Martinez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 12-4 loss to the Rays.

It seems unthinkable, but Martinez's homer snapped a 35-game drought without going deep. His last home run was July 10. Even more unthinkable, it took until Aug. 28 for Martinez to reach double-digit dingers -- Sunday's blast was his 10th of the season. He's in the final year of his contract, and the Red Sox are not expected to make an effort to re-sign Martinez.

Reyes went 2-for-4 with a walk, a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-7 loss to the Brewers.

Reyes connected for his 12th home run of the season in the ninth inning. Since debuting with the Cubs on Aug. 9, the slugger is batting .280 with three long balls across 19 games. Reyes hit 30 home runs in a season as recently as last year, so he's definitely capable of providing good power production, and Chicago has been enjoying his offensive output so far. The 27-year-old could be playing himself into a prominent role with the team in 2023.

Turner went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Marlins.

Turner drove in his first run during the first inning and later added an RBI double in the ninth. It was his fifth multi-hit effort over his last seven appearances, raising his season slash line to .267/.338/.411 with 66 RBI and 36 extra-base hits through 102 games. Turner has gone 20-for-64 (.313) with 12 RBI in 16 games this month.

Ohtani went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in the Angels' 8-3 victory over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Ohtani filled the scorecard Sunday as he recorded a two-run home run to pad the Angels' lead in the sixth inning and added a couple of hits and a walk for good measure. The home run was his 28th of the season and his first since Aug. 17. The All-Star is now slashing .265/,358/.516 on the season.

Atlanta outrighted Goins to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Goins is expected to report to Gwinnett after he officially cleared waivers, a development that doesn't come as a surprise given his status as a light-hitting 34-year-old journeyman infielder. During his recent six-day stint in the majors with Atlanta, Goins didn't log a plate appearance.

Pederson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins due to a tight groin, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The lefty-hitting Pederson is usually a fixture in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but the injury explains why he's out of the starting nine while righty Aaron Sanchez takes the hill for Minnesota. Austin Slater will pick up a start in the outfield in place of Pederson, who should be viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener with the Padres.

McCutchen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

With Keston Hiura getting a look as the Brewers' designated hitter Sunday, McCutchen will retreat to the bench for the afternoon game. Since blasting three home runs over a two-game stretch Aug. 18 and 19, McCutchen has gone 4-for-29 with no extra-base hits over his subsequent seven starts.

Morel is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Morel has moved between third base and center field of late and should be locked in as an everyday player for the Cubs, but he'll retreat to the bench after going 0-for-13 with six strikeouts across his past four starts. Zach McKinstry is covering the hot corner Sunday, while Nelson Velazquez gets the starting nod in center field.

Manager Tony La Russa said Jimenez, who is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, continues to deal with soreness in his right leg, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old was removed from Friday's contest due to the same issue, and the White Sox will let him rest Sunday to give him two days off with Monday's scheduled off day. La Russa didn't rule out Jimenez playing the outfield again this season, but he could be limited to serving as the designated hitter if the leg issue continues to linger.

Canha went 2-for-3 with a double and a run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Rockies.

Canha looked to be in danger of falling into a short-side platoon role at the beginning of the month shortly after the Mets acquired Tyler Naquin, but Canha has instead solidified himself as a regular against both right- and left-handed pitching by emerging as one of the team's hottest hitters. After going 4-for-6 with three doubles to begin the weekend series with Colorado, Canha is now slashing .323/.434/.613 with 16 RBI and 13 runs over 23 games in August. He'll start in left field and bat sixth in Sunday's series finale.
