Perez allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Sunday.

Perez was solid, but the two runs against him were from Eugenio Suarez hits (solo home run, RBI single). The left-hander has now gone at least six innings in nine straight starts -- he continues to provide solid length, and this was the first time he's allowed multiple runs since May 10. Perez owns a sparkling 1.56 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 56:16 K:BB through 69.1 innings in 11 starts overall. He'll likely make his next start in Chicago against the White Sox next weekend.

Kirby allowed two runs on five hits and struck out three over six innings Sunday versus the Rangers. He walked none, and he didn't factor in the decision.

Through six starts, Kirby has shown impressive control, permitting just three walks in 32 innings. He's also logged three quality starts so far, though he has just a 1-1 record to show for it. The 24-year-old right-hander will carry a 3.38 ERA and 1.09 WHIP into his next start, tentatively set for a home matchup versus the Red Sox next weekend.

Gausman (5-4) yielded five runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk over 3.2 innings, striking out three and taking a loss against the Twins on Sunday.

All five runs allowed by Gausman came during the first two innings, including three in the first. He's now given up three earned runs in each of his last two starts, raising his season ERA to 2.84 with an impressive 73:7 K:BB through 11 starts. The 31-year-old is 2-3 with a 3.71 ERA over his last five outings. Gausman is expected to start in Detroit next week.

Kremer (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out three in 4.1 innings to take the loss in Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Kremer made the Orioles' Opening Day roster this year, but he's been dealing with an oblique injury since early April that prevented him from pitching in the majors prior to Sunday. The righty gave up a three-run homer with two outs in the first inning, but he held the Guardians scoreless during the rest of his outing. In total, Kremer threw 67 pitches (46 strikes), but he took the loss in the low-scoring matchup. He tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Kansas City on Sunday.

Montas (2-6) took the loss during Sunday's 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Red Sox, allowing four runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Montas was lucky to escape the first inning with only one run on his ledger despite four hits but didn't fare as well in the sixth, when a Kevin Smith error extended the inning and allowed for a go-ahead Franchy Cordero three-run home run. Oakland has now lost each of the 29-year-old's last nine even though Montas features a solid 2.87 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 61 strikeouts during those 53.1 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column against Cleveland next weekend.

Hill (2-3) earned the win during Sunday's 5-2 victory over Oakland, allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts in six innings.

Hill surrendered one run on two hits in the first inning and proceeded to retire the next 16 batters before permitting a leadoff single in the seventh, prompting his removal. By game score, Sunday's start was the 42-year-old's second-best performance of the season and only his second quality start in 10 turns. Hill carries a 4.40 ERA and 1.18 WHIP into a projected start next weekend against Seattle.

Montgomery allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five in 6.1 innings during Sunday's win over the Tigers. He didn't factor into the decision.

Montgomery picked up his first win of the season during his last outing, but he settled for yet another no-decision Sunday despite posting his third consecutive quality start. Over the first two months of the season, the left-hander has posted a 3.02 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 59.2 innings over 11 starts. Montgomery projects to make his next start at home against the Cubs on Saturday.

Valdez (6-2) earned the win Sunday over the Royals. He allowed two runs on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts in six innings.

Valdez didn't give up any runs until his last inning, yielding a two-run home run to Salvador Perez. This was Valdez's fifth straight win, and he's allowed multiple runs in only two of those outings. The southpaw has a 2.61 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 55:25 K:BB across 69 innings in 11 starts this year. He lines up for a home start versus the Marlins next weekend.

Mace (calf) was activated from the minor-league injured list and will start for High-A Lake County on Sunday.

Mace missed three weeks with the calf injury. He'll work as the starter in a piggyback tandem Sunday -- he had covered only 20 innings in his first six starts prior to getting hurt.

Watkins (forearm) has thrown off a mound three times and expects to be activated from the injured list Tuesday when first eligible, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Watkins' progress is encouraging, though it hasn't been determined if he'll need a a rehab assignment first. If he does, he'll likely be out a little beyond the 15-day minimum, but in any case, it seems the right-hander should be ready soon. It's also unclear if Watkins will return to a rotation spot -- most likely over Kyle Bradish -- or see some long-relief work initially after activation.
