Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday that Garrett (knee) could have his 21-day practice window opened next week, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports. The Rams are in shambles from an injury standpoint headed into Sunday's game against the Raiders, but help may be on the horizon in the form of Garrett. The All-Pro edge rusher hasn't played since Week 1 in Australia.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Garrett (knee) won't have his 21-day practice window opened this week, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports. The Rams haven't indicated that Garrett has experienced any setbacks since undergoing arthroscopic left knee surgery following the team's Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Australia, but he looks like he'll need more time to complete his rehab before getting back on the field for practice. The ongoing absence of Garrett will continue to loom large heading into Sunday's game against the Raiders, especially with one of the Rams' other key pass rushers (defensive tackle Kobie Turner) set to join Garrett on injured reserve after sustaining a groin injury in the Week 6 loss to the Cardinals.

Head coach Sean McVay told reporters Tuesday that Garrett (knee) will not return to practice this week and will not play against the Cardinals on Sunday, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. Garrett underwent knee surgery following the Rams' Week 1 loss to the 49ers in Australia and was subsequently placed on injured reserve. He's eligible to return from IR now that he's missed the four-game minimum, but Garrett has not progressed enough in his recovery to practice, even in a limited capacity. A six-week recovery timeline for the superstar pass rusher's return was reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and ESPN in late September, and if that timeline is accurate, then Garrett could be back in action for Week 7 against the Raiders on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Garrett (knee) is facing a six-week recovery from surgery on his left knee, but the pass rusher is determined to be back before then, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and ESPN reports. Garrett required a knee scope after Week 1 and was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 17. He's already missed one game as a result and must sit out at least three more contests while on the list, but Rapoport's report indicates his rehab may extend beyond the Rams' Week 6 road matchup with the Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Coach Sean McVay confirmed Monday that Garrett will undergo a knee scope and be placed on injured reserve, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports. "Thought we would take an approach where he'd be feeling good enough to go contribute positive change and be the player that he's capable of," McVay said. "That wasn't the case. And so the next right thing for us is to be able to get this thing fixed." Garrett will miss at least the next four games, but McVay wouldn't comment on a definitive timeline for the star edge rusher to return to the field. Garrett generated zero pressures and no stats in the box score across 40 defensive snaps against San Francisco last week.
