Brock Purdy QB | SF
49ers' Brock Purdy: Fully participating with starters
Purdy (elbow) is practicing with the first-team offense Monday in San Francisco's first padded practice, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Purdy rested for the last two of San Francisco's four non-padded practices, but he'll assume starting quarterback duties in training camp less than five months after having surgery to repair the UCL in his right throwing arm. Purdy tore his UCL during the NFC Championship Game against the Eagles in January. Per Kevin Patra of NFL.com, coach Kyle Shanahan has been pleased with Purdy's health and form early in training camp. "He's had no arm troubles," Shanahan said of Purdy. "He's been totally healthy. I think he's getting all his timing back, his rhythm. I was really impressed with him in his two practices."

C.J. Stroud QB | HOU
Texans' C.J. Stroud: Commanding the huddle
Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans noted Stroud's "command of the huddle" as an area of progress for the rookie quarterback, John McClain of SportsRadio 610 reports. "With college players now, a lot of it is looking to the sideline, and they see a signal or a picture, and that's their play," Ryans said. "But here, we're asking them to operate from a huddle, which is new."
Stroud continues to share first-team reps with Davis Mills, and Ryans mentioned a few areas of improvement before anointing the rookie as the No. 1. The coach referenced Stroud's footwork and progressions, which are things he's working on with coaches. Ryans made it a point to keep Stroud from being overwhelmed by giving him one thing per day to work on instead of multiple items.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Recovering from minor procedure
Richardson will miss Monday's practice after having a procedure to correct his nasal septum, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
The rookie QB practiced over the weekend and reportedly has a chance to rejoin his teammates as soon as Tuesday. The Colts have split first-team reps between Richardson and fifth-year pro Gardner Minshew through the first week of training camp, and a missed practice or two shouldn't have too much impact on their ongoing competition for the Week 1 starting assignment.

Reid Sinnett QB | CIN
Bengals' Reid Sinnett: Inks deal with Cincinnati
Sinnett signed with the Bengals on Sunday.
Sinnett worked out with the Bengals on Saturday -- along with Drew Plitt -- to fill in as the third quarterback with Joe Burrow out for several weeks with a calf strain. Sinnett had practice squad stints with the Buccaneers, Eagles and Dolphins and most recently suited up for the XFL's San Antonio Brahmas this spring. He'll slot behind Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning as a training camp quarterback while Burrow sits out.

Zach Wilson QB | NO
Jets' Zach Wilson: Will play Thursday
Head coach Robert Saleh said Wilson will play during Thursday's Hall of Fame preseason game versus Cleveland, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Saleh said he doesn't expect the starters to play at all during Thursday's game, so Wilson, who's expected to be the primary backup to Aaron Rodgers in 2023, figures to get an extended look. Tim Boyle and Chris Streveler will presumably get worked into the mix as well.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Alternates first-team reps Saturday
Richardson took first-team reps to begin the Colts' 11-on-11 sessions Saturday before he was switched out with Gardner Minshew, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Richardson got his first crack at working with the Colts' starting offense Friday after the veteran Minshew handled all of these snaps to begin training camp Wednesday. While Richardson, the 2023 No. 4 overall pick, still saw first-team reps Saturday, the two quarterbacks ultimately split starting snaps, which is in line with the rotation approach that coach Shane Steichen previously said the team would employ. It will be worth monitoring how much playing time Richardson and Minshew get with the first-team offense throughout training camp as well as the team's three preseason games.

Kyler Murray QB | MIN
Cardinals' Kyler Murray: No timeline on return
Murray said Saturday that he will take a day-by-day approach to his return from knee surgery and that he "wouldn't want to go out and hurt the team or myself" during training camp, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Murray is still recovering from a right ACL tear suffered Dec. 12, and he previously stated July 12 that his goal was to be ready to play in time for Week 1. However, his response to reporters Saturday heavily indicates that he will be rather cautious when it comes to his participation in training camp, which could make it difficult to gauge when he'll be ready to suit up again until sometime closer to the start of the regular season. The 25-year-old is eligible to practice and play in the preseason at any point after being placed on the active/PUP. In case Murray's recovery does extend beyond the start of the regular season, it could be worth monitoring how the Cardinals split practice reps and playing time between backup quarterbacks Colt McCoy, Clayton Tune, David Blough and Jeff Driskel this preseason.

Jake Luton QB | LV
Panthers' Jake Luton: Catches on with Carolina
Luton signed with the Panthers on Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Luton started three games for the Jaguars and has also spent time with the Seahawks, Dolphins and Saints. The 2020 sixth-round draft pick adds depth as the fourth quarterback for the Panthers, firmly behind Bryce Young, Andy Dalton and Matt Corral.

Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Out for 'several' weeks
Coach Zac Taylor said Friday that Burrow is expected to miss "several weeks" with a calf strain, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
The comment hints at Burrow missing most or all of training camp and the preseason but having enough time to get ready for Week 1. The quarterback strained his calf during Thursday's practice, giving him six and a half weeks to recover before a Sept. 10 home opener against the division-rival Browns. If Burrow's recovery lags, the Bengals have Trevor Siemian and Jake Browning behind him in the QB room, with Siemian being the favorite to make fill-in starts.

Clayton Tune QB | GB
Cardinals' Clayton Tune: Runs second-team offense
Tune ran Arizona's second-team offense in Thursday's practice after Colt McCoy worked with the first team, Jess Root of USA Today Cards Wire reports.
With Kyler Murray's (knee) return timetable uncertain, Tune could be poised to open his NFL career as the backup to McCoy. The rookie fifth-round pick out of Houston will need to hold off David Blough and Jeff Driskel in the competition to claim the third spot on the quarterback depth chart behind Murray and McCoy.
