Trey Lance QB | LAC
49ers' Trey Lance: Not playing this weekend
Lance and most other starters will be held out of Saturday's preseason game against Minnesota, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Nate Sudfeld figures to start at QB with the Niners resting most of their key players. Lance did well in the preseason opener with four completions for 92 yards and a TD on five pass attempts. George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk are among the other 49ers considered highly unlikely to play Saturday night.

Kirk Cousins QB | LV
Vikings' Kirk Cousins: Not playing Saturday
Cousins and most other starters are not expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the 49ers.
The list also includes RB Dalvin Cook and each of the team's top three wide receivers (Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, K.J. Osborn). With Cousins out, Sean Mannion and Kellen Mond are Minnesota's two options under center.

Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Likely playing Saturday
Tagovailoa is expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
The Dolphins have a few big names sitting out, including WR Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed), LT Terron Armstead and CB Xavien Howard. On the other hand, Tagovailoa and WR Tyreek Hill aren't listed among the names not expected to play, suggesting they'll suit up and take some snaps together for the first time outside a practice setting.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Not in line to play
Malik Willis will fill in for Tannehill as Tennessee's starting QB for Saturday's preseason game against Tampa Bay, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Tannehill will be held out for a second straight week and may not play at all this preseason. He'll be working with a revamped receiving corps whenever he does see the field, as the Titans swapped out WR A.J. Brown and TE Anthony Firkser for WRs Robert Woods (knee) and Treylon Burks and TE Austin Hooper.

Malik Willis QB | MIA
Titans' Malik Willis: Starting Saturday night
Willis will start at quarterback in Saturday's preseason game against Tampa Bay, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Willis had an up-and-down pro debut in Baltimore last week, mixing highlights with questionable decisions. Coach Mike Vrabel criticized the rookie for scrambling around too much, but Willis nonetheless will play ahead of Logan Woodside again Saturday night.

Matt Corral QB | MIN
Panthers' Matt Corral: Diagnosed with Lisfranc injury
Corral has a Lisfranc injury in his left foot, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Newton suggests it could be a season-ending injury after coach Matt Rhule used the term "significant." Corral, a rookie third-round pick, was expected to be the Panthers' No. 3 QB before he hurt his foot during Friday's preseason loss to New England. He struggled in his two appearances this preseason, completing 10 of 24 passes for 69 yards. P.J. Walker now has a much better shot to stick with the Panthers behind Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Impressive in preseason showing
Allen completed three of three pass attempts for 45 yards and one touchdown in Buffalo's preseason game against Denver on Saturday.
Allen's 28-yard touchdown pass to Gabriel Davis was a classic Allen play -- extending the play from the pass rush before firing off a downfield strike with barely any setup time. The Bills offense by all accounts is a well-tuned machine with a variety of weapons to make the most of Allen's abilities, giving him a strong chance to go three years in a row as the top fantasy football quarterback.

John Wolford QB | MIN
Rams' John Wolford: Middling preseason debut
Wolford completed 14 of 22 passes for 142 yards in Friday's 24-20 preseason loss to the Texans. He also rushed four times for seven yards.
Wolford's position as the primary backup to Matthew Stafford became tenuous last week after Bryce Perkins had a breakout performance against the Chargers. Neither Wolford nor Perkins did much to move the needle against the Texans, as Wolford's attempts to put together a consistent drive were stopped by a whopping five sacks over his two quarters of in-game action. Wolford will have one last chance to showcase his talents next Saturday during the Rams' final preseason game against the Bengals.

Davis Mills QB | HOU
Texans' Davis Mills: Plays first half Friday
Mills completed 10 of 17 passes for 96 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in the Texans' 24-20 preseason win over the Rams on Friday night. He also committed a fumble recovered by Houston.
The second-year signal-caller started and played the entire first half, connecting with Nico Collins on an 18-yard touchdown pass with one second before halftime for Houston's only points over the first two quarters. While Mills didn't turn the ball over, his performance was far from remarkable, but there's no immediate threat to his chances of opening the season as the starter. Having logged action in the Texans' first two preseason contests, it remains to be seen if Mills will get any sort of final tune-up in Thursday night's home exhibition finale against the 49ers.
