Top Rockets News

  • Rockets' Jeff Green: Doesn't see floor in Game 6

Green did not see the floor in Friday's Game 6 loss to the Lakers.

The veteran was mostly an emergency depth piece for the Rockets in 2025-26. Across 30 regular-season contests, he averaged a mere 5.8 minutes with 2.2 points and 0.8 rebounds.

  • Rockets' JD Davison: Sees two minutes in Game 6

Davison supplied no counting stats across two minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Davison was used very sparingly in his debut season for Houston. Across 28 regular-season contests, he averaged just 7.8 minutes per game with 2.5 points, 1.3 assists and 1.2 rebounds.

  • Rockets' Clint Capela: Logs two minutes in Game 6

Capela notched two points (1-1 FG) and one rebound across two minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Capela's return to Houston in 2025-26 was mostly underwhelming, even after the season-ending injury to Steven Adams (ankle). In total, Capela made 75 regular-season appearances with averages of 3.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per contest.

  • Rockets' Jae'Sean Tate: Logs five minutes in loss

Tate accumulated three points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and three rebounds in five minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Tate was primarily an emergency depth option off the bench this season. Across 46 regular-season contests, he averaged just 8.8 minutes per contest with 2.8 points and 1.6 rebounds on 51.4 percent shooting from the field.

  • Rockets' Dorian Finney-Smith: Scoreless in eight minutes

Finney-Smith registered zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) across eight minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Finney-Smith was used sparingly during his first campaign with the Rockets, and injuries limited him to 37 regular-season appearances. He averaged just 3.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists, shooting 33.3 percent from the field in 16.8 minutes per contest.

  • Rockets' Aaron Holiday: Logs two points in Game 6

Holiday notched two points (1-1 FG), one rebound and two assists over 12 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Holiday played a very minor role in this season-ending loss. During the regular season, Holiday appeared in 57 contests with averages of 5.5 points, 1.1 assists, 1.0 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 1.2 three-pointers in 13.7 minutes per contest.

  • Rockets' Josh Okogie: Limited output in loss

Okogie registered three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Okogie was used sparingly in the postseason, with the Rockets relying heavily on the starting group. He was a key reserve for Houston during the regular season, making 78 appearances (32 starts) with averages of 4.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.8 three-pointers in 17.4 minutes per contest.

  • Rockets' Tari Eason: Struggles with shot in Game 6

Eason contributed 14 points (5-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals across 37 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Eason had trouble finding the bottom of the net in Game 6, although, to be fair, it was a common theme for the other members of the starting lineup as well. With Houston eliminated from postseason play, the 24-year-old will now turn his attention toward restricted free agency. Eason averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.2 steals across 25.8 minutes per game during the 2025-26 campaign over 60 regular-season games. With 139 appearances combined in the last three regular seasons, Eason will need to prove he can stay healthy. While the 2022 No. 17 overall pick should continue to hold a stable role in the rotation with the Rockets, assuming he re-signs, the lack of consistency is something fantasy managers will need to consider moving ahead.

  • Rockets' Jabari Smith: Struggles offensively in Game 6

Smith totaled nine points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and one block in 42 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Smith finished with 22 points in Game 5. However, the 22-year-old had trouble getting anything going Friday night and was unable to help his team force a Game 7. Overall, Smith had a productive regular season, averaging a career-best 15.8 points with 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.7 steals while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from deep across 35.1 minutes per contest. He also appeared in 77 games, his second-highest mark since entering the league in 2022. Smith, who agreed to a five-year, $122 million extension in Oct. 2025, will likely continue to hold a stable role as a starter for the Rockets moving ahead. Although he isn't the most consistent offensively, his durability and defensive prowess should continue to benefit the team during the 2026-27 campaign and beyond, assuming he remains on the roster.

  • Rockets' Reed Sheppard: Struggles in Game 6 defeat

Sheppard totaled 10 points (4-19 FG, 1-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one assist, two blocks and two steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Sheppard struggled offensively during Friday's loss and reached the double-digit points mark only because of his shooting volume. He finished the series having averaged 12.2 points on just 30.7 percent shooting (including 29.6 percent from three on 9.0 3PA/G) along with 4.7 assists, 1.0 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 0.8 blocks over 32.2 minutes per contest. Sheppard saw his playing time increase shortly before and during the playoffs, but his role with the Rockets for the 2026-27 season could shrink due to the return of Fred VanVleet (knee).

  • Rockets' Amen Thompson: Team-high 18 points in Game 6 loss

Thompson accumulated 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 45 minutes during Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Thompson did most of his scoring out of halftime, scoring 10 of his team-high 18 points in the third quarter, but the Rockets were in too much of a deficit to mount a comeback and extend the series to Game 7. The third-year pro finished the series averaging 19.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.2 blocks over 44.2 minutes per game. Thompson averaged career highs in points, assists and steals during the 2025-26 regular season and should command a sizable extension from the Rockets during the offseason.

  • Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Double-doubles in Game 6 loss

Sengun supplied 17 points (5-12 FG, 7-10 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and one assist across 38 minutes in Friday's 98-78 loss to the Lakers in Game 6 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Sengun struggled with efficiency, though that proved to be a common theme for the Rockets in their season-ending loss. The star big man still finished second on the team in scoring and led the club in rebounds en route to his third double-double of the series. He earned his second career All-Star nod in 2025-26, finishing the regular season with averages of 20.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 33.3 minutes per tilt across 72 appearances.
