  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Colts' Zack Moss: Makes impact in season debut

Moss rushed 18 times for 88 yards and a touchdown and brought in all four targets for 19 yards in the Colts' 31-20 win over the Texans on Sunday.

Moss enjoyed a noteworthy season debut after missing Week 1 as he completed his recovery from a broken forearm suffered in training camp. The fourth-year pro picked up where he left off during his strong season-ending four-game run in 2022, and he found the end zone on a hard-charging 11-yard run early in the second quarter. Moss, who notably was the only Colts back to record a carry Sunday, has at least two more games at the top of the ground attack before Jonathan Taylor (PUP, ankle) potentially returns, which is no sure proposition considering he reportedly remains interested in being traded.

  • Lions' David Montgomery: Has thigh bruise

Coach Dan Campbell said Montgomery sustained a bruised thigh during Sunday's 37-31 overtime loss to the Seahawks, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Prior to his departure late in the third quarter, Montgomery had 16 carries for 67 yards and one touchdown, one seven-yard catch and a lost fumble. Campbell relayed that the Lions will have more information on the running back Monday, likely after Montgomery undergoes a battery of tests. If Montgomery is forced to miss any time, his replacement in Detroit's backfield will be rookie Jahmyr Gibbs, who notched 14 touches for 56 yards from scrimmage Sunday.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Finds end zone twice in win

Walker rushed 17 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns and brought in one of two targets for 11 yards in the Seahawks' 37-31 overtime win over the Lions on Sunday.

Walker encountered tough sledding on the ground against what definitely appears to be an improved Lions run defense, but he made up for it from a fantasy perspective by scoring one- and three-yard touchdowns. He's been the clear lead back in Seattle's ground attack over the first two games, and on Sunday, he outpaced rookie Zach Charbonnet by 13 carries. Walker will next set his sights on the Panthers, who'll come into town for a Week 3 matchup.

  • Justice Hill RB | BAL

Ravens' Justice Hill: Gets 14 touches in Week 2 win

Hill rushed 11 times for 41 yards and caught all three of his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bengals.

Hill finished third on the team in rushing yards behind Gus Edwards (62 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries) and Lamar Jackson (54 yards on 12 carries). All three should continue to see substantial volume on the ground in Week 3 against the Colts, and Hill's the top pass-catching option out of the backfield with J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) done for the season. Hill's averaging just 2.5 yards per carry this season compared to Edwards' 5.2.

  • Gus Edwards RB | LAC

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Leading rusher in Week 2 win

Edwards rushed 10 times for 62 yards and a touchdown but wasn't targeted in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bengals.

Edwards had one fewer carry than Justice Hill in Baltimore's first game since J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) went down for the season, but the former mustered 21 more rushing yards to lead the team. While Edwards is a non-factor in the passing game (18 career catches in 54 games), his 6-foot-1, 238-pound frame makes him an effective short-yardage back, and Edwards converted from one yard out to open the scoring in the first quarter. A near-even split with Hill moving forward would make Edwards a serviceable option if he continues to get goal-line carries, and the Ravens could go with a run-heavy approach as home favorites against the Colts in Week 3.

  • Lions' David Montgomery: Scores before leaving injured

Montgomery (thigh) rushed 16 times for 67 yards and a touchdown but lost a fumble in Sunday's 37-31 overtime loss to the Seahawks. He also caught his only target for seven yards but was subsequently carted off after being injured late in the third quarter.

Montgomery turned the ball over on Detroit's first play of the second half. After having a touchdown reception negated on the next drive, he still finished that series with a four-yard score to atone for his mistake. His next time out, though, Montgomery was twisted awkwardly after making a catch, forcing him to exit the game and not return. While it was another productive performance prior to his departure, Montgomery's status going forward is now uncertain. If he's limited or unavailable, rookie first-rounder Jahmyr Gibbs would figure to benefit from increased usage.

  • Tyler Allgeier RB | ARI

Falcons' Tyler Allgeier: Modest production in Week 2

Allgeier rushed 16 times for 48 yards during Sunday's 25-24 win over the Packers

Allgeier saw three fewer rushing attempts than Bijan Robinson, who shined with 172 scrimmage yards on 23 touches. After a stellar season opener, the red flags in Allgeier's fantasy profile were on display against the Packers. The BYU product wasn't efficient. Last week, he averaged 5.0 yards per carry versus Carolina, but he was at just 3.0 versus Green Bay. He also wasn't involved in the passing attack after logging three targets in Week 1. Allgeier will presumably continue to carve out a role in Atlanta's run-heavy offense, but he's not a strong fantasy option unless he's handling most of the red-zone work.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Modest performance in loss

Dillon rushed 15 times for 55 yards and caught his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Falcons.

Dillon started with Aaron Jones (hamstring) sidelined but only turned in a mediocre performance. The big-bodied tailback's long rush was for just eight yards and he made minimal contribution in the passing game. Along with averaging merely 2.6 yards per carry this season, Dillon has now gone six straight games without topping 4.0 yards per rush dating back to last season. He will likely return to his backup role if Jones is cleared to play in Week 3 versus the Saints.

  • Jaguars' Travis Etienne: Battles cramps late in Week 2 loss

Etienne (cramps) rushed 12 times for 40 yards and caught two of three targets for two yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to Kansas City but dealt with cramps in the fourth quarter, Mia O'Brien of the Jaguars' official site reports.

Etienne nearly enjoyed a monopoly on touches out of the backfield while in the game, as D'Ernest Johnson accounted for only one carry and one target, while Tank Bigsby didn't register a touch. If his issue was indeed related to cramping, Etienne's availability for a juicy Week 3 matchup with the Texans shouldn't be impacted, but the starting running back's practice status during the week will be worth monitoring.

  • Bijan Robinson RB | ATL

Falcons' Bijan Robinson: Shines in win over Green Bay

Robinson rushed 19 times for 124 yards and caught four of five targets for 48 yards during Sunday's 25-24 win over the Packers.

Robinson led the team in rushing attempts and rushing yards. Tyler Allgeier finished with 16 carries for 48 yards, while Desmond Ridder added 10 rushes for 39 yards. However, unlike Week 1 when the two running backs combined for all three of Atlanta's touchdowns, neither scored during the Falcons' comeback win Sunday. Robinson was clearly the more dynamic back versus Green Bay and consistently made people miss, while Allgeier bulldozed his way to yards. Regardless, the two are expected to continue splitting carries for the time being. While this limits Robinson's overall fantasy value, it does keep him fresh for when his potent playmaking ability is needed most.
