Athletics' Rich Hill: Expects to start Sunday
Hill (hand) expects to start Sunday against the Blue Jays, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
While the A's have yet to formally announce a starter for Sunday, Hill declared himself ready after a successful bullpen session Friday, and the team has every incentive to maximize his number of starts before the trade deadline. The 36-year-old showed no lingering effects from the groin injury that cost him over a month in his first two starts of July, allowing three runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out 16 in 12 total innings.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Rays' Alex Cobb: Will throw bullpen session
Cobb (elbow) is set to throw a bullpen session Sunday to work on mechanics, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Cobb's next rehab appearance will be pushed back to Tuesday or Wednesday as the Rays want him to throw a bullpen session to work on some mechanical issues. He's given up four earned runs over 1.2 rehab innings so far but Cobb and Rays manager Kevin Cash are saying the 28-year-old's struggles are not due to a setback with his elbow. Given the righty has not pitched in the majors since 2014, Tampa Bay will likely continue to take the necessary precautions to bring him back to his old form.

Athletics' Rich Hill: Throws full bullpen session Friday
Hill (blister) threw a full bullpen session Friday, John Hickey of the Bay Area News Group reports.
According to the report, Hill has a "decent chance" to start Sunday against the Blue Jays after being scratched from his scheduled start Friday, as he did not appear to be affected by the blister during his bullpen session. The lefty missed a good chunk of the first half with a groin issue but has been excellent when on the mound, going 9-3 with a 2.25 ERA in 13 starts. If he had enough innings to qualify, Hill would rank fourth among all starters with a 2.57 FIP.

Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX
Yankees' Nathan Eovaldi: Will make start Tuesday
Eovaldi will start Tuesday against Baltimore, the Journal News reports.
Eovaldi is set to make his first start of the second half next week following a brief demotion to the bullpen. Eovaldi had a rough month of June, allowing four or more earned runs in each of his five starts resulting in a 8.65 ERA for the month. He's bounced back over his last two outings however, allowing only one hit and no earned runs over his last 6.1 innings.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Recalled from Triple-A
The Red Sox recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday.
Rodriguez spent the last couple weeks in the minors after posting a 10.03 ERA over five June starts, but he will re-join Boston's rotation coming out of the All-Star break. He will first take the ball Saturday against the Yankees -- a team he has not faced this season, but had success against in 2015, posting a 3-1 record and 2.22 ERA over four starts.

Dylan Bundy SP | NYM
Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Will join rotation out of break
The Orioles announced Friday that Bundy will start Sunday's game against the Rays, Eduardo Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Bundy worked exclusively as a reliever in the first half, but the Orioles -- desperate to solidify a couple spots in their rotation -- will give him at least one chance to start for the big league club, and hand him the ball Sunday for his first major league start. Bundy's 1.53 first-half WHIP raises an eyebrow, but he showed improvement after the calendar turned to June, posting a 1.18 WHIP while also striking out 22 batters in 17 innings over seven appearances.

Red Sox's Eduardo Rodriguez: Starting Saturday
Updating a previous report, Rodriguez is scheduled to pitch for Boston on Saturday, according to MLB.com.
An earlier report had the Red Sox calling up Rodriguez to start Friday's game against the Yankees, but that start is going to Steven Wright. The Red Sox are confident the left-hander's problem with pitch-tipping has been rectified and their anxious for him to regain the form he had during his rookie season in 2015.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: No promotion planned
Severino will not rejoin the big league club "unless the need arises," according to GM Brian Cashman, the New York Post reports.
Severino has fared much better in the minors this season, where he's gone 5-1 with a 3.18 ERA as compared to an 0-6, 7.46 ERA mark over seven major league starts. Despite the improvement since being demoted, it appears as though there are no imminent plans to give the 22-year-old another chance just yet. He'll likely be high on the list though should the Yankees find themselves in need of an injury replacement or a spot start candidate.

Alex Cobb SP | DET
Rays' Alex Cobb: Set to throw bullpen Thursday
Cobb (elbow) is expected to throw a bullpen session Thursday before a third rehab start this weekend, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Cobb has been roughed up in his first two rehab outings, recording two losses and giving up four earned runs over 1.2 innings. The Rays are likely to ease the 28-year-old back into game form as he hasn't pitched in the majors since 2014 as he makes his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Given his struggles in his rehab stints so far, it's likely Cobb could be held in the minors for another three to four weeks as he makes his way back to 100 percent.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Athletics' Rich Hill: Scratched from Friday's start with a blister
Hill has been scratched from his scheduled start on Friday due to a blister, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Hill had been lined up to make the first start for the A's after the break, but now will wait for his blister to subside before taking the mound. He has been very strong so far in 2016 with a 2.25 ERA over 13 starts with a sparkling 10.7 K/9. Hill is likely to be at the center of many trade rumors for the next two weeks as the trade deadline approaches.
