  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Would have been limited Monday

Coach Matt LaFleur said Jones (hamstring) would have been a limited participant Monday if the team had practiced, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Jones has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury, but the starting running back is making progress in his recovery. Green Bay didn't practice Monday after Sunday's 18-17 win over the Saints, but Jones' status on Tuesday's practice report should be a key indicator regarding his potential availability for Thursday's home game against the Lions.

  • Trey Sermon RB | PIT

Colts' Trey Sermon: Five carries in backup role

Sermon had five carries for 17 yards and one reception on two targets in Sunday's overtime win at Baltimore.

Sermon was the surprise backup to starter Zack Moss, as Deon Jackson was waived Saturday and Jake Funk was limited to just five snaps on special teams. Sermon played 18 snaps on offense. It looks like Sermon again will serve as the backup Week 4 against the Rams and then would move back to a smaller role if Jonathan Taylor (ankle) comes of the reserve/PUP list for Week 5.

  • Royce Freeman RB | CHI

Rams' Royce Freeman: Bumped up from practice squad

Freeman was elevated to the Rams' active roster ahead of Monday's game against the Bengals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Freeman was also elevated ahead of the team's Week 2 matchup with the 49ers before reverting to the practice squad last Monday. He played nine snaps on special teams while the team chose to leave rookie Zach Evans inactive. It's likely the same scenario unfolds in Week 3.

  • Broncos' Jaleel McLaughlin: Handles five carries in loss

McLaughlin rushed five times for 15 yards in Sunday's 70-20 loss to the Dolphins

McLaughlin's 13 offensive snaps and five rushes Sunday were both high-water marks for the rookie in his young career. The 23-year-old running back was unable to get much going with his limited touches, as the entire offense tried to dig itself out of a blowout throughout the contest. Despite McLaughlin's talent, he remains off the fantasy radar with such few opportunities in Denver's offense. Barring an injury to Javonte Williams or Samaje Perine, the Youngstown State product can be ignored for fantasy purposes when the Broncos visit the Bears in Week 4.

  • Zonovan Knight RB | ARI

Lions' Zonovan Knight: Receives three carries

Knight rushed three times for 13 yards during Sunday's 20-6 win over Atlanta.

Knight not only got the call to the active roster with David Montgomery (thigh) sidelined, but he logged a few carries as well and ultimately matched No. 2 running back Craig Reynolds in production. However, Jahmyr Gibbs got the vast majority of the work, and most of Knight's responsibilities still came on special teams. The NC State product is not on the fantasy radar in advance of a Week 4 road trip to Green Bay.

  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Little production in larger role

Reynolds rushed four times for 13 yards during Sunday's 20-6 win over Atlanta.

Reynolds ended up seeing 30 percent of the offensive snaps in the absence of David Montgomery (thigh) while Jahmyr Gibbs shouldered most of the rushing load. However, Detroit ended up working a third running back into the mix as well, with Zonovan Knight logging just as many rushing yards as Reynolds on one less carry and 13 fewer snaps. As it looks like Reynolds will not be a direct replacement for Montgomery, the former will be hard to trust even if Montgomery continues to miss time.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Broncos' Samaje Perine: Minimal involvement in loss

Perine rushed three times for nine yards and secured two of his three targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 70-20 loss to the Dolphins.

Perine had another disappointing outing Sunday as the Broncos fell to the Dolphins in a blowout loss. The veteran played fewer offensive snaps (19) than Javonte Williams (26), but both backs finished with two grabs on three targets in the passing game. As the season moves on, it's likely that Williams will continue to see the majority of the work out of the backfield, as the second-year rusher handled 11 carries on the ground compared to Perine's three. Going forward, it seems Perine could be difficult to trust for consistent production in an offense that is continuing to find its footing under head coach Sean Payton. The 28-year-old could have an opportunity for a bounce-back performance Week 4, when the Broncos visit the Bears and their struggling defense.

  • Ameer Abdullah RB | JAC

Raiders' Ameer Abdullah: Two catches Sunday

Abdullah caught two passes for 16 yards on three targets in Sunday's 23-18 loss to the Steelers.

Abdullah played just 12 of a possible 72 offensive snaps despite the Raiders finding themselves in catch-up mode for the entirety of the second half, while workhorse Josh Jacobs ultimately handled 17 carries to go along with three receptions on five targets out of the team's backfield. Abdullah has earned three targets in back-to-back contests, but Jacobs' significant usage figures to continue against the Chargers in Week 4.

  • Elijah Dotson RB | ATL

Chargers' Elijah Dotson: Plays single snap

Dotson played a single snap in Sunday's 28-24 win over the Vikings.

It appeared as if Dotson had a lock on the backup job behind Joshua Kelley after playing nine snaps in the Week 2 loss to the Titans, but at least for Sunday, it was Isaiah Spiller who saw a healthy amount of complementary snaps. The undrafted rookie free agent hasn't done much despite a solid preseason, one which ultimately helped him make the final 53-man roster.

  • Chargers' Isaiah Spiller: Sees second-string snaps in win

Spiller carried the ball twice for seven yards in the 28-24 win over the Vikings on Sunday.

Spiller wound up playing 16 snaps compared to Elijah Dotson's one, so for at least one game, it appears as if the 2022 fourth-round pick might have moved up the depth chart somewhat. Austin Ekeler (ankle) seems like he could be closer to returning, which would in turn bump Joshua Kelley and everyone else down a peg in terms of playing time.
