Brissett, who is in the midst of a contract dispute with the Cardinals, posted a photo Thursday on Instagram that showed him getting in some work recently with several teammates, Tyler Drake of Arizonasports.com reports. As he strives for new contract terms, Brissett stayed away from Arizona's voluntary work this offseason, and while the veteran signal-caller was present for the team's mandatory minicamp last month, he did not participate in practice. That he connected with WRs Marvin Harrison and Simi Fehoko, TEs Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins along with fellow QB Kedon Slovis ahead of training camp is a positive sign, but it remains to be seen if or for how long Brissett's contract issue lingers once the Cardinals re-take the field. For now, Drake notes that Brissett remains the team's expected Week 1 starter, but Gardner Minshew (who took the majority of first-team QB reps this offseason) and 2026 third-rounder Carson Beck also could enter the conversation this summer, pending Brissett's status.

Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur declined Wednesday to name a starting quarterback, though Brissett reported for the start of mandatory minicamp on Monday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. LaFleur's lack of an answer when asked about Arizona's starting quarterback may partially be posturing, after Brissett held out of voluntary workouts earlier in the offseason due to dissatisfaction with his current contract. It wouldn't be out of the question, however, for the Cardinals to host a competition that includes backup Gardner Minshew and rookie third-rounder Carson Beck if the team suspects Brissett will enact a "hold in" as the offseason progresses. Brissett is heading into the final season of his two-year deal and is slated to carry a $4.88 million salary in 2026. Earlier in the offseason, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN reports that Arizona informed Brissett (who was in attendance for Tuesday's minicamp practice but did not participate) he would be the team's starter for 2026.

Brissett reported for the start of mandatory minicamp Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Brissett would've been subject to fines if he didn't show up for minicamp after he stayed away from the Cardinals during voluntary workouts earlier this offseason. It's unclear if Brissett is giving up on his quest for more money or if he'll "hold in" during minicamp and training camp in an effort to squeeze some guaranteed money out of Arizona. The veteran quarterback is in the final year of a two-year deal and is set to collect a $4.88 million salary for 2026 as his contract currently stands.

Brissett is expected to report to the Cardinals' minicamp this week, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Brissett has been away from the team as he's been holding out to get an increase in pay for the 2026 campaign, but the quarterback will at least be in attendance this week. It's unclear how much he'll participate, but his arrival is still a notable development. Brissett is coming off of a 2025 campaign during which he completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,366 yards and 23 touchdowns while throwing eight interceptions over 14 contests with Arizona.

Brissett was not present for the first day of the final week of Arizona's voluntary OTAs on Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Brissett continues to hold out as he seeks a reworked contract for 2026. He's yet to show up at Arizona's OTAs, though the sessions so far have been voluntary. However, the Cardinals begin mandatory minicamp next Monday, so the situation could escalate if Brissett remains absent then (assuming he hasn't gotten the new deal he desires).
