  Love just had his worst game of the season in Week 5 against Detroit with 12 carries for 22 yards and no catches on one target. Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said protection issues are keeping Love from being more involved in the passing game, and he continues to share touches with Tyler Allgeier. Love has been held to 7.5 PPR points or less in three of his past four games, and the Rams just allowed their first touchdown to a running back this season in Week 5 with James Cook. I would only use Love as a flex option in the majority of leagues.

  Love (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, as head coach Mike LaFleur said the Cardinals want to "get this ankle right and do it the right way," Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. Love emerged from Week 4 at the Giants with an ankle injury, and while he was able to play through it this past Sunday against the Lions, he mustered just 12 carries for 22 yards and didn't haul in his only target. Considering LaFleur's comments were murky, it's unclear if Love's practice reps are the only thing that will be managed this week, or if the rookie running back is in danger of missing an actual game. Nonethelees, Love's status will be monitored closely as the week continues to get a sense of the overall situation ahead of Sunday's road matchup with the Rams.

  Love rushed 12 times for 22 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Cardinals' 45-21 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Love's meager rushing yardage total actually led the Cardinals on the afternoon, and game script had essentially turned away from the run by halftime with Arizona already down 24-7 at that point. The rookie first-round pick was on the sideline by the final drive of the afternoon, and Love finished with a new career low in rushing yards. The downturn on the ground was particularly drastic when compared to Love's previous two games, when he'd gained 153 yards on 35 carries against the 49ers and Giants. Love and the Cardinals will have an uphill battle to bounce back in Week 6 as well, as Arizona pays a visit to the Rams next Sunday.

  Love (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Lions, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. Love emerged from Week 4 action with an ankle injury that limited him at practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he didn't have any restrictions at Friday's session before getting the all clear for Week 5. He touched on his health afterward, telling Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com that he's feeling "really, really good this week" and that he "found a way I really want to do things just consulting with the training staff and throughout my outside stuff." On Sunday, Love will look to build upon the 259 yards from scrimmage and two total TDs on 66 touches that he's racked up through the first four games of his career.
