  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Bounces back in Week 6 win

Prescott completed 21 of 30 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Cowboys' 20-17 win over the Chargers on Monday. He also rushed seven times for 40 yards and another score.

Prescott shook off the sting of a three-interception tally Week 5 against the fearsome 49ers defense to put together a season-high passing yardage total. The veteran signal-caller also posted a season-best rushing yardage tally while recording his first regular-season touchdown on the ground since Week 8 of last season on an 18-yard run in the first quarter. Prescott led a game-winning, 14-play drive late in the fourth quarter, a march that was preceded by a two-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks earlier in the period. Prescott heads into the Week 7 bye with some momentum and will next face the Rams in a Week 8 home matchup on Sunday, Oct. 29.

  • Tommy DeVito QB | NE

Tommy DeVito: Back to practice squad

DeVito reverted to the Giants' practice squad Monday.

DeVito operated as Tyrod Taylor's backup at quarterback in Sunday's narrow 14-9 loss to the Bills. If Daniel Jones (neck) is unable to go again in Week 7 versus Washington, DeVito could once again be elevated to the active roster.

  • Colts' Anthony Richardson: Season likely done

Colts owner Jim Irsay indicated Monday that Richardson's (shoulder) season is "probably" over, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The expectation last week was that Richardson would be sidelined 4-to-8 weeks due to his Grade 3 right AC joint sprain. However, there's now speculation the first-round pick could need season-ending surgery to address the issue, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Given Irsay's comments, it would seem Indy is in the camp of erring on the side of caution with its prized rookie in order for him to recover without any setbacks. Gardner Minshew will be in line to direct the offense for the rest of the season, should Richardson's campaign indeed be over.

  • P.J. Walker QB | SEA

Browns' PJ Walker: Moves back to practice squad

Walker reverted to the Browns' practice quad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Walker got the start for injured quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) on Sunday against the 49ers, completing 18 of 34 passes for 192 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while adding a rushing yard on three carries. In the course of 12 possessions, he led the Browns to one TD and four successful field goals from kicker Dustin Hopkins in an eventual 19-17 upset win. While he'll move back to the practice squad, Walker seemingly would be the top candidate to start again over rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson on Sunday at Indianapolis if Watson needs more time to recover.

  • Jake Haener QB | KC

Saints' Jake Haener: Back from suspension

The Saints reinstated Haener from suspension Monday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.

Haener will return to the Saints after completing his six-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. The rookie looks set to serve as a third- or fourth-string option at quarterback behind the likes of Derek Carr, Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill and will likely be a regular on the inactive list.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: May miss time due to ankle injury

Tannehill likely suffered a right high-ankle sprain during Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Ravens and may miss some time as a result, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Tannehill sprained his right ankle Week 7 last season and missed the next two games. While he was able to return Week 10 and make six more starts, he continued to be listed with an ankle injury on practice reports before undergoing surgery and missing the final three contests. Coach Mike Vrabel told Joe Rexrode of The Athletic that Tannehill is dealing with a similar issue to the one he tended to in 2022, so even with a Week 7 bye on tap, the quarterback may be in danger of sitting out Week 8 against the Falcons and potentially beyond that point. If Tannehill requires time on the sideline, second-year pro Malik Willis and rookie second-round pick Will Levis will be the candidates to take on signal-caller duties for the Titans.

  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

Cowboys' Trey Lance: Emergency QB again

Lance (coach's decision) is again listed as inactive for Monday's game against the Chargers, but he is also designated as the Cowboys' emergency quarterback, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Lance will continue doing what he has for every other contest this season and serve as Dallas' emergency option under center should both Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush get forced out due to injury. He has not been called upon yet this season.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Ankle injury similar to last year

Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that Tannehill's ankle injury is similar to the one he suffered in 2022, Joe Rexrode of The Athletic reports.

Tannehill missed the final three games last season. He was on crutches following Sunday's loss to the Ravens in London, but the Titans now have a Week 7 bye. Vrabel confirmed Tannehill will remain the team's starter when healthy. If Tannehill can't play in two weeks versus Atlanta, either Malik Willis or rookie Will Levis will make the start.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

    Bills' Josh Allen: Considered day-to-day

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Allen (shoulder) is considered day-to-day, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Allen missed a couple snaps in Sunday night's Week 6 win over the Giants to be checked for a head injury but quickly returned after being cleared and finished 19-for-30 passing for a season-low 169 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Apparently the shoulder is the bigger concern (though perhaps only a minor one)following the game. He rushed just two times for 11 yards. Allen is expected to be out there Sunday against the Patriots.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Feels better, hopes to play Week 7

Jones noted following Sunday's loss to Buffalo that his injured neck feels "a lot better" and that he is trying to be ready to play Week 7 versus Washington, Darryl Slater of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Jones injured his neck in the fourth quarter of a Week 5 loss to Miami and wasn't able to practice at all last week. The quarterback told Slater that he's "doing everything [he] can" to be ready for Sunday's game, though it bears mentioning that both Jones and head coach Brian Daboll expressed optimism early last week that he'd be able to take the field versus Buffalo this past Sunday, which didn't come particularly close to happening. The level of Jones' participation in practice this week should provide insight into his chances of playing Week 7. If Jones is forced to miss that contest, Tyrod Taylor again would step in as the starting signal-caller for a Giants team desperately in need of a win.
