  • Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said that Allen will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to ankle injury, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Over the past four games, Allen has filled in for Breece Hall (quadriceps) as the Jets' lead back, but both players will kick off Week 8 prep with limitations in practice. In Allen's case, he may just be a bit banged up after averaging 20.8 touches per contest in Hall's absence, so as long as doesn't take any steps back in terms of practice activity as the week rolls along, Allen should be on track to play Sunday versus the Raiders. The extent of Allen's role will depend on the availability of Hall, who could also suit up this weekend if he responds well to practicing over the next three days.

  • Allen rushed 17 times for 104 yards and caught six of seven targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Dolphins. Allen worked as the lead back for a fourth consecutive game, as Breece Hall (quadriceps) was ultimately inactive after being listed as questionable heading into the game. The 235-pound Allen continued to struggle in short yardage, getting stuffed on a goal-line attempt in the fourth quarter as the Jets were denied a game-tying touchdown and instead settled for a field goal to cut the deficit to four points with 8:57 remaining. Allen has exceeded 100 rushing yards twice during Hall's absence but has just one touchdown over that span and two touchdowns this season. Hall worked ahead of Allen prior to getting hurt, but they may split the backfield workload more evenly if Hall's cleared to return against the Raiders in Week 8.

  • Allen will remain the Jets' No. 1 back for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Dolphins, as Breece Hall has been declared inactive for the contest. With Hall unavailable for a fourth straight game Sunday, Allen will have a chance to build on the averages of 18.3 rush attempts, 84.3 rushing yards, 1.7 receptions and 11.3 receiving yards he's generated in the lead role over his teammate's first three absences. Despite their winless record, the Dolphins have been respectable defending the run, allowing 4.0 yards per carry to running backs, albeit while also conceding a 25-197-5 receiving line to the position.

I originally had Allen as the Start of the Week, but now it appears like Breece Hall (quadriceps) will play in Week 7 against Miami. We'll see how the Jets use both running backs, but I still like Allen as a flex against the Dolphins. Allen scored at least 12.4 PPR points in each of his past two games without Hall against Cleveland and New England, with 41 carries for 194 yards, a touchdown and three catches for 26 yards on six targets. This is a great matchup since Miami is No. 3 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and a running back has scored at least 15.8 PPR points in every game this season, including Ashton Jeanty, Christian McCaffrey, Kenneth Walker III, Aaron Jones and Samaje Perine. That bodes well for Hall, who should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues, but I also expect Allen to be productive even if he's now in a secondary role.
