Nick Mullens QB | JAC
Vikings' Nick Mullens: Dealing with back stiffness
Coach Kevin O'Connell suggested Monday that placing Mullens (back) on injured reserve is a possibility, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Mullens was inactive for Sunday's Week 5 game against the Chiefs, as he's reportedly dealing with back stiffness. Rookie Jaren Hall served as Kirk Cousins' backup versus Kansas City and figures to be the No. 2 for however long Mullens is sidelined.

Gardner Minshew QB | ARI
Colts' Gardner Minshew: Steps into starting role
Minshew will start versus the Jaguars in Week 6 with coach Shane Steichen saying Monday that Anthony Richardson (shoulder) will miss "some time," Adam Schefter of ESPNreports.
Minshew stepped up in relief of Richardson during Sunday's win over the Titans in which he completed 11 of 14 passes for 155 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He'll start Week 6 at Jacksonville at a minimum, but depending on the severity of Richardson's AC joint injury, the rookie could be a real candidate to land on IR and miss at least the next four contests. Minshew also relieved Richardson in Weeks 2 and 3, throwing a touchdown in both contests without a single interception. A proven veteran, Minshew is worth fantasy consideration in the short term for teams in need of a spot start or in leagues that field multiple QBs.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: To miss time
Coach Shane Steichen confirmed Monday that Richardson (shoulder) is dealing with an AC joint sprain and will miss "some time," Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Richardson will miss Sunday's upcoming road matchup against the Jaguars, at the very least. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the rookie signal-caller is dealing with a Grade 3 sprain that could result in him being placed on IR for a minimum of four games, though Steichen declined to verify the exact severity of Richardson's injury. Gardner Minshew will lead Indianapolis' offense until Richardson is cleared to retake the field.

Daniel Jones QB | IND
Giants' Daniel Jones: Optimism for Week 6
Head coach Brian Daboll said Monday that the Giants are optimistic that Jones (neck) will be available for Sunday's matchup against the Bills, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Jones was forced out of New York's Week 5 loss to the Dolphins in the fourth quarter, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury. The Giants have veteran backup Tyrod Taylor available in case of emergency, but as long as Jones can practice in some capacity this week, he could have a fair chance to avoid missing any game action. Through five appearances this season, Jones has thrown just two touchdowns -- both coming Week 2 versus the Cardinals -- against six interceptions.

Nathan Peterman QB | ATL
Nathan Peterman: Returns to Bears
Peterman signed with Chicago's practice squad Monday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Peterman has been let go by the Bears twice and brought back now for the third time since initial 53-man rosters were set at the end of August. The veteran quarterback should continue providing depth at the position for the team.

Mac Jones QB | SF
Patriots' Mac Jones: Remains New England's starter
Head coach Bill Belichick said after Sunday's 34-0 loss to the Saints that Jones will remain the Patriots' starting quarterback, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Though Jones -- who has turned the ball over five times in the last two weeks -- has been replaced in consecutive games by backup Bailey Zappe, Belichick didn't put all of the blame on the Patriots' struggles on offense on his starting signal-caller. In any case, as the Patriots' Week 6 road game against the Raiders approaches, Jones profiles as a risky fantasy lineup option while helming a New England attack that has combined for just three points over the course of consecutive blowout losses.

Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Browns' Deshaun Watson: Not on practice field Monday
Watson (shoulder) did not suit up alongside his teammates for Monday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Watson reportedly practiced inside while his teammates worked on the outdoor field. The quarterback missed Week 4 due to a bruised right shoulder and was expected to be healthy following Cleveland's bye, so it will be worth keeping a close eye on his official practice designation Wednesday, when the team's first official injury report of the week will come to light. Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson struggled significantly while drawing a spot start in Watson's stead in the 28-3 loss to the Ravens on Oct. 1.

Daniel Jones QB | IND
Giants' Daniel Jones: Avoids serious injury
The Giants are optimistic that Jones (neck) avoided a serious injury during Week 5's loss to the Dolphins, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Jones' status for a Week 6 matchup against the Bills is reportedly still up in the air, but the quarterback at least seems to have avoided a long-term issue. He was forced out versus Miami due to a sack taken in the fourth quarter. If Jones ends up needing to miss some time, it would fall to Tyrod Taylor to line up under center Week 6 at Buffalo.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Dealing with Grade 3 sprain
Richardson (shoulder) has received an initial injury diagnosis of a Grade 3 AC joint sprain, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Richardson is scheduled for an MRI on Monday morning to confirm the severity of his injury, but a Grade 3 sprain would likely carry a recovery timetable of a month or more. Rapoport reports that the rookie signal-caller could be headed for a stint on IR. Richardson suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Titans, getting replaced by Gardner Minshew after completing nine of 12 passing attempts for 98 yards and rushing twice for five yards. The Colts will seemingly need to turn to Minshew under center for a significant period, beginning in Week 6 versus Jacksonville.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Broncos' Russell Wilson: Throws two TDs in defeat
Wilson completed 20 of 31 pass attempts for 196 yards and two touchdowns while rushing seven times for 49 yards in Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Jets.
Wilson produced a solid fantasy line in a tough matchup despite failing to lead his team to victory. The 34-year-old didn't throw an interception, but he did lose one of Denver's three fumbles Sunday. While the Broncos remain near the league's cellar at 1-4 this season, the addition of head coach Sean Payton has at least resulted in improved play under center. Wilson has amassed 1,210 passing yards with an 11:2 TD:INT through five games, which is a marked improvement over the start he got off to last season. The veteran QB must quickly shift his focus to Kansas City for a Week 6 matchup against the defending Super Bowl champions on Thursday Night Football.
