  • Ryan Borucki RP | SF

Blue Jays' Ryan Borucki: Called up for big-league debut

Borucki was called up as expected Tuesday and will make his major-league debut against the Astros.

Borucki could hardly have asked for a tougher opponent in his first career outing. The 24-year-old has a solid 3.27 ERA in 13 starts for Triple-A Buffalo this season, though his 18.4 percent strikeout rate is mediocre at best. Borucki projects as a back-end starter, with fringe command and a plus changeup backing up an average fastball. Gio Urshela was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Donnie Hart RP | BAL

Orioles' Donnie Hart: Brought back up

Hart was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Hart was optioned to Norfolk on Monday, but the Orioles brought him back just one day later as an injury replacement for Dylan Bundy (ankle), who landed on the disabled list. Hart had a 1.35 ERA at the big-league level this year before giving up two earned runs in his last outing Saturday, but he had been working mainly in mop-up duty and figures to remain in that role.

  • Dylan Covey RP | ATL

White Sox's Dylan Covey: On track to make next start

Covey (hip) did not experience any issues while throwing a side session Tuesday and is on track to make his next scheduled start, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.

The White Sox have not confirmed their starters for their upcoming series with the Rangers that begins Friday, but with Covey making it through Tuesday's workout without issue, he is on track to take the ball that day with an extra day of rest thanks to Monday's team off day.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Notches 18th save Monday

Treinen logged his 18th save in a win over the Tigers on Monday, allowing a hit and recording a strikeout over a scoreless ninth inning.

Treinen continues rolling along, with Monday's scoreless effort coaxing his ERA down to an outstanding 0.96. The veteran has surrendered all of two earned runs over his last 16 appearances, a stretch that dates back to May 15. Moreover, he's enhanced his already robust fantasy value by also notching four wins alongside his 18 saves, sparkling ERA and equally impressive 0.90 WHIP.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Mariners' Alex Colome: Mixed bag in June

Colome earned his eighth hold with a scoreless eighth inning against the Orioles on Monday, striking out two. He sports a 5.87 ERA across 7.2 innings in June (nine appearances).

Colome has been more good than bad during the month, as the five earned runs he's allowed have come over three appearances. He's logged seven holds overall in June, although he was also charged with a blown save last Wednesday against the Yankees. Colome seems to be adjusting fairly well to a setup role in front of closer Edwin Diaz, but it's worth noting he's seen increases in both flyball (22.7 percent to 37.0 percent) and hard contact rate (24.2 percent to 33.3 percent) since arriving from the Rays via trade May 24.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Grabs 28th save Monday

Diaz notched his 28th save in a win over the Orioles on Monday, recording two strikeouts over a perfect ninth inning.

It took all of 12 pitches, nine of which found the strike zone, for Diaz to knife through the trio of Trey Mancini, Jonathan Schoop and Tim Beckham. The dominant outing represented a nice rebound for Diaz, who'd allowed a pair of earned runs on three hits over an inning to the Red Sox in his last appearance. Factoring in Monday's line, the 24-year-old boasts nine saves and a sparkling 18:2 K:BB across 11.1 June innings.

  • Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY

Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Likely on tap for long relief Thursday

Yarbrough is expected to serve as the Rays' primary pitcher in Thursday's series opener against the Astros in relief of likely starter Ryne Stanek, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Before confirming their plans for Thursday, the Rays will presumably monitor the bullpen's usage in Tuesday's game against the Nationals. If Stanek nor Yarbrough are used extensively, both pitchers should be available Thursday, with the latter covering the bulk of the innings. Stanek hasn't recorded more than six outs in any of his seven "starts" this season, while Yarbrough has covered between 3.1 and 5.1 innings the three times this month he has relieved either Stanek or Jonny Venters.

  • Ryne Stanek RP | STL

Rays' Ryne Stanek: Likely to serve as opener Thursday

Rays skipper Kevin Cash said Stanek would likely open Thursday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays will presumably wait and see if Stanek is needed in relief Tuesday against the Nationals before confirming him as Thursday's starter. Stanek has previously opened seven games for the Rays, but has been asked to record no more than six outs in any of those contests. Though Stanek may technically start against the Astros, it's expected that long reliever Ryan Yarbrough will cover the bulk of the innings out of the bullpen.

  • Yankees' Jonathan Loaisiga: Strikes out eight in win over Phillies

Loaisiga (2-0) tossed 5.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Monday against the Phillies, striking out eight while allowing one hit and two walks.

Loaisiga enjoyed an excellent outing in this one, delivering new career highs in innings pitched and strikeouts at the MLB level. Hew threw an impressive 66 percent of his pitches for strikes, including 15 swinging strikes, and induced six groundball outs to stifle the visitors. Loaisiga was roughed up a bit in his previous outing, but this bounce-back effort gives him a sterling 1.93 ERA to go along with an 11.6 K/9 through 14 innings with the Yanks. He'll face his toughest test yet in his next scheduled start against the Braves.

  • Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Allows homer in four-out save

Chapman allowed a solo home run but still recorded his 23rd save of the season while striking out three over 1.1 innings Monday against the Phillies.

Chapman was called upon with two outs in the eighth inning and closed out the frame on one pitch with the tying man at the plate. He allowed a solo home run in the ninth inning, ending a string of 11 straight scoreless outings, but he still closed out the two-run victory. Chapman now carries a 1.29 ERA and 0.86 WHIP while sitting second in the American League in saves.
