  • Jordan Miller SG | LAC

Clippers' Jordan Miller: Likely to miss six months

Miller underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn left rotator cuff and will be re-evaluated in six months, per Law Murray of The Athletic.

It's a tough break for Miller, who had an opportunity to battle for a reserve role during training camp in the fall. The timeline for his return is likely to keep him on the shelf until after the All-Star break. Miller's extended stay on the sidelines gives Kobe Sanders a chance to crack the Clippers' rotation.

  • Pelicans' Bennedict Mathurin: Signs deal with Pelicans

Mathurin signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Pelicans on Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

The deal includes a player option for the second season. Mathurin was previously a restricted free agent, but the Pelicans approached the Clippers about withdrawing the qualifying offer prior to this deal. In New Orleans, Mathurin is expected to be a key part of the second unit behind Trey Murphy and Saddiq Bey.

  • Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Sitting out for Canada

Gilgeous-Alexander will not participate in Canada's upcoming World Cup qualifiers, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.

There is no injury to report, and this is simply a case of Gilgeous-Alexander prioritizing rest ahead of the upcoming NBA season. With training camp about a month away, the superstar is expected to be a full go for the Thunder.

  • Warriors' Georges Niang: Inks contract with Golden State

Niang (foot) signed a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Warriors on Tuesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Niang suffered a fourth metatarsal stress reaction in his left foot last offseason and was eventually traded from Utah to Memphis in February before being waived. He was unable to catch on with a team after being let go by the Grizzlies, though he'll provide frontcourt depth for the Warriors in 2026-27 and should be ready to go by the time training camp rolls around. Over 79 regular-season appearances (three starts) between the Cavaliers and Hawks in 2024-25, he averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 21.5 minutes per tilt.

  • Brandon Miller SG | CHA

Hornets' Brandon Miller: Nearing return to action

Miller (shoulder) provided an update on his rehab with comments to Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer on Tuesday.

With Miller coming off May surgery to address left shoulder instability, any rehab update is notable as Charlotte prepares for training camp. "It's going good, going good," Miller said. "I'm getting stronger. That's all I can ask for. The stronger I get, the more mobile I am with the shoulder, and that is the most important thing." He wasn't ready to commit to a timetable, and he's still awaiting full clearance for basketball activities, with training camp a little over a month away.

  • Warriors' Brandon Williams: Signs with Warriors

Williams signed a one-year, $2.6 million deal with the Warriors on Tuesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Williams is coming off a successful campaign with the Mavericks. Across 66 regular-season appearances, he averaged 13.0 points, 3.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 0.5 three-pointers. Minutes won't be easy to come by in Golden State, however, so he's likely going to be an emergency depth option.

  • Shaedon Sharpe SG | POR

Trail Blazers' Shaedon Sharpe: Expected to miss six months

Sharpe suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and is expected to miss six months, per Shams Charania of ESPN.

It's a tough blow to the Trail Blazers' depth on the wing ahead of training camp. Sharpe, who is now likely to be sidelined until after the All-Star break, had been ticketed for a reserve role behind Toumani Camara following an injury-plagued 2025-26 campaign, which saw Sharpe average a career-high 20.8 points, 1.4 steals and 2.1 three-pointers per game over 50 regular-season appearances. The door is now open for Vit Krejci and Jeremy Sochan to compete for bench minutes during camp.

  • Oso Ighodaro C | PHO

Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Expanding his game

Ighodaro has spent the offseason working to expand his offensive game, with the third-year big man specifically focusing on his free-throw shooting and three-point range, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.

Ighodaro attempted just three three-pointers over his first two NBA seasons and shot 45.3 percent from the charity stripe in 2025-26 over 82 regular-season games, so any progress as a shooter could add another dimension to his offensive profile. The 24-year-old also said he plans to be more aggressive while continuing to serve as a "connector" and on-court quarterback on both ends of the floor. Ighodaro averaged 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 65.3 percent from the field and appearing in all 82 regular-season games last campaign.

  • Quentin Grimes SG | LAL

Lakers' Quentin Grimes: Could play key role

Grimes figures to have an opportunity to fill the two-way role the Lakers need on the perimeter, with his defensive ability potentially being just as important as his production on the offensive end, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

Grimes is an athletic, aggressive guard capable of applying pressure at the point of attack, while his physicality and activity should give Los Angeles another option against opposing perimeter scorers. Grimes' willingness to attack offensively also adds another dimension beyond his spot-up shooting, though his overall impact could depend heavily on the makeup of the starting five.

  • Jimmy Butler SF | GS

Warriors' Jimmy Butler: Still not close to return

Butler (knee) is still in the relatively early stages of his recovery and has only recently begun getting back on the court, according to Danny Emerman of SFStandard.com.

There remains significant uncertainty surrounding his return timeline, as his injury typically carries a nine-to-12-month recovery window. A return sometime between Christmas and March appears to be a reasonable range for now, though fantasy managers shouldn't put much stock into a specific target date until Butler progresses further in his rehab.
