The veteran slugger launched his seventh homer of the year off Yusei Kikuchi in the third inning, extending his hitting streak to eight games in the process. Martinez has already matched in home run total from 2020 in 35 fewer games, and his 1.179 OPS is almost 500 points higher than last year's performance.

Mercedes went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Friday's 9-7 win over the Rangers.

Ohtani singled and stole second base in the first inning. He later broke the 0-0 tie with his RBI double in the fifth. The 26-year-old star is slashing .294/.333/.632 with 11 extra-base hits and 14 RBI on the year.

Stanton went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's 5-3 win over Cleveland.

Stanton went deep in the third and fifth innings to provide the Yankees' last two runs of the game. The 31-year-old slugger is up to five homers, 14 RBI, seven runs scored and a .180/.254/.443 slash line across 67 plate appearances this season.

Cabrera (biceps) won't be activated from the injured list Saturday but could return for Sunday's game against the Royals, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera has been on the 10-day injured list since April 11 due to a left biceps strain, but the team was hoping he'd be able to return over the weekend. While he won't be available for Saturday's matchup, manager A.J. Hinch didn't rule Cabrera out for Sunday's series finale. Prior to his absence, Cabrera slashed .125/.222/.292 with a home run and three RBI in seven games.

Belt (quadriceps) is starting Friday's game against the Marlins, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Belt wasn't in the lineup for the last two games due to a right quadriceps strain. However, he'll play first base and bat fourth against Miami on Friday. Belt is hitting .186 with three home runs and six RBI to begin the season.

Miller was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against Colorado due to neck stiffness, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Miller was replaced by Nick Maton as the second baseman for Friday's matchup against the Rockies. It's not yet clear whether Miller will be forced to miss additional time as a result of his neck issue.

The 38-year-old has been taking batting practice throughout the week, but he's now on the cusp of being activated after facing live pitching. Cabrera was struggling to begin the season with a .514 OPS through seven games before landing on the injured list with a biceps injury.

Mercedes (foot) is batting seventh as the designated hitter Friday against the Rangers.

The 28-year-old exited Tuesday's matchup with Cleveland after fouling a ball off his left foot, but he won't end up missing any time due to Wednesday's postponement and Thursday's scheduled off day. Mercedes is enjoying a breakout start to the season with a .390/.429/.661 slash line, four homers, four doubles, 12 RBI and seven runs through 16 games.
