Okongwu finally showed signs of life after a disappointing start to the season, providing fantasy managers with a sense of relief. Through four games, Okongwu has averaged 9.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 combined steals and blocks in 26.5 minutes per contest. Monday's game saw him record season-high marks in points, rebounds, steals and blocks. He will look to continue his turnaround when Atlanta hosts Miami on Wednesday.

Okongwu contributed eight points (3-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 132-125 win over Orlando. Okongwu struggled with his perimeter shot but made up for his modest scoring output by leading Atlanta in assists. The starting center's playmaking was encouraging, though he failed to record a defensive statistic. His ability to contribute across multiple categories should keep him valuable despite occasional scoring fluctuations.

Okongwu recorded 18 points (5-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 23 minutes in Saturday's 119-117 preseason win over the Pacers. Okongwu delivered a productive offensive performance, making all six of his free-throw attempts while committing just one turnover. The center attempted seven three-pointers, and although he connected on only two, his tendency to stretch the floor has been noticeable in the preseason. That could add another wrinkle to his expanding offensive game. Okongwu, who averaged 15.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per game across 74 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, will be one of the Hawks' go-to players on both ends of the floor once the regular season starts Oct. 21 at Orlando.

Okongwu recorded 13 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and five assists across 22 minutes in Thursday's 123-116 preseason win over the Spurs. Okongwu showed his versatility as a playmaking big man, leading Atlanta's starters with five assists while connecting on two three-pointers. His willingness to shoot from beyond the arc remains an intriguing element of his offensive development, and if this translates to the regular season, it could unlock a whole new level of upside for Okongwu, who's already an excellent finisher near the rim and an above-average rebounder.
