  • Zach Wilson QB | NO

Jets' Zach Wilson: Not ready for game action

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wilson (knee) won't be active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Confirming multiple reports from earlier Wednesday, Saleh said Mike White -- who started the past three games in place of an injured Wilson -- is slated back up Joe Flacco on Sunday. Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record relays that Wilson, who is still working back from a PCL sprain of his right knee, is viewed as day-to-day and could reclaim starting duties as soon as Week 12 in Houston if he continues to make solid progress in practices. Per Eric Allen of the team's official site, the Jets plan to have Wilson practice in a limited fashion this week, with Saleh noting that the rookie quarterback hasn't suffered any setbacks since returning to practice Week 10 but is not yet 100 percent healthy.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Held out with oblique injury

Goff (oblique) isn't practicing Wednesday, Chris Burke of The Athletic reports.

Goff never exited Sunday's 16-16 tie with Pittsburgh after injuring his oblique in the first quarter, but he'll cede the first-string offense to Tim Boyle (thumb) for at least one practice heading into Week 11. Goff said after Sunday's game that he didn't expect to miss time, and a return to practice Thursday or Friday would put him on track to start Sunday's game in Cleveland.

  • Mike White QB | CAR

Jets' Mike White: Not starting Week 11

White won't start Sunday's game against the Dolphins, as the Jets instead are planning to have Joe Flacco step in at quarterback, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

After throwing for three touchdowns and amassing 405 yards through the air in his first NFL start Week 8 in the Jets' upset win over the Bengals, White had an injury-shortened start against the Colts in Week 9, then returned Week 10 to complete only 24 of 44 pass attempts while tossing four interceptions in a blowout loss to the Bills. The turnover-prone outing was the final nail in the coffin for White, who had been expected to lose his starting job as soon as rookie first-round pick Zach Wilson (knee) was ready to return to the lineup. The Jets believe that Wilson will need at least another week to get back to 100 percent, but White's relative inexperience along with a matchup versus a blitz-happy Dolphins defense that features plenty of secondary talent left the coaching staff convinced that the 36-year-old Flacco was the team's best option for Week 11. Assuming Wilson is ready to go for a Week 12 matchup in Houston, White likely will drop to third on the depth chart behind both Wilson and Flacco.

  • Tim Boyle QB | TEN

Lions' Tim Boyle: Will be No. 2 QB when activated

Coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday that Boyle (thumb) will be the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart when he is activated from injured reserve, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Boyle underwent thumb surgery Aug. 30 and has been on injured reserve since the start of the regular season. He was designated to return ahead of Week 10, but he remained inactive, as David Blough operated as the backup to Jared Goff. However, Campbell's comments made it clear that the backup gig is Boyle's when he is officially added to the active roster, which could prove meaningful as Goff is currently battling an oblique injury.

  • Zach Wilson QB | NO

Jets' Zach Wilson: Not in line to start Week 11

Wilson won't be available to start Sunday's game against the Dolphins, as the Jets aren't confident he's completely recovered from the PCL sprain of his right knee he suffered Week 7, Brian Costello of The New York Post reports. Joe Flacco will draw the start at quarterback Week 11.

After a two-week layoff, Wilson resumed practicing last week and even turned in a full workout Friday, only to be included on the inactive list for the team's loss to the Bills while the Jets went with starter Mike White and Flacco as their two active quarterbacks. With another week of practice on tap, Wilson was expected to be ready to return to action against Miami, but the Jets apparently aren't convinced the rookie is 100 percent and are inclined to hold him out for a fourth consecutive game. Though White -- who started the past three games -- will cede the job to Flacco after throwing four interceptions in the blowout loss to the Bills, he could still fill the backup role against Miami if the Jets don't want to make Wilson available in an emergency.

  • Shane Buechele QB | BUF

Chiefs' Shane Buechele: Signed to active roster

The Chiefs signed Buechele from their practice squad to their 53-man roster Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Patrick Mahomes and Chad Henne are both healthy, so on the surface this comes as a surprising move. However, Yates reports that the Cardinals -- who currently have injuries to Kyler Murray (ankle) and Colt McCoy (pectoral) -- attempted to sign Buechele to their active roster, so the Chiefs are merely protecting their practice squad quarterback.

  • 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Throws two touchdowns

Garoppolo completed 15 of 19 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 31-10 win over the Rams.

Garoppolo was a perfect 8-for-8 in the first half, with an eight-yard touchdown pass to George Kittle opening the scoring. The signal-caller remained efficient after halftime, then delivered the dagger with a 40-yard touchdown to Deebo Samuel on a fourth-and-six play to start the fourth quarter. Garoppolo has now played well in back-to-back wins, heading into Week 11's matchup versus the Jaguars with solid momentum.

  • Jake Luton QB | LV

Jake Luton: Cut loose by Seattle

Luton was released from the Seahawks practice squad Monday, John Boyle of Seahawks.com reports.

Luton was dropped from the practice squad to make room for the addition of Tyler Mabry. Now that Russell Wilson is back from injury, the Seahawks no longer have a need for another quarterback behind Wilson, Geno Smith and Jacob Eason.

  • Rams' Matthew Stafford: Picked off twice in loss

Stafford completed 26 of 41 passes for 243 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in Monday night's 31-10 loss to the 49ers.

Stafford was picked on a deep ball to start the game, then saw a drop turn into an interception returned for a touchdown on the next drive. Although more drops slowed him over the course of the game, Stafford also flirted with a couple other interceptions. The sudden injury absence of wideout Robert Woods (knee) impacted the Rams' game plan, but Stafford also struggled in his last outing before Woods got hurt, and the QB has thrown four picks in those primetime defeats. Fortunately, Los Angeles now enters its bye week, which should not only give new signing Odell Beckham time to familiarize himself with the offense, but also afford Stafford an opportunity to regather himself prior to facing the Packers in Week 12.

  • Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN

Bills' Mitchell Trubisky: Makes return from COVID-19 list

The Bills activated Trubisky (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

Sidelined for the Bills' past two games after testing positive for the virus Nov. 6, Trubisky looks poised to turn in a full week of practice and reclaim backup duties behind starting signal-caller Josh Allen in Sunday's game against the Colts. Davis Webb served as Allen's understudy in the Bills' 45-17 win over the Jets in Week 10 and took a couple of kneel downs at the end of the blowout victory.
