  • Melvin Gordon RB | BAL

Melvin Gordon: Reverts to practice squad

Gordon reverted to the Ravens' practice squad Monday.

Gordon was on Baltimore's active roster for the first time in Week 2 against Cincinnati but didn't see any action. With J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) out for the season and Keaton Mitchell (shoulder) on IR, the Ravens currently have just two healthy running backs on their roster. With that in mind, Gordon could certainly be elevated again for Week 3.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Return timetable TBD

Coach Brandon Staley noted Monday that there's "no timeline" on Ekeler's return from the ankle injury that sidelined him in Week 2, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

A previous report via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggested that Ekeler has a chance to return to action this weekend against the Vikings, but after missing practice all of last week, the first step toward such an outcome would be the running back returning to the field in some capacity in the coming days. In Ekeler's absence Sunday against the Titans, Joshua Kelley led the Chargers backfield, carrying 13 times for 39 yards.

  • Dwayne Washington: Returns to practice squad

Washington reverted to the Broncos' practice squad Monday.

Washington was elevated from the practice squad prior to Sunday's 35-33 loss to the Commanders. The running back was limited to just 18 snaps on special teams, failing to compile any stats, and he'll now wait for his next chance to crack the active roster this season.

  • Godwin Igwebuike: Back to practice squad

Igwebuike reverted to the Falcons' practice squad Monday.

Igwebuike was elevated from the practice squad prior to Atlanta's 25-24 win over the Packers on Sunday, joining the team's active roster for a second straight week. He logged one offensive snap and failed to garner any stats for the second game in a row. Igwebuike will now have to wait for another potential elevation down the road.

  • Tony Jones RB | ARI

Saints' Tony Jones: Could see increased usage Monday

Jones and Jamaal Williams are New Orleans' only two active running backs ahead of Monday's game at Carolina.

With regular starter Alvin Kamara still serving a suspension and Kendre Miller (hamstring) and Kirk Merritt (coach's decision) both inactive for Week 2, Jones could be in line to see an uptick in reps against the Panthers. That said, in Week 1, the Saints only gave three carries to running backs not named Williams, so Jones may not carry much fantasy relevance despite his active status.

  • Tony Jones RB | ARI

Saints' Tony Jones: Active for Monday Night Football

Jones is active for Monday's matchup against the Panthers.

Jones was elevated from the practice squad earlier in the day and will officially suit up versus Carolina. He saw just one rushing attempt in the season opener, but he's the only running back available behind Jamaal Williams on Monday.

  • Panthers' Raheem Blackshear: Inactive for Monday Night Football

Blackshear (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's matchup against the Saints, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Blackshear played exclusively on special teams during the season opener and won't suit up for Week 2. Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard are the only active running backs for Carolina on Monday, while Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Laviska Shenault will presumably have to split return duties.

  • Saints' Kendre Miller: Sitting out again Monday

Miller (hamstring) is inactive for Monday's game in Carolina.

Miller potentially put himself in a position to make his pro debut by practicing in a limited fashion during the entirety of Week 2 prep. With his lack of availability confirmed for Monday Night Football, the Saints backfield will be paced by Jamaal Williams, with the elevated Tony Jones serving as his backup with both Miller and Kirk Merritt sitting out. Miller's next chance to suit up will arrive Sunday at Green Bay.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Misses Monday's walkthrough

Barkley (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Barkley injured his right ankle in the waning minutes of Sunday's eventual 31-28 win at Arizona, needing assistance to get to the sideline and walking with a visible limp. An X-ray after the contest was returned negative, but an MRI on Monday revealed an "ordinary" sprain that may sideline him for around three weeks, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. As it stands, Barkley isn't expected to suit up for Thursday's game in San Francisco, which would leave Matt Breida to lead the Giants backfield. Behind Breida, Gary Brightwell, Eric Gray and practice-squad member Taiwan Jones are the team's other options at running back.

  • Qadree Ollison RB | PIT

Steelers' Qadree Ollison: Gets called up

Ollison was elevated from the Steelers' practice squad ahead of Monday's game against the Browns.

Ollison will be tasked with handling the team's No. 3 running back role with Anthony McFarland (knee) being placed on IR. The 2019 fifth-round selection appeared in three games with the Cowboys last season and last carried the ball in 2021 while with the Falcons.
