Verlander didn't factor into the decision against the Cubs on Tuesday. He allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings.

Verlander entered Tuesday's game having logged three-straight quality starts, but he wasn't able to extend that streak to four after being lifted before the start of the sixth inning. He generated nine whiffs on 82 pitches (52 strikes), and the two-run home run he gave up to Miguel Amaya in the third frame was Verlander's sixth of the season, which is tied for 10th most in the National League. Through eight starts this season, Verlander has a 4.50 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB across 42 innings. He's slated to face the Diamondbacks at home next week.

Burke allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out two in 6.1 innings Tuesday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.

Burke held the Royals scoreless and without an extra-base hit through five innings until Kyle Isbel took him deep to lead off the sixth. Burke finished the frame and exited in line for a win that was eventually squandered by the bullpen in the ninth inning. Burke has now posted back-to-back quality starts and has given up three runs or fewer while going at least five innings in four straight outings. He'll aim to close out a strong two-start week at home this weekend against the Marlins.

Giolito (0-1) yielded six runs on 10 hits and a walk over 3.2 innings Tuesday, striking out two and taking a loss against Texas.

Giolito gave up just one run through three innings before the Rangers piled on five runs in the fourth. It was a big step back after producing a quality start with seven strikeouts in his season debut. Giolito threw 49 of 74 pitches for strikes and forced only six whiffs. He'll carry an 8.38 ERA into his next matchup, which is lined up to be in Kansas City this weekend.

Eovaldi (3-2) allowed a run on five hits and a walk over six innings Tuesday, striking out seven and earning a win over Boston.

Eovaldi worked through five shutout frames before the Red Sox finally broke through with a run in the sixth inning. He tossed 65 of 90 pitches for strikes and generated a season-high 18 whiffs. Eovaldi has produced four straight quality starts and has six total in eight outings, resulting in a dominant 2.03 ERA over 48.2 innings. He's also punched out at least seven batters in four consecutive outings and now owns a ridiculous 53:4 K:BB. Eovaldi will look to continue his hot streak in his next appearance, which is lined up to be in Detroit this weekend.

Rea did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's game against the Giants, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings.

Rea hadn't given up more than two earned runs in any of his four starts heading into Tuesday, and he started strongly by retiring the side in the first inning. However, he proceeded to give up four runs over the next two frames before yielding a fifth run in the fourth, and his eight hits allowed were his most since Sept. 29 of last season (10 hits). Rea was able to escape with the no-decision to stay out of the loss column, and he's slated to face the Marlins at home next week.

Rasmussen (1-3) yielded three runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings Tuesday, striking out two and taking a loss against the Phillies.

Rasmussen was not very effective Tuesday, but all the damage against him came during the second inning. He gave up a solo shot to Kyle Schwarber followed by Alec Bohm's two-run homer. Rasmussen completed at least five innings in each of his first six starts but has yet to finish six frames in any outing this year. Despite some recent shakiness (10 earned runs over his last 14.1 innings), he still owns a 3.09 ERA with a 32:9 K:BB through 35 innings. Rasmussen is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Brewers this weekend.

Wheeler (3-1) allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings Tuesday, striking out nine and earning a win against the Rays.

Wheeler was impressive as usual Tuesday. He threw three shutout frames before Yandy Diaz tagged him with a two-run shot in the fourth inning. Wheeler turned in his fourth consecutive quality start and has produced six in eight outings this season. He forced 16 whiffs on 84 pitches, including nine with his fastball. Wheeler dropped his ERA to 3.35 with a terrific 66:9 K:BB across 51 innings. He's currently in line to start in Cleveland this weekend.

Schmidt did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's win over San Diego. He yielded two runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings while striking out four.

Schmidt tossed three scoreless frames before coughing up a pair of runs in the fourth inning. He was scratched from his scheduled outing Saturday against the Rays but came back Tuesday to deliver his first quality start of the season. Schmidt threw 53 of 85 pitches for strikes and generated seven whiffs, tying a season low. His ERA dropped to 4.79 alongside a 19:10 K:BB through 20.2 innings. Schmidt's next start will likely be on the road against the Athletics or Mariners.

King did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's loss to the Yankees. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over six innings while striking out two.

The only damage against King came in the fourth inning when he served up a solo shot to Aaron Judge and an RBI single to Jasson Dominguez. King tied season lows with just two punchouts and five whiffs. He completed six innings for the first time since firing a complete game against the Rockies on April 13 and was in line for the victory before San Diego's bullpen gave up 10 runs in the seventh inning. King is sporting an impressive 2.22 ERA with a 48:14 K:BB through eight starts. He's currently in line to face the Angels at home next week.

Povich (1-3) took the loss against Minnesota on Tuesday, allowing five runs on six hits while striking out four over six innings. He did not issue a walk.

Povich faced the minimum number of batters through the first two innings, but he got roughed up for five runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run homer by Carlos Correa. Povich went on to retire the next the next nine batters he faced and finished with 10 whiffs on 103 pitches (63 strikes), but he couldn't avoid the loss as the Twins' offense was limited to one run. It's the second time the 25-year-old southpaw has given up at least five runs in a start this season, and he's up to a 5.55 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 29:12 over 35.2 innings. Povich is slated to start against the Angels on the road this weekend.
