The Red Sox will option Shawaryn to Triple-A Pawtucket prior to Tuesday's series opener against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Shawaryn was one of several pitchers who was lit up over the weekend during the two-game London series with the Yankees in which Boston surrendered 29 runs. The right-hander was charged with eight of those runs Saturday, when he needed 53 pitches just to record four outs. His demotion to Triple-A could signal that the Red Sox are ready to reinstate fellow reliever Heath Hembree (forearm) from the 10-day injured list.

Treinen (shoulder) will make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

A report Saturday had confirmed Treinen would be making a rehab appearance for one of the Athletics' minor-league affiliates, and this latest news confirms that outing will be with the Aviators. Treinen is expected to only need one turn at the minor-league level before activation when first eligible Wednesday.

Carasiti will serve as the opener in Tuesday's interleague series opener against the Cardinals.

Carasiti most recently filled the role against the Astros on Saturday, firing a scoreless first inning in that appearance. The right-hander has yet to allow a run over his first three outings since his callup June 23, a solid start he'll look to extend against a light-hitting St. Louis squad.

Colome collected the save Sunday after throwing 1.1 scoreless innings against the Twins.

Colome retired the final four batters of the contest with ease, firing 13 of 18 pitches for strikes. The 30-year-old right-hander did blow a save Wednesday against Boston, but he's managed to bounce back by converting on both of his last two save opportunities.

Hand allowed two hits and a walk but struck out the side in the ninth inning to record his 23rd save of the season in a 2-0 victory over the Orioles on Sunday.

In his first action since his first blown save of the year last Tuesday, Hand was shaky again, but he did manage to record a couple key strikeouts. Hand gave up five runs without registering an out in his last appearance; that catapulted his ERA nearly 1.5 runs higher than it was. But Hand is still 23-for-24 in save opportunities with a 4-3 record this season. He also has a 2.29 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 53 strikeouts in 35.1 innings.

Scott was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Scott posted a 3.86 ERA with six strikeouts over 4.2 innings during his latest big-league stint, but he'll head back to the minors following Sunday's loss to the Indians. The Orioles have yet to announce a corresponding move.

Triple-A Round Rock placed Perez on its 7-day injured list Sunday with an unspecified issue, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Perez was sent back to the minors earlier this month after giving up 10 runs in eight innings spanning three appearances out of the Houston bullpen. The injury will hurt his chances of resurfacing with the big club before rosters expand in September.

Heller (elbow) moved his rehab assignment to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

On the mend from 2018 Tommy John surgery, Heller has reached the final phase of his long recovery program. The 27-year-old right-hander will move up the minor-league ladder after tossing 2.2 scoreless frames across his two appearances with High-A Tampa. The Yankees will have until late July to formally reinstate him from the 60-day injured list and add him to the 25-man roster or option him to the minors.

Yarbrough is expected to serve as the Rays' bulk reliever for Monday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Yarbrough missed out on his normally scheduled outing as a starter/bulk reliever during the past week after he was needed late in Thursday's 18-inning game against the Twins. Fortunately for fantasy managers that included him in weekly lineups, Yarbrough was able to scoop up the win while striking out five in three scoreless frames. He'll be able to work deeper into Monday's outing and projects to be the Rays pitcher most likely to factor into any decision.

Chavez (3-3) yielded four runs (three earned) on five hits across six innings Sunday, striking out eight and taking the loss against Tampa Bay.

Most of the damage against Chavez came in the fourth and fifth innings, when he allowed three runs, including a solo shot from Tommy Pham. His season ERA bumped to 2.97 in 57.2 innings. For now, it appears that Chavez should stick around the Rangers' rotation. He is scheduled to make his next start in Minnesota on Friday.
