Rodgers said Monday on Pardon My Take that he likes the idea of playing two more seasons but isn't yet sure about anything beyond 2024, Henry McKenna of FOX Sports reports.

Rodgers mentioned wanting to play at least two more years after he was traded to the Jets last offseason, but he couldn't anticipate at the time that his first campaign would last just four snaps. He came back from an Achilles' tear and participated in a majority of the team's practices this spring, with the exception being an absence for June minicamp that the Jets were informed of ahead of time. Rodgers is back with his teammates for the start of training camp, leading an offense that made some big changes this offseason -- namely the additions of tackles Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses and Olu Fashanu to protect the veteran quarterback, as well as wideouts Mike Williams (knee) and 2024 third-round pick Malachi Corley.

Coach Dan Quinn said Tuesday that Daniels and Marcus Mariota are splitting first-team reps to begin training camp, Albert Breer of SI.com reports.

"When [Daniels] is ready, we'll know," Quinn said. During June minicamp it was Daniels, the second overall pick in the 2024 draft, who received most of the first-team reps, but it sounds as though the Commanders want him to now earn the starting job. All things considered, it would come as a surprise if Mariota and not Daniels opened the season under center for Washington, but the team has yet to name a Week 1 starter, and it could take until the preseason before clarity on the quarterback competition is provided. Daniels may need some time to fully acclimate to the aerial components of offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury's scheme, but even if he's rough around the edges early on, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner projects as a high-upside fantasy option right off the bat due to his tremendous dual-threat ability.

Head coach Jerod Mayo said Tuesday that Maye will have a chance to earn the Week 1 starting job, even though Jacoby Brissett is viewed as the Patriots' No. 1 quarterback, Chris Mason of MassLive.com reports.

"If [Maye] comes out here and he lights it up... it could absolutely happen," Mayo said, before adding that Bailey Zappe or Joe Milton could also win the job if they play well enough this summer. It's a lot of coach-speak, but the main point seems to be that Brissett will get most of the first-team reps early in training camp. Mayo also denied that concerns about the New England offensive line could factor into the QB decision, which is what you'd expect him to say publicly even if it isn't true. That said, Maye's status as the third overall pick in this year's draft means he'll almost certainly make starts at some point this season, even if the O-line struggles or other circumstances make immediate success unlikely.

Patriots coach Jerod Mayo reiterated Tuesday that Brissett is viewed as the team's starting quarterback, Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston reports.

Mayo said, "I don't think there's any doubt," when reporters asked him about Brissett's standing at the top of the depth chart at the beginning of training camp. No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye will almost certainly get playing time this season, and possibly sooner rather than later, but the combination of a shaky offensive line and a veteran alternative at QB could inspire the Patriots to be more patient than other franchises might be with a top-five pick. The two guys drafted ahead of Maye this spring, Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, appear well on their way to Week 1 starts.

The Buccaneers placed Annexstad (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Annexstad can be activated at any point throughout training camp or the preseason, once able to practice. The nature of his injury remains undisclosed. When ready to practice, the undrafted rookie out of Iliinois State will be competing for a chance to stick around in a deep reserve role for Tampa Bay.

Jackson (illness) remained sidelined at practice Monday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Jackson was also unavailable for Sunday's session. In his continued absence a day later, Josh Johnson once again will handle the Ravens' first-team QB reps.

Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Burrow (wrist) has been cleared for full contact to begin training camp, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Burrow has spent the offseason cautiously managing his surgically repaired right wrist, and back in June he declined to put a specific percentage on his rehab process. Even if the Bengals still end up giving Burrow rest days during camp and/or the preseason, he's been cleared for all activities save contact since May, so this represents the last substantial step in his recovery ahead of Week 1. With Burrow at full strength, he and top wideouts Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins -- the latter of whom will play on the franchise tag for 2024 -- are well positioned to bounce back and lead what should be one of the league's best passing offenses. Cincinnati added a rookie third-round pick with 4.45 speed in Jermaine Burton during April's draft, plus TE Mike Gesicki in free agency, both of whom could help Burrow better threaten opposing defenses downfield. Burrow's YPA across 10 games in 2023 sat at a career-low 6.3, but he figures to improve on that mark in the 2024 campaign.

Love's representatives have informed the Packers that he won't practice until he has a contract extension, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst revealed the information Monday and said he's optimistic an extension will get done soon. In the meantime, Love is present for training camp and taking part in meetings, which suggests his absence from practice is a matter of caution more so than reflecting any frustration with ongoing negotiations. It sounds like the Packers expect to complete a deal and get Love back on the practice field soon.

Jackson won't practice Sunday and was sent home from training camp due to an illness.

Sunday is the first day of Baltimore's training camp, and the team's star quarterback won't participate due to an illness. The severity of the issue isn't clear, but it seems unlikely that Jackson's status for Week 1 is in jeopardy.

Travis (ankle) was placed on the active/non-football injury list by the Jets on Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Travis can return to practice at any point since he was put on the list before training camp started. Once the rookie fifth-round selection returns to the field, he's slated to work behind veteran quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor.
