Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: More live hitting Thursday
Choi (hamstring) is scheduled to take live batting practice against Jose Alvarado (shoulder) at Tropicana Field on Thursday, the Associated Press reports.
Choi also took live batting practice Tuesday but didn't do much running, and it remains to be seen if he'll follow the same protocol Thursday. With the Rays now having clinched the AL East on Wednesday, they could opt to continue taking the cautious route with Choi and exclusively focus on getting the infielder ready for the postseason. Juan Toribio of MLB.com also reports Choi will test himself with what manager Kevin Cash described as "right-at-them groundballs" during the session, "just see how [his] hamstrings feel in the position of fielding a groundball and then coming up and making a throw out of that."

Kyle Lewis DH | ARI
Mariners' Kyle Lewis: Steals base in win
Lewis went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored Wednesday in the Mariners' 3-2 win over the Astros.
Lewis crossed home plate in the first to give the Mariners an early 1-0 lead and would later swipe his fourth base of the season in the seventh inning after opening the inning with a single to right. The potential American League Rookie of the Year is hitting .277/.378/.462 with 11 home runs, 28 RBI and 37 runs scored across 230 plate appearances this season.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Reds' Jesse Winker: Connects for solo homer
Winker went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Brewers.
At one point the hottest hitter in all of Major League Baseball, Winker has cooled in September, hitting .095 in 42 at-bats around a stretch of missed time due to back tightness. He's fallen in the order against righties as a result, and Winker has also sat against the left two lefties the Reds have faced.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Collects three extra-base hits
McCutchen went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two doubles and two additional runs scored during 12-3 win over the Nationals.
The veteran outfielder didn't have any opportunities with runners in scoring position despite the Phillies posting 14 hits, but he set the table as the leadoff man. McCutchen has a .250/.325/.422 slash line with nine homers, 29 runs, 33 RBI and four stolen bases in 54 games

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Vintage effort Wednesday
Cabrera went 2-for-5 with a pair of three-run home runs in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.
The 37-year-old turned back the clock in this one, supplying all of Detroit's offense on two majestic bombs to left field. This was Cabrera's second game this season with two home runs, and he now has nine total long balls for the year. Four of those home runs have come in the last eight games, so the veteran seems to be finishing his season with a flourish.

Bryce Harper 1B | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Club two homers
Harper went 2-for-2 with two solo home runs, two additional runs scored and three walks during Wednesday's 12-3 win over the Nationals.
The 27-year-old has been battling a back issue recently but was in vintage form Wednesday, hitting a pair of solo homers and being intentionally walked in his other three plate appearances. Harper has a .256/.411/.533 slash line with 13 homers, 40 runs, 30 RBI and eight stolen bases in 55 games this season.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Blasts seventh homer
Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Wednesday's 5-2 win over San Diego.
The Halos went deep three times during the second inning, and Ohtani started things off with the 415-foot, two-run shot to right center. The 26-year-old was held out of the lineup last week against a string of left-handers, but he's 3-for-12 with two homers, five runs, four RBI and three walks over his past four games.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Sitting against southpaw
Pederson isn't in Wednesday's lineup against the Athletics.
Pederson returned to action Tuesday, but he'll retreat to the bench with lefty Sean Manaea on the mound for Oakland. Chris Taylor will start in left field with Enrique Hernandez taking over at second base.
-
Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Returns to lineup
Turner (hamstring) is starting Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Turner has been limited by a left hamstring injury recently, and he was scratched from Tuesday's lineup as a result. However, he'll return to the starting lineup Wednesday, batting third and playing third base.
-
Brad Miller DH | SD
Cardinals' Brad Miller: Retreats to bench Wednesday
Miller isn't starting Wednesday against the Royals.
Miller broke out of a slump Tuesday as he reached base twice while plating a run in the win. He'll take a breather Wednesday with Rangel Ravelo serving as the designated hitter.
