Top Thunder News

  • Thunder's Payton Sandfort: Nets 25 points in 21 minutes

Sandfort produced 25 points (6-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes during Monday's 82-77 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Hawks.

Sandfort led the Thunder in scoring and finished with a team-best plus-25 differential in the narrow defeat. Sandfort has played well through the first two games in Salt Lake City, and he'll look to make it three in a row Tuesday versus Utah.

  • Thunder's Aday Mara: Swats four shots in 23 minutes

Mara contributed 10 points (3-9 FG, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and four blocks over 23 minutes during Monday's 82-77 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Hawks.

Mara added a game-high five turnovers while he was out there, so it wasn't his most productive offensive outing. However, he did show his upside as a shot blocker and did a nice job battling on the boards. It remains to be seen if Mara will suit up for the second leg of this back-to-back set Tuesday versus the Jazz.

  • Thunder's Payton Sandfort: Scores 13 off bench

Sandfort finished with 13 points (4-12 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and one rebound in 24 minutes of Sunday's 111-74 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Grizzlies.

Sandfort was previously with the Thunder on a two-way deal before being cut loose in March. He's vying for an invite to training camp, and he's likely on track to land with Oklahoma City's G League affiliate.

  • Thunder's Bennett Stirtz: Quiet outing in loss

Stirtz produced 10 points (3-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with four assists, three rebounds and three steals in 24 minutes of Sunday's 111-74 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Thunder.

The No. 16 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, Stirtz had a well-balanced line despite the lopsided loss. The Thunder traded up for him and obviously rate him highly, but his path to minutes as a rookie is pretty crowded in Oklahoma City's stacked backcourt.

  • Thunder's Brooks Barnhizer: Scores 13 in blowout loss

Barnhizer finished with 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one turnover in 20 minutes of Sunday's 111-74 Salt Lake City Summer League loss to the Grizzlies.

Barnhizer was one of the few bright spots in this blowout loss. The Thunder extended Barnhizer a two-way qualifying offer back on June 29, and the franchise is likely looking to have him be a featured player for their G League affiliate.

  • Thunder's Aday Mara: Scores 10 points with two blocks

Mara registered 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks over 22 minutes during Saturday's 111-74 Summer League loss to the Grizzlies.

Mara did a nice job of asserting himself in the paint, and he also flashed some solid playmaking upside. He'll help back up the center spot in Oklahoma City during his rookie season, but his minutes will likely be relegated to the teens or lower while the team is at full strength.

  • Thunder's Kenrich Williams: Returning to Thunder

Williams will sign a one-year, $5 million deal with the Thunder, according to NBA reporter Chris Haynes.

The Thunder recently declined his $7.1 million team option, so they save some money here in addition to generating some tax relief for the franchise. The forward averaged 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 15.3 minutes per contest across 56 regular-season games for the Thunder in 2025-26.

  • Thunder's Thomas Sorber: Undergoes minor knee procedure

Sorber underwent a successful minor arthroscopic procedure on his right knee Wednesday and will return to full basketball activities in approximately four weeks, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.

Sorber can now officially be ruled out for Summer League but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. The 20-year-old center missed the 2025-26 campaign with a torn ACL in his right knee, and he isn't guaranteed a consistent role this season while competing for minutes with Aday Mara and Jaylin Williams behind expected starter Isaiah Hartenstein.

  • Thunder's Brooks Barnhizer: Extended qualifying offer

The Thunder tendered a two-way qualifying offer to Barnhizer on Monday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Barnhizer can still seek a better deal elsewhere as a restricted free agent. The 24-year-old forward appeared in 40 regular-season games during his rookie campaign, averaging 1.7 points and 2.0 rebounds across 8.7 minutes per contest.

  • Thunder's Luguentz Dort: Team option picked up

The Thunder picked up Dort's $17.7 million team option Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

The Thunder are already heavily into the tax, but the franchise has every intention of getting back to the NBA Finals, and this was a priority for the team. Dort averaged 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.9 steals while shooting a career-low 38.5 percent from the field in 26.8 minutes per game across 69 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, but his defense is invaluable.

  • Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein: Plans to re-sign with OKC

Hartenstein intends to sign a three-year, $75 million contract with the Thunder, Shams Charania of ESPN reports Friday.

Hartenstein will return to the Thunder after spending the last two years in Oklahoma City. The big man was a key piece in the team's championship run in 2025, and he figures to continue operating in a starting role next season. Over 47 regular-season appearances (46 starts) in 2025-26, he averaged 9.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.8 combined steals-plus-blocks in 24.2 minutes per contest.

  • Thunder's Christoph Tilly: Signs with Thunder

Tilly signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Thunder on Thursday, Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.com reports.

The German 7-footer will now compete for a roster spot during training camp, but presumably, the Thunder will be eyeing him for a spot on their G League affiliate. After steadily progressing during three years at Santa Clara, Tilly transferred to Ohio State for his senior season, averaging 11.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 stocks per game on 48/23/73 shooting splits.
