Loaisiga allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out three and walking one across three innings Sunday against the Nationals. He did not factor into the decision.

Loaisiga threw 51 pitches, which fell in line with pre-game expectations. The only notable blemish on his outing was a solo home run he surrendered to Trea Turner in the third frame. Regardless of whether Loaisiga is starting contests or working as a multi-inning reliever, it's unlikely that he'll far surpass Sunday's workload as he has not exceeded four innings pitched in an outing since the middle of the 2018 campaign.

Lopez exited Sunday's start against the Twins with the athletic trainer after retiring two of the seven batters he faced, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

The 26-year-old struggled with his control and his velocity was down a bit; he delivered only 19 of his 38 pitches for strikes as he allowed four runs on three hits and two walks. Lopez was seen wincing after delivering his final pitch, but the specifics of the situation remain unclear.

Anderson (1-0) fired 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win in Saturday's victory over the Blue Jays, allowing one hit and no walks.

A modest total of 14 pitches, 11 which got into the strike zone, is all it took for Anderson to record four outs and preserve a 1-1 tie. The 30-year-old inherited a high-leverage situation when he came on with two on and two out in the seventh, but he induced an inning-ending popup from Lourdes Gurriel to strand Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio. Anderson could certainly be in line for closing opportunities at times this season, but his above-average stuff and control also make him a natural fit for a role akin to the one he filled Saturday.

Robles picked up the save in Saturday's win over the Athletics, tossing one perfect inning and striking out one batter.

Robles had a disappointing season debut against Oakland on Friday, but he bounced back with a clean ninth inning in his first save opportunity Saturday. The right-hander threw 12 of 18 pitches for strikes and got ahead of each of the three batters he faced in the outing. Robles converted 23 of 27 save chances in his first season as a full-time closer last season.

Loaisiga is starting Sunday's game against the Nationals. He will throw around 50 pitches if all goes well, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

This will be a spot start, and Loaisiga is not likely to go as deep as a typical starting pitcher. He has a career 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 35:15 K:BB in 30 innings as a starter and did not log more than four innings in any MLB outing in 2019.

Bolanos (ribs) will start Sunday's game at Cleveland, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.

The 23-year-old was nearly removed from the 30-man roster Saturday, yet he'll end up receiving the starting nod only a day later. Bolanos had five appearances with the Padres last season and posted a 5.95 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB over 19.2 innings. He's unlikely to remain in the starting rotation since Brad Keller and Jakob Junis could be joining the team sometime soon after getting late starts to summer camp.

Fulmer will serve as the opener Monday against the Royals, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The 27-year-old is beginning the season with workload limitations as he returns from Tommy John surgery. It's unclear exactly what those limitations are, though Fulmer reached at least three innings of live batting practice in summer camp. The Tigers haven't officially said who is expected to pitch behind the right-hander.

Thornton will start Monday's game against the Nationals, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.

The 26-year-old was able to secure a rotation spot during summer camp and will take the mound for the fourth game of the season. Thornton made his major-league debut in 2019 and had a 4.84 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 149:61 K:BB over 154.1 innings (32 appearances).

Manaea (0-1) was tagged with the loss in Saturday's 4-1 defeat against the Angels. He allowed four runs on five hits while fanning three in just 4.2 innings.

Manaea couldn't complete the fifth inning and left the contest after giving up three runs on back-to-back RBI doubles to Andrelton Simmons and David Fletcher. Manaea will attempt to bounce back in his upcoming start on the road against the Mariners on July 31.

Nelson is expected to be added to the Yankees' 30-man roster Sunday.

Nelson was unable to secure a place on the Opening Day roster at summer camp, but he'll join the big club for the third game of the season. The 24-year-old posted a 4.71 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB over 21 innings (four starts) at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season.
