Cooper had his roster exemption removed by the Broncos on Saturday and is available for Sunday's road game against the Cardinals, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Cooper opened the season on the commissioner's exempt list while under investigation for domestic incidents that happened in June. Now that he's back on the roster, he could make his 2026 debut Sunday, and his return would bolster a Broncos' pass rush that will be without Jonah Elliss (ankle, IR) for at least the next four games. Across 17 regular-season games in 2025, Cooper accumulated 50 tackles (23 solo), including 8.0 sacks, and four pass defenses.

Cooper (personal) was reinstated from the Commissioner Exempt List on Friday, Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports. Cooper was placed on the Exempt List on Aug. 30 while under investigation for domestic incidents that took place in June. The NFL is still conducting its own investigation, but as of now, Cooper is eligible to make his Broncos debut in Week 7 against the Cardinals.

Cooper pleaded not guilty to five charges of domestic violence in a Douglas County (Colo.) courtroom Monday, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports. Cooper now has a jury trial scheduled to begin Nov. 10 following a pair of domestic incidents that occurred a week apart in early June. The NFL placed him on the Commissioner's Exempt List on Sunday, which means he still gets paid and can attend team meetings but can't practice or play in games. Cooper's stint on the list is indefinite but may last for as long as his legal situation is playing out in court.

Cooper was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List on Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Cooper had previously been excused from mandatory minicamp amid his ongoing legal troubles stemming from a pair of arrests over the summer. He faces five charges, including second-degree felony assault. While on the Commissioner's Exempt List for an indefinite period of time, Cooper will continue to get paid, but he won't be eligible to practice or play in games.

Cooper recorded 50 tackles (23 solo), including 8.0 sacks, and four passes defensed over 17 games in 2025. Cooper continued to be a key contributor for Denver's top-tier pass rushing unit in 2025, recording the second-most sacks of any Broncos defender behind only Nik Bonitto (14.0). The 28-year-old linebacker signed a four-year extension in 2024, keeping Cooper and Bonitto under contract together for the foreseeable future. Cooper's continued development should help him to build upon his performance as one of the leaders of Denver's defense in 2026.
