Abbott (10-7) earned the win against the Brewers on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Abbott was spotted an early lead and delivered a steady outing to secure a crucial Reds victory in their playoff push. After a rough start to September in which he gave up five runs, the southpaw closed the month with four straight outings of three earned runs or fewer. He'll finish the regular season with a 2.87 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 149:43 K:BB across a career-high 166.1 innings.

Strider (7-14) took the loss against the Pirates on Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

Strider generated 15 whiffs on 85 pitches and entered the sixth inning locked in a pitcher's duel before allowing two runs in the frame. While 2025 was a disappointing campaign overall, the 26-year-old closed on a steadier note, allowing three earned runs or fewer in each of his final six starts. He'll finish the season with a 4.45 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 131:51 K:BB across 125.1 innings.

Chandler (4-1) earned the win against Atlanta on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and no walks with six strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Despite throwing just 50 of 86 pitches for strikes, Chandler didn't issue a walk for the third straight start and generated 13 whiffs en route to his second consecutive win. Over his final three outings, the 23-year-old allowed only two earned runs with a stellar 19:0 K:BB. He'll finish his debut campaign with a 4.02 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 31:4 K:BB across 31.1 major-league innings.

Taillon (11-7) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over six innings in Saturday's 7-3 victory over the Cardinals. He struck out eight.

The veteran righty continues his hot streak to close out the regular season. Taillon has given up two runs or fewer in seven straight starts since returning from a calf strain in late July despite a groin injury in late August that sidelined him for another couple weeks, going 4-2 with a 1.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB in 33 innings during that stretch. With Cade Horton (ribs) landing on the IL on Saturday, Taillon's importance to the Cubs' postseason rotation only grows.

McGreevy (8-4) took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over 4.2 innings as the Cardinals were downed 7-3 by the Cubs. He struck out three.

A pair of homers by Michael Busch accounted for all the damage off McGreevy, who got the hook after 88 pitches (56 strikes). The loss was only the second for the right-hander since the beginning of August, and over his final 11 starts of 2025 he went 6-2 with a 4.16 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB in 62.2 innings, staking a solid claim to a spot in St. Louis' 2026 rotation.

Paddack will draw the start on the mound in Sunday's game against Boston, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Paddack will replace Tarik Skubal on the rubber in Game 162 after Detroit secured a playoff berth with a 2-1 win over the Red Sox on Saturday, allowing the team the rest their ace in the regular-season finale. Since being acquired from the Twins in July, Paddack has posted a 6.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB in 42.2 innings over 11 appearances. He was moved to the bullpen earlier this month but should be able to provide the Tigers with a decent amount of length after tossing five innings of long relief in his most recent appearance Sept. 19 versus Atlanta.

Skubal will no longer start Sunday's regular-season finale against Boston, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Skubal will get a breather after Detroit secured a playoff berth with a 2-1 win over the Red Sox on Sunday. Chris Paddack will now take the mound in Game 162 for the Tigers, allowing the team to save Skubal for the playoffs. Skubal will finish his 2025 campaign with a sparkling 2.21 ERA and 0.89 WHIP while compiling 241 strikeouts over 195.1 innings in 31 starts.

Glasnow is expected to pitch between three and five innings in Saturday's start against Seattle, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Glasnow will be held back slightly in his final regular-season start of the year, and his outing will depend on how far he's gotten when he reaches the team's designated pitch count for him Saturday. Andrew Heaney is expected to take the mound following Glasnow and soak up the extra innings that Glasnow would've likely handled.

Manaea will start Sunday's game against the Marlins, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Manaea will toe the rubber for the Mets' all-important final regular-season contest. The left-hander has struggled to a 7.64 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 19 strikeouts over 17.2 innings in five appearances, including three starts, in September. It's possible that Manaea will be on a short leash versus Miami considering New York is on the postseason bubble, making him an unpredictable fantasy asset in Game 162.

McCullers (hand) was activated from the 15-day injured list Saturday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

McCullers will make his return to the major-league roster with just two games left in the regular season. The 31-year-old has been sidelined since Sept. 12 with right hand soreness, and he was at one point described to be "highly unlikely" to return to action in September by general manager Dana Brown. McCullers has posted a 6.71 ERA and 1.85 WHIP with 57 strikeouts over 52.1 innings in 15 appearances, including 12 starts, with Houston this season. In a corresponding move, Nick Hernandez was designated for assignment Saturday.
