Kyle Isbel CF | KC
Royals' Kyle Isbel: Clutch off bench
Isbel went 1-for-1 with a go-ahead RBI and a walk in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the White Sox.
Isbel played the hero Tuesday, delivering the go-ahead RBI in the ninth inning after coming off the bench the frame prior. His .681 OPS this season hasn't been impressive, but the 28-year-old's strong defense keeps him locked in as the club's regular center fielder.

Tanner Schobel SS | MIN
Twins' Tanner Schobel: Returns to Triple-A lineup
Schobel (forearm) started at third base and went 1-for-4 on Tuesday in Triple-A St. Paul's 5-4 win over Toledo after being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Schobel had been on the shelf since June 15 due to a right forearm fracture before being cleared to rejoin the Triple-A club this week after completing a three-game rehab assignment with Single-A Fort Myers. Over 12 games with St. Paul on the season, Schobel is hitting .231/.348/.410 with one home run.

Javier Sanoja 3B | MIA
Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Yielding to Acosta in series finale
Sanoja is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Sanoja will hit the bench for the second time in the series and may have settled into more of a timeshare at third base with Maximo Acosta, who will replace him in the lineup Wednesday. Both Sanoja and Acosta are likely to see their opportunities to play at third base diminish once Connor Norby (wrist) completes his minor-league rehab assignment and is activated from the 10-day injured list.

Jeremiah Estrada RP | SD
Padres' Jeremiah Estrada: Picks up 27th hold
Estrada earned a hold against Seattle on Tuesday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in one inning.
Estrada entered in a very high-leverage situation, taking the mound with San Diego up by one run the eighth inning. The right-hander allowed a leadoff single but nothing more, getting out of the frame with the lead intact. Mason Miller was used one inning before Estrada, but that doesn't necessarily reflect the Padres' bullpen hierarchy, as Miller was summoned to face the heart of Seattle's order. Nonetheless, Estrada continues to be a trusted late-inning option for San Diego -- he has a career-high 27 holds on the campaign, tied for fourth-most in the majors.

Troy Johnston 1B | MIA
Marlins' Troy Johnston: Exiting starting nine Wednesday
Johnston is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
With a lefty (Joey Wentz) on the hill for Atlanta, the left-handed-hitting Johnston will head to the bench for the series finale. Johnston had started in each of Miami's last seven games at first base or in left or right field, going 8-for-20 with one double, two walks and three RBI during that stretch.

Michael Massey 2B | KC
Royals' Michael Massey: Drives in pair off bench
Massey went 1-for-2 with two RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 victory over the White Sox.
Massey pinch-hit for Nick Loftin in the eighth inning and later delivered a clutch two-run single in the ninth inning to tie the game. Tuesday was just his second appearance since returning from the injured list after being sidelined since June 10 with wrist, ankle and back injuries. While the 27-year-old doesn't have a locked-in everyday role for the Royals, his defensive versatility should help him earn opportunities.

Agustin Ramirez C | MIA
Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Getting rare day off Wednesday
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Since getting the call to the big leagues April 21, Ramirez has shouldered one of the heavier workloads among all backstops in baseball, as he's often served as a designated hitter on his non-catching days. The Marlins will give Ramirez a rare day off from both playing defense and hitting, as he'll take a seat after starting in each of the last 14 games. Liam Hicks will step in behind the plate Wednesday, and Heriberto Hernandez will get the nod at DH.

Jonah Tong SP | NYM
Mets' Jonah Tong: May only make spot start
Tong isn't guaranteed another start in the Mets rotation beyond Friday, Will Sammon and Tim Britton of the Athletic reports. "We're going turn by turn at this point," president of baseball operations David Stearns said Tuesday. "We try not to plan too far ahead."
The breakout prospect and minor-league strikeout leader will make his MLB debut Friday against the Marlins as the Mets build in an extra day of rest for starters like Kodai Senga and Sean Manaea, who have struggled lately. Whether Tong forces New York to stick with a six-man rotation afterward, or even bumps one of the veterans to the bullpen, will likely depend on how he handles the jump up in competition, and whether he gives the club the best chance to win games in a tight NL playoff race. "We're getting to the point where our job is to put the best players out there day in, day out," manager Carlos Mendoza said. "Performance matters. We've got to see performance."

Jose Butto RP | SF
Giants' Jose Butto: Picks up third hold Tuesday
Butto picked up a hold over two-thirds of a scoreless inning in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Cubs, striking out one.
Butto recorded his third consecutive scoreless outing, throwing four of his seven pitches for strikes after entering with one out in the eighth inning. Over 11 appearances since being traded to the Giants, the right-hander has recorded a 2.61 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and a 10:3 K:BB across 10.1 innings. Overall, he owns a 3.45 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and a 51:25 K:BB over 57.1 innings in 45 games between the Giants and Mets.

Joey Lucchesi RP | SF
Giants' Joey Lucchesi: Earns second hold Tuesday
Lucchesi picked up a hold over 1.1 scoreless innings in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Cubs, striking out two.
Lucchesi entered the game in the seventh inning and retired all four batters he faced, throwing 13 of his 19 pitches for strikes. The left-hander has struggled in August, though he has recorded back-to-back scoreless outings. Over 10 appearances this month, he has recorded an 8.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and a 6:4 K:BB across nine innings.
