Sandoval (3-2) took the loss Sunday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk over 7.2 innings in a 4-3 loss against the Guardians. He struck out five.

Sandoval was sharp Sunday, allowing just an unearned run through his first seven innings before Josh Naylor smacked a go-ahead, three-run homer off Carlos Estevez in the bottom of the eighth, handing Sandoval the loss. Still, the 26-year-old left-hander has gotten off to a solid start in May, going 1-1 with a 3.32 ERA in his last three outings (19 innings). Sandoval now sports a 3.22 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP and 31:16 K:BB through 44.2 innings this season.

Bibee did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on two hits and zero walks over 7.2 innings against the Angels. He struck out seven.

Bibee was dominant Sunday, shutting out the Angels until the eighth inning. It was a strong bounce-back effort from the rookie right-hander after he allowed four runs in 3.2 innings in his last outing. Bibee has now allowed two runs or fewer in three of his first four Major-League starts. He's 1-1 with a 3.22 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 22:4 K:BB through 22.1 innings. Bibee has certainly done his part to earn a permanent spot in Cleveland's rotation, even when Aaron Civale (oblique) and Triston McKenzie (shoulder) are ready to return. He's currently lined up to face the Mets in his next outing.

Giolito (2-3) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks over six innings against the Astros. He struck out six.

Giolito put the White Sox in a quick hole after he gave up three runs on four hits in the opening frame. He settled in afterward, with his only other blemish on the day coming in the fourth after he allowed a solo home run to Yainer Diaz. Sunday was the third start of the year during which Giolito didn't issue any free passes, and he's recorded at least six strikeouts in seven of his nine outings. Despite pitching well thus far, the 28-year-old sits at two wins through the first month and a half of the season. He'll take a 3.86 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 56:11 K:BB over 53.2 innings into his next projected start against the Royals.

Brown (4-1) earned the win Sunday over the White Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out eight over 5.2 innings.

Brown was en route to picking up his fourth quality start of the season, but the Sox chased him out of the sixth after Jake Burger connected on a first pitch curveball over the field wall to make it a 4-3 ballgame. Brown also gave up a home run to Luis Robert in the fourth inning but tied his season high with eight strikeouts and registered 19 missed swings. The 24-year-old hadn't given up a home run in any of his first six starts of the year but has let up three over his last two outings. Brown now has a 3.43 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 47:17 K:BB over 44.2 innings. He's set up for a favorable matchup against the Athletics next weekend.

Gilbert did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over 5.2 innings against the Tigers. He struck out four.

Gilbert allowed a run in the opening frame, another one in the third and then couldn't quite make it through the sixth after Andy Ibanez doubled off him with two outs. Trevor Gott allowed the inherited runner to score before he was able to close out the inning. Gilbert wasn't as effective as usual Sunday. He allowed 10 hard hit balls and had a season-low four strikeouts while just missing out on a third consecutive quality start against one of the weaker offenses in the league. Still, Gilbert has allowed three runs or less in six of his eight starts on the year and will take a 3.91 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 54:9 K:BB into his next projected start against Atlanta.

Eflin (5-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings against the Yankees. He struck out nine.

Eflin was charged with four runs in the third inning on a pair of two-run homers from Oswaldo Cabrera and Anthony Rizzo. However, Eflin would eventually earn the win after the Rays scored five runs in the fifth and hung on for an 8-7 victory. The 29-year-old right-hander has now surrendered eight runs in his last two outings after allowing just seven runs in his first five starts this season. Eflin still sports a solid 3.38 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 44:5 K:BB through 40 innings on the campaign.

Schmidt (1-4) took the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings against the Rays. He struck out five.

Schmidt had been solid in his previous two outings, allowing just two earned runs in his last 10.1 innings. He struggled Sunday, however, allowing a run in the first inning and another two in the third before the Rays posted a five spot in the fifth. Schmidt now has a 6.30 ERA with a 1.65 WHIP and 48:14 K:BB through nine starts (40 innings). The 27-year-old Schmidt may not stick in the Yankees' rotation for long with Luis Severino (lat) nearing a return.

Kluber (2-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings Sunday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Cardinals.

Most of the damage against Kluber on Sunday came via the long ball, including Andrew Knizner's two-run shot in the fourth inning. Kluber was 2-0 in his last three starts after beginning the year 0-4 but found his way back to the loss column. His ERA rose to an ugly 6.41 with a 33:15 K:BB through eight starts. Kluber's next start is currently projected to be in San Diego.

Went allowed three runs on six hits across 2.2 innings and did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Mariners. He walked one and struck out three.

Wentz picked up his first win of the season in his last start but took a step backwards Sunday. It was the righty's second shortest outing of the year, as the Tigers decided to turn things over to their bullpen after seeing Wentz toss 59 pitches without having much success. Injuries have forced him to step into a rotation spot, though fantasy managers should avoid Wentz and his 6.38 ERA.

Sears allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out six over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Sunday.

Sears did well in this start aside from a two-run home run by Robbie Grossman in the first inning. Adolis Garcia also knocked an RBI single in the third, but the Athletics were briefly able to pull even in the seventh to get Sears off the hook. The southpaw now has a 5.27 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 44:9 K:BB through 42.2 innings across eight starts. He's lined up for a tough road start in Houston for his next time on the mound.
