Fernando Rodriguez RP | BOS
Athletics' Fernando Rodriguez: Set for MRI on Tuesday
Rodriguez (shoulder) will undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Rodriguez threw just one pitch in Sunday's game against the Pirates before feeling pain in his shoulder, resulting in the A's quickly pulling him from the contest. The team wasted no time in transferring him to the disabled list earlier in the day Monday, but the MRI should determine the full extent of his injury. For now, Rodriguez has been diagnosed with a right shoulder strain.

Chad Green RP | TOR
Yankees' Chad Green: Set to earn another start Friday
Green will make another start for the Yankees on Friday against the Indians, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Manager Joe Girardi has decided to limit the struggling Nathan Eovaldi to bullpen duties leading up to the All-Star break, paving the way for Green to get another turn in the rotation. He turned in an excellent outing Sunday against the Padres, conceding just one run on three hits and no walks over six innings while striking out eight men, but the red-hot Indians will represent a dramatic step up in competition. At this stage, Green may only represent a viable fantasy option in AL-only leagues.

Trevor May RP | ATH
Twins' Trevor May: Won't be activated Monday
May (back) will not be activated from the DL until at least Tuesday and maybe a day or two longer, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
May appeared in games at Triple-A on Friday and Saturday, so he's ready to return. However, the Twins may wait another day or two to correspond with some other roster moves.

Danny Coulombe RP | BOS
Athletics' Daniel Coulombe: Optioned to Triple-A
Coulombe was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
The Athletics will make some wholesale changes to their bullpen in advance of Monday's series opener with the Twins, bringing up Andrew Triggs and Patrick Schuster from the minors to replace Coulombe and Fernando Rodriguez (shoulder), who is bound for the DL. Coulombe owned a 4.50 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB ratio over 18 innings with the Athletics this season.

Fernando Rodriguez RP | BOS
Athletics' Fernando Rodriguez: Placed on 15-day DL
Rodriguez (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day DL on Monday.
Rodriguez suffered a shoulder strain during his appearance Sunday against the Pirates, and while he has yet to undergo an MRI, the Athletics determined the reliever was dealing with more than a day-to-day situation. In order to compensate for Rodriguez's absence, the Athletics added Andrew Triggs and Patrick Schuster to help bolster the bullpen depth.

Matt Moore RP | BOS
Rays' Matt Moore: Not paying mind to trade rumors
Moore remains unconcerned with the increasing amount of trade rumors surrounding him, freelance Rays writer Roger Mooney reports. "Obviously that's external," Moore said of the trade rumors. "There are things that are going on in our clubhouse that are on the forefront of my mind right now, and that's to get us back in a good place, which is to win more games than we're losing."
The southpaw next takes the hill Monday afternoon against the Angels, looking to even his season record at 5-5. The appearance figures to once again attract scouts from the Royals and Rangers at a minimum, two teams that have openly been considering Moore. The 26-year-old has three quality starts in his last four trips to the mound, including two shutout performances of seven innings apiece. Moore maintains he is not affected by the trade talk and isn't keeping tabs on any rumors, although friends and family are providing updates as needed. At least publicly, he maintains some skepticism that a move would even take place. "But for that other stuff, I still feel very comfortable where we are right now," he said. "I'm not really sure what's going on there, but I don't feel like anything is going to happen, to be honest with you."

Danny Farquhar RP | TB
Rays' Danny Farquhar: Continues to struggle in Sunday outing
Farquhar gave up two earned runs on two hits and a walk over 1.1 innings in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Tigers. He struck out two.
The 29-year-old reliever continues to struggle, now having given up at least one earned run in five of his last six trips to the mound. The long ball has primarily been Farquhar's undoing, as he's given up a homer in each of those appearances. The veteran right-hander's ERA is up to a bloated 6.75 following Sunday's performance, and he's seen that figure rise after each of his last six outings.

Matt Andriese RP | MIA
Rays' Matt Andriese: Drops second decision of season Sunday
Andriese (6-2) gave up two earned runs on a hit and a walk over 1.2 innings in Sunday's 5- 1 loss to the Tigers.
Andriese has now dropped two straight decisions after starting out the season by winning five starts and his first bullpen appearance back on June 15. The 26-year-old had garnered his first hold of the season in his previous trip to the mound on June 30 by pitching three innings of shutout ball in the opening tilt of the four-game set versus the Tigers on Thursday, but gave up a leadoff double to Ian Kinsler and intentionally walked Miguel Cabrera in the eighth before being pulled for Xavier Cedeno. Cedeno subsequently allowed both of Andriese's runners to score, saddling him with the loss. Despite the hiccup, Andriese remains one of the Rays' most viable options for longer relief stints.

Pat Venditte RP | LAD
Blue Jays' Pat Venditte: Making strides since returning to minors
In seven appearances since his demotion from Toronto to Triple-A Buffalo on June 13, Venditte has posted a 1.74 ERA with 12 strikeouts over 10.1 innings.
Venditte has improved his ERA in all seven outings since returning, and has it down to a season-low 3.09 in Buffalo. He's been called to the bigs a few times this season, but hasn't done much to earn himself a permanent gig up there. In eight games this season with the Blue Jays, Venditte posted a 5.19 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. It's unclear whether his recent success will earn him another shot with Toronto.

Fernando Rodriguez RP | BOS
Athletics' Fernando Rodriguez: To undergo MRI on shoulder
Rodriguez is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his shoulder Sunday, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.
The reliever has already been diagnosed with a shoulder strain, and the MRI figures to reveal the extent of the damage. He left Sunday's relief appearance after recording just one out. Stiglich acknowledged the possibility of a DL stint for Rodriguez depending on the results of the MRI, so the A's could be making a roster move in the near future if Rodriguez winds up having to miss extended time.
