Interim coach Anthony Lynn says Taylor (groin, team decision) is expected to be inactive Sunday for the finale at the Jets, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW reports.

The Bills would face some major salary issues if Taylor played and suffered a serious injury in Sunday's meaningless game, so the prudent move is to sit him out and make a further evaluation of EJ Manuel. Consider this your last reminder to sit Taylor if his big Week 16 game -- 329 passing yards and three TD passes, plus 60 yards on the ground -- put you in a Week 17 fantasy championship game.

Prescott will start Sunday's game at Philadelphia, but his snap count may be limited, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

The Cowboys have secured the No. 1 seed on the NFC side of the bracket, so holding out or minimizing the potential for injury to one of their key players is a prudent one. Further factoring into the decision to remove Prescott at some point Sunday is the expected absence of All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith, who is tending to a sprained MCL. If (or when) Prescott is pulled, Mark Sanchez is slated to receive the remaining snaps under center, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. No matter how the QB reps break down, though, Tony Romo isn't expected to take the field.

Taylor will see a specialist in Philadelphia in the coming days to determine whether his core muscle injury will require surgery, NFL.com reports.

Taylor, who will not start in Week 17, was rested at Thursday's practice and has reportedly been dealing with a groin injury of late. It has now come to light that Taylor will meet with Dr. William Myers in Philadelphia in order to determine the severity of Taylor's injury. According to NFL.com, the surgery Taylor would undergo would carry a recovery time of upwards of six weeks.

Taylor was given "a veteran's day off" at practice Thursday.

Taylor, who has been nursing a groin injury, practiced fully Wednesday, but was rested Thursday. In any case, Taylor is not in the Bills' Week 17 starting mix, with fellow QB EJ Manuel having been handed the reins on that front for Sunday's season finale against the Jets.

Petty (shoulder) is scheduled to have surgery next week, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.

Petty was placed on injured reserve Monday after tearing a labrum in his left shoulder during Saturday's loss to the Patriots. Look for more updates on his status to come once the surgery is finished. The Jets will now turn their focus to Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is slated to start Sunday's season finale against the Bills.

Savage was a full participant at Wednesday's practice, but showed up on the injury report with a knee injury.

Savage took a licking in last week's win over the Bengals, with one hit in particular leaving him limping around for a couple of plays. The third-year quarterback out of Pitt is expected to make his second straight start Sunday against the Titans.

Jones confirmed that he took backup quarterback reps in Wednesday's practice, meaning he's expected to suit up and be the No. 2 quarterback behind EJ Manuel this week at the Jets, BuffaloBills.com reports.

This doesn't mean much from a fantasy perspective, though we suppose the Bills could give Jones a few looks in a meaningless game so they can continue to evaluate his future in Buffalo, just like they're doing with Manuel.

The surgery on Mariota's fractured fibula was completed Wednesday and considered a success.

Mariota was carted off the field during Saturday's game in Jacksonville with an air cast on his lower right leg. Further testing revealed a fractured fibula and the quarterback was slapped with a 4-to-5 month timetable for rehabilitation. Now that surgery is out of the way, Mariota will look to avoid any and all setbacks in order to return in time for late-May OTAs.

Stafford doesn't blame the dislocated middle finger on his throwing hand for his recent struggles on the field, The Detroit Free Press reports.

Stafford was one of the most efficient signal callers in the game for the first three quarters of the season, but dislocated his middle finger in Week 13 versus the Bears and hasn't been the same. He's mustered a sub-par 1:4 TD:INT ratio since suffering the injury and hasn't tossed a score in two games. Therefore, it appears Stafford is not being fully truthful regarding whether the finger has been adversely affecting his play, which wouldn't be far-fetched considering the appendage belongs to his throwing hand. Thankfully, Stafford won't be playing in the cold this weekend (which often requires extra grip strength to hang onto the football) as the Lions season finale Sunday versus Green Bay -- with the NFC North crown on the line -- will be played indoors in the confines of Detroit's Ford Field.

Though Siemian will start Sunday's season finale against the Raiders, fellow QB Paxton Lynch is also in line to play in the contest, 9NEWS.com reports.

The 8-7 Broncos are eliminated from playoff contention, setting the stage for the team to get one last look at both signal-callers before heading into the offseason. With an uncertain amount of work on tap Sunday, Siemian is a risky roll in Week 17, even in the deepest of fantasy formats.
