  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Mets' J.D. Martinez: Clubs third homer

Martinez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to the Giants.

The veteran DH also struck out three times, as he continues to lock in his timing at the plate following a delayed start to the season. Through 25 games as a Met, Martinez is slashing .289/.326/.456 with three homers and 10 RBI. The home run was Martinez's third from May 11 through Friday.

  • Wyatt Langford OF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Begins rehab as DH

Langford (hamstring) served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Langford kicked off a rehab assignment as the DH for the Express and batted leadoff to ensure the maximum number of plate appearances. The Rangers will probably want to see him play the field before activating him. Round Rock continues its series with games Saturday and Sunday, which could be enough to have Langford ready for Tuesday's series opener against the Diamondbacks.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Clubs another homer

Stanton went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 8-0 win over the Padres.

Stanton hit the last of the Yankees' three third-inning homers off Yu Darvish. Over the last 15 games, Stanton has gone deep seven times while adding 11 RBI and eight runs scored. He's more than doubled his homer total for the year in that span -- the designated hitter is now at 13 long balls in 2024. He's added a .246/.295/.520 slash line with 29 RBI, 23 runs scored, eight doubles and no stolen bases over 183 plate appearances.

  • Wyatt Langford OF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Beginning rehab assignment Friday

Langford (hamstring) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Langford landed on the 10-day injured list May 6 due to a strained right hamstring he sustained against the Royals on May 4. The 22-year-old may need only a couple of rehab outings over the weekend before rejoining the big club. Prior to his injury, Langford was slashing .224/.295/.293 with one home run and 11 RBI over 129 plate appearances.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Takes seat against lefty

Pederson is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins.

Pederson will get the day off with southpaw Braxton Garrett on the mound for the Marlins. Blaze Alexander will bat eighth and DH on Friday.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Slugs 12th homer

Stanton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 5-0 win against Seattle.

Stanton crushed a 445-foot solo shot to center field in the second inning to plate the first run of the contest. The homer was his 12th of the campaign, half of which have come over his past 14 contests. Over that span, Stanton is slashing .288/.327/.673 with nine RBI and seven runs in addition to the six homers.

  • Mike Ford DH | MIN

Reds' Mike Ford: Sitting against southpaw

Ford is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Ford will get the day off with lefty James Paxton on the bump for Los Angeles. Nick Martini will bat seventh and DH on Friday.

  • Wyatt Langford OF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: On cusp of rehab assignment

Langford (hamstring) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment as soon as Friday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The 22-year-old has been sidelined nearly three weeks by a strained hamstring but is in the latter stages of his rehab program. Assuming Langford is able to get in a couple games this weekend, he could rejoin the Rangers for an upcoming two-game series versus the Diamondbacks, which begins Tuesday.

  • Nick Martini DH | COL

Reds' Nick Martini: Pops game-tying homer

Martini went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Martini has started the last two games in right field, replacing Jake Fraley (hand). Prior to Thursday, Martini was stuck in an 0-for-15 drought at the major-league level, though the slump spanned a demotion to Triple-A Louisville. He snapped it with a second-inning single before tying this contest with a two-run blast in the sixth. For the season, Martini is slashing .184/.204/.356 with four homers, 17 RBI, 15 runs scored and no stolen bases across 93 plate appearances. When the Reds are closer to full health, Martini will likely compete for playing time at designated hitter with Mike Ford, who is batting .161 on the year.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Padres' Luis Arraez: Four more hits in win

Arraez went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Arraez has multiple hits in each his last eight games, going 20-for-38 (.526) with three extra-base hits in that span. The infielder played at first base Thursday, swapping places with Jake Cronenworth on the right side of the infield. Arraez is up to a .341/.382/.422 slash line with one home run, 12 RBI, 31 runs scored and three stolen bases over 226 plate appearances. He sees a majority of the playing time at the keystone due to Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) being out indefinitely and should continue to thrive atop the order for a team that has little trouble putting the ball in play.
