  • Boston Scott RB | PIT

Eagles' Boston Scott: Minimal impact in Week 1

Scott carried the ball once for three yards and caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's win over the Patriots.

With Miles Sanders now in Carolina and new additions D'Andre Swift (19 snaps) and Rashaad Penny (healthy scratch) not having large roles, there theoretically could have been room for Scott to make his mark. Instead, the sixth-year back saw the field for just eight offensive snaps, with Kenneth Gainwell (41 snaps) being used as the clear starter. It seems reasonable to assume Swift's role will only grow from here, and Penny's can't get any smaller, so there doesn't seem to be much room for Scott to claim a meaningful amount of touches.

  • J.K. Dobbins RB | DEN

Ravens' J.K. Dobbins: Surgery date set

Dobbins (Achilles) is scheduled to undergo surgery Friday to address his season-ending injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Dobbins suffered a season-ending Achilles tear during Sunday's win over the Texans. The 24-year-old was entering the final year of his rookie deal, and he is currently set to hit free agency at the end of the 2023 season. With Dobbins done for the year, Baltimore's backfield looks set to be led by Gus Edwards and Justice Hill, the latter of whom scored twice Week 1. Experienced veteran Melvin Gordon is also expected to be brought up from the practice squad.

  • Jake Funk RB | JAC

Colts' Jake Funk: Gets work as third RB

Funk had two carries for 10 yards and one reception for 12 yards on his only target in Sunday's loss to Jacksonville.

Funk, who was elevated from the Colts' practice squad Saturday, got playing time in the second half with Evan Hull suffering a knee injury and Deon Jackson struggling (two fumbles). Funk could have a larger role in Week 2 against the Texans if Zack Moss (arm) remains sidelined, Hull can't return and Jackson's role is reduced due to his poor outing. Funk is more likely to return to a limited depth role, especially if Moss is active.

  • Jaguars' D'Ernest Johnson: Minimal role in opener

Johnson carried once for minus-4 yards during Sunday's 31-21 win against the Colts.

The 27-year-old opened the campaign as the No. 3 running back on the depth chart, and he played just a single offensive snap in his Jaguars debut. Johnson is unlikely to have much of a role in the offense while starter Travis Etienne and top backup Tank Bigsby are healthy.

  • Falcons' Godwin Igwebuike: Plays primarily on special teams

Igwebuike played nine snaps (one offensive) and didn't record any counting stats during Sunday's 24-10 win over the Panthers.

With Cordarrelle Patterson's (thigh) availability up in the air, the Falcons signed Igwebuike to the 53-man roster off the practice squad Saturday. The undrafted rookie out of Northwestern wasn't involved offensively in Week 1, but he showed a willingness to contribute on special teams. As long as Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier are healthy, Igwebuike should remain a non-factor on offense, and he may even head back to the practice squad once Patterson clears his current injury.

  • Steelers' Anthony McFarland: Logs two touches Sunday

McFarland secured both of his targets for 11 yards during the Steelers' 30-7 loss to San Francisco on Sunday.

McFarland played just five offensive snaps during Sunday's regular-season opener, but he still managed to draw two targets in the passing game. As long as Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren are healthy this year, it should be difficult for McFarland to carve out a fantasy-relevant role.

  • Ameer Abdullah RB | JAC

Raiders' Ameer Abdullah: Targeted once Sunday

Abdullah was targeted once in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Broncos, but he finished the contest without a single touch.

Abdullah logged only seven offensive snaps while the Raiders unsurprisingly leaned on starter Josh Jacobs as the workhorse out of the backfield. Abdullah figures to continue providing relief on passing downs against the Bills in Week 2.

  • Jaylen Warren RB | PIT

Steelers' Jaylen Warren: Inefficient in opener

Warren rushed three times for six yards while securing five of six targets for 12 yards during the Steelers' 30-7 loss to San Francisco on Sunday.

Reports ahead of Sunday's regular-season opener suggested that Warren would be a factor in the Steelers' offense alongside starter Najee Harris, but neither running back was able to generate much production as the team fell behind early. While Warren was inefficient when he had the ball in his hands, he was on the field for 40 percent of Pittsburgh's offensive snaps, while Harris was on the field for 52 percent. It's unclear whether Warren's snap share will continue given his inefficient performance, but the Steelers' rushing attack will have a slightly more favorable matchup against the Browns next Monday.

  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Melvin Gordon: To come off practice squad

The Ravens plan to activate Gordon from the practice squad with J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) having suffered another season-ending injury, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.

Gordon spent training camp and the preseason in Baltimore, so he should be familiar with coordinator Todd Monken's scheme, and he'll join a backfield suddenly in serious need of quality contributors. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill look like the favorites to handle the bulk of the Ravens' carries, but Gordon could step in as the No. 3 option beginning with a Week 2 tilt against the Bengals. Undrafted rookie Keaton Mitchell (shoulder) won't be able to return from IR until Week 5 at the earliest.

  • DeeJay Dallas RB | JAC

Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: Three touches in opener

Dallas rushed twice for four yards and caught his lone target for 14 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Rams. He also returned one kickoff for 34 yards and one punt for 18 yards.

Dallas and rookie Zach Charbonnet both played 11 offensive snaps. Charbonnet finished with 11 yards on three carries. Dallas and Charbonnet are both fighting for reps behind Kenneth Walker, but Dallas isn't expected to play more than a limited number of passing downs.
