  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Makes two of two field goals

Fairbairn converted both field-goal attempts in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. He also converted both extra-point attempts.

Fairbairn made both field-goal attempts, a 42-yarder and a 36-yarder, despite being sidelined much of the preseason with a right leg injury. The second-year kicker will attempt to continue his perfect streak against the Titans on Sunday.

  • Vikings' Daniel Carlson: Perfect in pro debut

Carlson converted his only field-goal attempt -- from 48 yards -- and made both extra-point attempts in Sunday's win over the 49ers.

After missing two field goals in one preseason game, Carlson caused some frayed nerves among Minnesota coaches. He was perfect in his pro debut, but the 2018 fifth-round draft pick may not have a lot of job security should he slump.

  • Chargers' Caleb Sturgis: Misses final field-goal attempt

Sturgis made two of his three field-goal attempts and did not attempt any extra points in Sunday's 38-28 loss to the Chiefs.

Sturgis' missed field goal essentially sealed the Chargers fate as the 48-yard kick sailed wide left with the team trailing by 10 with just over one minute left to play. It was a little odd to see the veteran kicker not even attempt an extra point, particularly since the Chargers scored 28 points, but that was due in large part to game script as the team trailed by 19 points entering the fourth quarter.

  • Steelers' Chris Boswell: Missed FG results in tie

Boswell converted all three extra points but missed his lone field-goal attempt in Sunday's 21-21 tie against the Browns.

Awful weather conditions and numerous turnovers limited Boswell's scoring opportunities all game. Still, he had a chance to win in overtime, only to push a 42-yard attempt wide left with 1:44 remaining. Boswell's fantasy value is volume dependent, which typically isn't an issue for the explosive Pittsburgh offense, but he'll face a tough opponent when they host Kansas City in Week 2.

  • Jake Elliott K | PHI

Eagles' Jake Elliott: Good on lone attempt in win

Elliott made his only field-goal attempt in Thursday's 18-12 win over the Falcons. He also added one extra point.

Elliott got the champs on the board with a 26-yard boot in the second quarter and unfortunately wasn't called on again. The second-year kicker had a bit of an inconsistent preseason, although there was no sign of that in his limited opportunities Thursday night. Unless Nick Foles can right the ship, the Memphis product may continue to want for field-goal chances until Carson Wentz (knee) returns to action, which latest reports indicate may not happen for several weeks.

  • Matt Bryant K | ATL

Falcons' Matt Bryant: Converts on two field-goal tries

Bryant was 2-for-2 in field-goal attempts in Thursday's 18-12 loss to Philadelphia, but he missed on an important fourth-quarter PAT.

The 18-year veteran got on the board early in Atlanta's season opener, putting a 21-yard attempt through the uprights on the Falcons' second drive of the night. Later in the half, the ageless wonder placed a 52-yard attempt right down the middle to provide Atlanta with a 6-3 lead late in the second quarter. In the fourth quarter, however, Bryant banged an extra-point try off the right upright, keeping the Falcons' lead at two points for the time being in what would eventually be a one-possession loss.

  • Jason Myers K | SEA

Jets' Jason Myers: Will start Sunday

Myers will serve as the team's starting kicker versus the Lions on Sunday, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

Myers beat out Taylor Bertolet for the starting kicker job in the preseason. Additionally, he appears to have kept free agents Dan Bailey and Roberto Aguayo at bay, given that both worked out for the Jets without signing. The 27-year-old will suit up for his Gang Green debut Sunday.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Paricipates fully Wednesday

Fairbairn was a full participant at Wednesday's practice and will play this weekend against New England, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Fairbairn was sidelined during much of preseason with a right leg injury. We're bullish on Fairbairn this year if quarterback Deshaun Watson stays healthy. The second-year kicker averaged 8.7 points per game in the six games Watson started last year and just four points in the other 10 games.

  • Raiders' Eddy Pineiro: Placed on IR

Pineiro (groin) has been placed on injured reserve, Matt Schneidman of The Mercury News reports.

It's a tough break for 22-year-old who appeared poised to take over the starting kicking duties in his rookie season. The Raiders even reportedly were keen on having veteran kicker Mike Nugent groom Pineiro and show him the ropes. That will no longer be the case, at least for this season, as Pineiro will spend his 2018 campaign rehabbing.

  • Giorgio Tavecchio: Cut loose by Atlanta

Tavecchio was waived by the Falcons on Saturday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.

Tavecchio had little more than a cup of coffee in Atlanta, as he's headed out of town just five days after originally signing. The journeyman kicker will now look to catch on with another franchise after posting a 76.2 field-goal rate in 2017 with Oakland.
