Top Thunder News

  • Thunder's Jalen Williams: Sidelined for Game 4

Williams (hamstring) is out for Monday's Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Lakers.

Williams will miss a sixth straight game due to a left hamstring strain he sustained in Game 2 of the team's first-round series against the Suns. The Thunder could close out the second-round series with a victory, giving Williams extra rest time ahead of the Western Conference Finals. In the interim, Ajay Mitchell and Cason Wallace are candidates for expanded roles.

  • Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Another near double-double

Holmgren logged 18 points (9-14 FG, 0-4 3Pt), nine rebounds, one assist and one block over 31 minutes during Saturday's 131-108 win over the Lakers in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Holmgren paced the Thunder in the first half, with 12 of his 18 points coming over the first two quarters of Saturday's game. He co-led Oklahoma City in rebounds and finished as the team's third-leading scorer behind Ajay Mitchell (24 points) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (23 points). Holmgren has scored at least 18 points in five of seven playoff games, and in the postseason he is averaging 19.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.7 threes, 2.0 blocks and 1.4 steals over 30.9 minutes per contest.

  • Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Near double-double in Game 3 win

Gilgeous-Alexander logged 23 points (7-20 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-7 FT), nine assists, four rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 33 minutes during Saturday's 131-108 win over the Lakers in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Lakers held Gilgeous-Alexander in check for most of Saturday's game, though the reigning MVP still managed to crack the 20-point threshold and finished second on the Thunder in both points and assists behind Ajay Mitchell (24 points and 10 assists). Gilgeous-Alexander's stats in the semifinals haven't been great in comparison to the first round of the playoffs or the regular season, but that can be chalked up to the Lakers' defense homing in on the superstar guard. Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder will look to sweep the series in Game 4 on Monday.

  • Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Outstanding in Game 3 win

Mitchell logged 24 points (10-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 assists, four rebounds and three steals over 30 minutes during the Thunder's 131-108 win over the Lakers in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Saturday.

Mitchell came on strong in the second half, scoring nine points in both the third and fourth quarters to help the Thunder separate from the Lakers to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. The 2024 second-rounder also led his team in assists, tying a season high that he set back in the regular season against the Kings on Nov. 7. Mitchell has started in each of the Thunder's last five games due to the absence of Jalen Williams (hamstring), and in that five-game span, Mitchell has averaged 19.8 points, 5.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 threes over 30.8 minutes per contest.

  • Thunder's Jalen Williams: Remaining out for Game 3

The Thunder list Williams (hamstring) out Saturday against the Lakers in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Williams will miss his fifth straight playoff game due to a left hamstring strain after sustaining the injury in Game 2 of the Thunder's first-round series versus the Suns. The 24-year-old had been limited to just 33 appearances during the regular season, missing time due to a pair of wrist surgeries along with a pair of right hamstring strains. If Oklahoma City is able to win Saturday and push its series lead to 3-0, the Thunder could continue to hold Williams out for Game 4 with the aim of ensuring he's closer to full health for the start of the Western Conference Finals.
