvin Gordon: Get 11 touches in win

Gordon rushed 10 times for 47 yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's 16-9 win over the Texans.

Gordon and fellow running back Javonte Williams were in a great spot against Houston's subpar defense, though neither back was able to have a breakout performance. In fact, the entire Denver offense continued to appear stale. Gordon took a backseat to Williams on the ground and through the air, seeing five fewer rushing attempts and three fewer targets. Despite handling less touches than Williams, the 29-year-old was similarly efficient. Gordon averaged 4.7 yards per carry, which was slightly behind Williams' average of 5.0 yards per carry. Denver's coaching staff seems committed to using both backs, so Gordon should continue to see a solid share of work going forward. The value of those touches, however, will depend on whether or not the Broncos can figure out their offensive woes. Denver will have the chance to do just that when the 49ers come to town in Week 3.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Gets into end zone in win

Pollard carried the ball nine times for 43 yards and a touchdown and caught four of seven targets for 55 yards in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Bengals.

The fourth-year back led Dallas in scrimmage yards on the day, with 48 of his yards coming on consecutive plays late in the first quarter that resulted in Pollard getting into the end zone and giving the Cowboys a 14-3 lead. He appeared to be a more explosive runner than Ezekiel Elliott, something that's been a common refrain the last two seasons, but both backs could be productive in Week 3 against a Giants defense that just got gashed for 128 scrimmage yards and a 6.8 YPC by Christian McCaffrey.
