  • Jakob Junis RP | TEX

Royals' Jakob Junis: Knocked around by A's

Junis (5-6) was dealt the loss against Oakland on Friday, as he got knocked around for six earned runs on 10 hits over 5.1 innings, striking out five and walking one as the Royals lost 7-2.

Junis had fired two quality starts in a row coming into this contest, but he couldn't keep up the positive momentum. He got off to a roaring start to the season with a 2.03 ERA over his first four starts, but he's cooled since then, as this rough outing brought his ERA up to 4.05 through 80 innings. That's closer to the 4.30 mark he put up over his 98.1 innings last year, so it would probably be wise to expect Junis to hover around that number as the season progresses. That said, if he can maintain the pace of his current 1.19 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB, he would continue to hold fantasy value even without an elite-level ERA.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Records 22nd save of season

Diaz pitched 1.1 scoreless innings for the save Friday against the Rays, striking out two and walking zero while allowing two hits.

Diaz went more than one inning for just the second time this year, throwing 20 pitches (14 strikes) to record his MLB-leading 22nd save. Diaz is holding opponents to a .152 batting average while sporting a 54:12 K:BB in 33 innings. The Mariners' penchant for close games works in Diaz's favor as one of the preeminent closers in the game.

  • Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Notches 16th save on Friday

Chapman pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save in Friday's win over the Mets, allowing one hit while issuing no walks and no strikeouts.

Afterward, Chapman had his left knee wrapped and was walking gingerly in the clubhouse, but he reportedly plans on pitching through the injury. This was only the second time all season in which Chapman didn't record a strikeout in an appearance, the other time coming on April 27 against the Angels. Nonetheless he's still sporting a superb 46:11 K:BB in 26.2 innings to go along with a .143 batting average against. The lefty is now 16-for-17 in save chances.

  • Tyler Duffey RP | KC

Twins' Tyler Duffey: Banished to minors

Duffey was optioned to Triple-A Rochester following Friday's 4-2 loss to the Angels, Dan Hayes of The Athletic Minnesota reports.

Duffey made three relief appearances during his latest big-league stint, tossing five scoreless innings and striking out three. A corresponding roster move is expected to be made prior to Saturday's tilt.

  • Hunter Harvey RP | CHC

Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Scratched with shoulder injury

Harvey was scratched from his scheduled start Friday at Double-A Bowie with a sore right shoulder, the Baltimore Sun reports.

His shoulder popped out of its socket and he'll be evaluated again in two weeks, according to the report. Harvey, a 2013 first-round draft pick, was scuffling at Double-A Bowie with a 5.57 ERA, but a 3.57 FIP.

  • Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Dealing with potential injury

Chapman had his left knee wrapped and was walking gingerly following Friday's victory over the Mets, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic New York reports.

Chapman was examined in the ninth inning after he was seen limping, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports, but he was able to remain in the game. It doesn't appear like he'll miss any time, despite stating that he's been dealing with left knee tendinitis for the last three weeks, and he plans to keep pitching through the injury, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Mariners' Alex Colome: Falters against former teammates

Colome allowed two earned runs on two hits and a hit batsman over one inning in a win over the Rays on Thursday. He struck out one.

Last week, Colome had stymied his former squad while earning a pair of holds at Safeco Field, but it was a different story Thursday. Brought on with Wilson Ramos at second and none out in the ninth to protect a 5-1 lead, Colome promptly retired Matt Duffy and the debuting Jake Bauers on a groundout and strikeout, respectively, before plunking Carlos Gomez. A Mallex Smith single later, Johnny Field touched Colome up for a bases-clearing two-bagger that brought the Rays within a run. Colome was subsequently able to close out the game by retiring Daniel Robertson on a game-ending roller to third, but the two runs he surrendered marked the first blemishes on his Mariners resume across five appearances.

  • Joe Palumbo RP | TEX

Rangers' Joe Palumbo: Throws live BP

Palumbo (elbow) has started throwing live batting practice, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

It's been a long road back for Palumbo, who underwent Tommy John elbow surgery in April of 2017. The Rangers are hoping the left-hander will advance to pitching in games by the start of July.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Astros' Ken Giles: Appears in non-save situation

Giles finished off Thursday's 5-2 win over the Rangers by allowing a run on two hits while striking out one over one inning.

Giles, who was making his first appearance in four days, entered the game with Houston holding a four-run lead, making it his second consecutive appearance in a non-save situation. Not so coincidentally, it was the second straight appearance in which he's allowed runs. He's been perfect in save situations, but much less so when given a big cushion. Across 13 appearances in a non-save situations, Giles has a 9.82 ERA.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Records 14th save

Treinen struck out one in a clean ninth inning to record his 14th save of the season Thursday against the Royals.

Treinen recorded one of his easier saves of the season, entering the game with a three-run lead. He took care of the top of the Royals' lineup with few problems, as he didn't allow a baserunner and needed only 13 pitches to secure the win. He has now converted 14 of 16 save opportunities this season and ranks fifth in the American League in saves.
