Jacob Latz RP | TEX
Rangers' Jacob Latz: Sent to IL with forearm tightness
The Rangers placed Latz on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left forearm tightness.
Though Latz's diagnosis of forearm tightness can often be a precursor to a procedure, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com relays that the Rangers have no concern about the left-hander potentially needing Tommy John surgery. Instead, Latz looks like he'll be able to treat the injury through rest and rehab, though a timeline for his return from the IL likely won't be known until he's cleared to start throwing again. The Rangers called up lefty Brock Burke from Triple-A Round Rock to take Latz's spot in the bullpen.

Brock Burke RP | CIN
Rangers' Brock Burke: Summoned from Triple-A
The Rangers recalled Burke from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
Burke will ring in his 28th birthday with a return to the big club after spending just over a month in the minors. The southpaw has been roughed up over his 10 appearances out of the Texas bullpen this season, giving up eight earned runs on 13 hits and six walks while striking out 11 across 9.2 innings.

Marc Church P | TEX
Rangers' Marc Church: Starting up rehab assignment
Church (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Hickory on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
A member of the Rangers' 40-man roster, Church has yet to make his MLB debut and has been out since mid-April with a right lat strain. He remains on Triple-A Round Rock's 60-day injured list and will likely require multiple rehab appearances in the lower levels of the minors before he rejoins the Rangers' top affiliate.

Sean Guenther RP | DET
Tigers' Sean Guenther: Heads back to Triple-A
The Tigers optioned Guenther to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
He'll cede his spot on the active roster to lefty Brant Hurter, who was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move and is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Alex Faedo in Sunday's game against the Royals. Following his promotion from Toledo on Thursday, Guenther made one appearance out of the Detroit bullpen, giving up an earned run on one hit and two hit batsmen over 1.1 innings.

Collin Snider RP | CHC
Mariners' Collin Snider: Picks up second win
Snider (2-1) got the extra-inning win against the Phillies on Saturday, firing a scoreless 10th inning during which he issued a walk and recorded two strikeouts.
Snider was tasked with preserving a 5-5 tie after both Yimi Garcia and Andres Munoz had put in an inning apiece earlier in the contest. The 28-year-old responded with an impressive 18-pitch showing, posting his sixth consecutive scoreless effort in the process. Snider has only two holds alongside his pair of victories, but his 1.31 ERA and 25:4 K:BB across 20.2 innings is worthy of high-leverage spots when the need arises.

Ian Hamilton RP | ATL
Yankees' Ian Hamilton: Increasing intensity of throwing
Hamilton (lat) is scheduled to throw a high-intensity bullpen session Tuesday, per MLB.com.
Hamilton is recovering from the lat strain he suffered in mid-June. The righty reliever resumed throwing in early July but has yet to face live hitters. That could be his next step if Tuesday's session goes well, and Hamilton may be able to begin a minor-league rehab assignment within the next two weeks with a goal of rejoining the Yankees in late August or early September.

Ben Joyce RP | LAA
Angels' Ben Joyce: Collects first save
Joyce picked up the save over the Mets on Saturday, hurling 1.1 perfect innings while striking out one batter.
Joyce entered the contest with two outs in the top of the eighth and a runner on third and was able to get Tyrone Taylor to ground out to escape the frame. The right-hander returned for the ninth and retired all three batters he faced, topping things off with a swinging strikeout of J.D. Martinez on a 104 mph fastball to end the game and secure his first save of the campaign. It stands to reason that the dazzling performance will earn Joyce more save opportunities moving forward, especially after Hunter Strickland coughed up multiple runs in the seventh of Saturday's contest to put the Angels behind late. The former has not allowed a run since June 11 against the Diamondbacks.

Alex Faedo SP | TB
Tigers' Alex Faedo: Drawing opener assignment Sunday
Faedo will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Faedo will be making his third start of the season, but he's pitched just two and one innings in those outings and will likely be in store for a similar workload Sunday. Once Faedo exits the contest, left-hander Brant Hurter is expected to take over and serve as Detroit's bulk reliever in what will be his MLB debut.
