Brieske (0-5) gave up two earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings Saturday against the Yankees. He took the loss.

This was a very good performance by Brieske, especially considering the offense he was up against, but he got no run support. Saturday was Brieske's best statistical start of his big-league career, and the average velocity on all of his pitches spiked compared to his season averages. He sat 94.6 mph with his fastball (94.2 mph season average) and touched 96 mph. Similarly, his changeup averaged a firmer 83.5 mph (81.1 mph season average). His next chance projects to come next weekend at home against the Blue Jays.

Holmes tossed a clean inning with one strikeout Saturday against the Tigers to pick up his eighth save of the season.

Over his last seven appearances, Holmes has six saves, 10 strikeouts and one walk over 8.1 scoreless innings. As things sit, he profiles as one of the best relievers in baseball. He has the third-lowest ERA (0.35) among qualified relievers and the fifth-lowest xFIP (2.08).

Santana sustained a left ankle contusion during Saturday's game against the Mariners, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Santana entered Saturday's matchup in the sixth inning and struck out one in a scoreless inning. However, he took a comebacker off his left ankle to close out the inning. Although he recovered to make the play, he was limping badly on his way off the field and had to be helped down the dugout stairs. The Rangers said later in the game that the right-hander didn't depart because of the injury and said that the issue doesn't appear to be serious. Santana should be considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's series finale against Seattle.

King pitched a perfect eighth inning while striking out one to pick up his seventh hold of the year in a 3-0 win over the Tigers on Saturday.

With multiple injuries in the Yankees bullpen, King appears to be the go-to setup man for closer Clay Holmes. King boasts an excellent 2.08 xFIP and Yankees manager Aaron Boone has shown confidence using him in high-leverage situations. If Holmes were to pitch on consecutive days while Aroldis Chapman (Achilles) and Jonathan Loaisiga (shoulder) remain on the injured list, King could be in line to pick up the occasional save.

Barria pitched four innings against the Phillies on Friday, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two. He did not factor in the decision.

Angels starter Chase Silseth lasted only 1.2 frames before being pulled, and Barria was asked to churn through four innings despite his own struggles. The right-hander was tagged for three homers -- including two by Bryce Harper -- and yielded multiple earned runs for only the second time this season. Barria's ERA jumped from 1.54 to 3.29 as a result of the poor outing.

Green underwent surgery to reconstruct the UCL in his right elbow Friday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington, Texas. Green will likely be out of action for 12-18 months in order to recover. He ends 2022 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB while logging a save, three holds, three blown saves and a 1-1 record across 14 relief appearances.

Barnes (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Saturday that revealed some fluid, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Barnes landed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation this week, and the Red Sox remain hopeful that the right-hander will be able to return after a minimal IL stay following Saturday's MRI results. However, a better idea of Barnes' status should come into focus once he's able to resume a throwing program.

Moll allowed an earned run on two hits and two intentional walks over two-thirds of an inning in a loss to the Red Sox on Friday. He struck out one.

Moll stumbled in the ninth inning after the Athletics had closed to within two runs in the eighth on Jed Lowrie's timely double. The left-hander has typically been much more reliable than he demonstrated Friday, but despite the hiccup, he still boasts an impressive 1.50 ERA and 1.11 WHIP to go along with a pair of victories and five holds.

Murfee (1-0) recorded his first win in a victory over the Rangers on Friday, firing a scoreless eighth inning during which he allowed a hit and recorded two strikeouts.

The right-hander turned in a strong frame to prevent the Mariners' one-run deficit from getting any larger, and he was rewarded for his efforts when Eugenio Suarez slugged a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the ninth and Paul Sewald recorded the final three outs. Murfee is putting together an outstanding rookie campaign that now sees him carrying a 1.02 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 31.8 percent strikeout rate in addition to his one win.

Feyereisen (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Saturday that revealed a bone bruise, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The right-hander was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, but it's a positive sign that he's dealing with a bone bruise rather than an issue related to the muscles or ligaments in his shoulder. A timetable for Feyereisen's return isn't yet clear, but the Rays will likely receive an additional late-inning option soon since Andrew Kittredge (back) is expected to be reinstated from the 15-day IL in the coming days.
