France (wrist) will start at first base and bat fifth in Monday's game against the Cubs.

France didn't start in either of the final two games of the Padres' weekend series versus the Dodgers while he dealt with a sore wrist, but he was able to come off the bench to make a pinch-hitting appearance in Sunday's 4-2 loss. Though he was hit by a pitch in his lone trip to the plate, France stayed in the game and went on to play the final inning at first base. He'll now rejoin the starting nine for the series opener in Chicago and will look to continue what's been a productive offensive run of late. Over his last eight games, France has gotten on base at a .407 clip while mashing four home runs and two doubles and driving in 10 runs.

Bader (foot) will start his hitting and throwing progressions later this week, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports.

Bader landed on the 10-day injured list in late May due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He was cleared to start running after getting stem-cell treatment for his foot, and he's on track to resume hitting and throwing in the coming days. Bader's next step is to embark on a rehab assignment, though it's unclear whether he'll be ready to return to the majors before the mid-July All-Star break.

Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Burnes is expected to receive follow-up imaging on his elbow in the first or second week of July, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

After facing hitters May 29 for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery June 11, 2025, Burnes reported discomfort following the workout and was diagnosed with a teres major strain. He'll remain shut down from activity for at least another week or two, but he could be cleared to resume a throwing progression if his imaging shows improvement. Burnes will presumably need a lengthy ramp-up period once getting the green light to throw, so he would appear unlikely to make it back from the 60-day injured list until the second half of August or possibly September.

Walton isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.

Walton will retreat to the bench for Monday's series opener after also getting the day off Sunday. This will give Oswald Peraza a second straight start at the keystone.

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.

The left-handed-hitting Hamilton will hit the bench for the second time in the Brewers' last three games, with both of his absences coming against left-handed starting pitchers. Joey Ortiz will replace Hamilton at third base Monday while southpaw Nick Lodolo toes the rubber for Cincinnati.

Smith (foot) is batting sixth and starting in right field Monday against the Twins.

After missing Sunday's game with a bruised foot, Smith is back in action for the first game of the week.

Friedl is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

After being called up from Triple-A Louisville on Sunday in the wake of Blake Dunn's (elbow) placement on the injured list, Friedl started in center field in the Reds' 9-4 loss to the Pirates, going 0-for-4 in his first appearance for the big club since June 2. Though he'll take a seat Monday while southpaw Robert Gasser toes the rubber for the Brewers, Friedl could occupy the large side of a platoon in center with Dane Myers until Dunn is back from the IL.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

The left-handed-hitting Lowe will head to the bench for the series opener in Milwaukee while southpaw Robert Gasser toes the rubber for the Brewers. Lowe will cede first base to Spencer Steer, who will bat third.

Donovan (groin) ran sprints on the field Monday and will be re-evaluated after the Mariners' homestand to determine whether he's ready to begin a rehab assignment, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners' homestand runs through Sunday, so Donovan is at least a week from playing in games. That timeline seemingly rules him out for a return before the All-Star break, though he could conceivably be ready for the start of the second half if all goes well. Donovan has been limited to just 25 games this season due to a recurring groin injury.

Pederson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

As per usual, the left-handed-hitting Pederson will retreat to the bench while Texas goes up against a lefty starter (Parker Messick) in the series opener. Justin Foscue will replace Pederson at designated hitter and will occupy the leadoff spot.
