Patriots rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo replaced Tom Brady in the fourth quarter of Monday's blowout loss and played well, completing 6 of 7 throws for 70 yards and a touchdown. It was Garoppolo's first action this season.

Garoppolo's first NFL throw was a 5-yard completion to Julian Edelman. On the same drive he found Brandon LaFell for 37 yards, then tight end Rob Gronkowski for a 13-yard touchdown.

Garoppolo and the Pats host Cincinnati on Sunday night.

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who sprained his ankle Sunday, did not practice Monday as Minnesota began preparing for Thursday's visit to Green Bay. The Vikings are hopeful Bridgewater will play, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy says he expects to face Bridgewater.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford received treatment on his throwing arm and was seen limping after Sunday's game against the Jets. However, coach Jim Caldwell said Monday those injuries were nothing out of the ordinary, according to The Detroit News.

"He's OK," Caldwell said of the quarterback. "The game is a physical game, a lot of contact and, as you well know, collisions out there. So guys are going to sometimes come out of those games pretty sore from time to time. I doubt that there's anybody in this building that has played 65 plays like he played that doesn't come out of there with some issues."

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said the MRI on quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's ankle came back clean. He added Bridgewater is doing a lot better Monday and the team remains hopeful the rookie quarterback will be ready to play Thursday against the Packers. 

Bridgewater was injured during Sunday's win against the Falcons. He threw for 317 yards before leaving the game.

The Browns are not ready to make a change at quarterback coming off their Week 4 bye, according to NFL.com. The Browns aren't ready to turn to rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel and will stay with veteran Brian Hoyer as the starter heading into Week 5 at Tennessee.

Rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was the talk of the league after leading the Vikings to 558 yards of offense against the Falcons in Week 4, but I think the two things we have to keep in mind as Fantasy owners are that the Falcons have allowed 450-plus yards of offense in three of their four games and that quarterback isn't exactly a position of need.

That's why I'm kind of relieved Bridgewater left early with a sprained ankle. Though the injury didn't appear serious, it'll make Fantasy owners think twice before claiming him off waivers.

Which isn't to say he can't be a serviceable Fantasy option. He certainly has talent, and his rushing ability is a nice bonus. But who in your league honestly needs a quarterback? Nick Foles is 13th at the position in standard scoring right now, and Ben Roethlisberger is 14th. Are you starting Bridgewater over either of them? And Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton and Tom Brady are even further down the list.

And again, you can't expect these kinds of numbers from a rookie every week. He was an unknown going against one of the league's most porous defenses. Once superior defenses that have a better idea how to game plan for him, he'll take his lumps.

In two-quarterback leagues or leagues with 16-plus teams, he obviously needs to be owned, but otherwise, I'm waiting to see more.

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater picked up a win in his first start Week 4 against the Falcons.

Bridgewater completed 19 of 30 passes for 317 yards. He did not turn the ball over during the contest. Bridgewater also had five rushes for 27 yards, including a 13 yard score. Jarius Wright wound up being Bridgewater's go-to receiver during the contest. Wright had 132 yards on eight catches. Both figures led the team. Bridgewater injured his ankle late in the contest, and was briefly replaced by Christian Ponder. X-rays came back negative, and it's unclear if Bridgewater will be able to go Week 5 against the Packers.

Bridgewater was carted off the field, and immediately taken for X-rays. The Vikings play Thursday, and it's unclear if Bridgewater will be healthy enough to play. Christian Ponder came in to replace Bridgewater. 

The Cowboys declared quarterback Dustin Vaughan, cornerback Tyler Patmon, linebacker Korey Toomer, defensive tackles Davon Coleman (knee) and Terrell McClain (concussion), offensive tackle Donald Hawkins and defensive end Lavar Edwards inactive for Sunday night's game against New Orleans.

Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr told reporters he suffered an MCL sprain and a high-ankle sprain in a 38-14 Week 4 loss to the Dolphins, per CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.

Carr sustained the injury in the third quarter and was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation. Matt McGloin filled in for him, passing for 129 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions.

The Raiders will have a bye week before returning to action in Week 6 at home against the Chargers. At this point, it's too early to determine if the rookie will be available to play. If he can't suit up, McGloin and Matt Schaub are likely candidates to start in his place.
