  • Ivan Herrera DH | STL

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Smacks two-run homer in victory

Herrera went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Athletics.

That's now two homers in as many days to open the month of September for Herrera, who has three long balls in his past five outings. The 25-year-old backstop also has an active eight-game hitting streak, during which he's batting .375 with six RBI and five runs scored. Herrera's OPS sits at a career-best .818 for the campaign as well.

  • Mike Trout DH | LAA

    Angels' Mike Trout: Scratched Tuesday

Trout was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Royals due to a skin infection.

Trout's infection will prevent him from starting Tuesday, and it's currently unclear if his absence will extend further into the Angels' series against Kansas City. Jo Adell will fill in as the Halos' designated hitter while Trout sits, opening up right field for Chris Taylor.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | SD

Padres' Ryan O'Hearn: Riding pine Tuesday

O'Hearn isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Baltimore, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

O'Hearn will get a day to rest Tuesday after going 11-for-40 (.275) with an RBI and five runs scored across his last 10 contests. His absence will allow Gavin Sheets to serve as San Diego's designated hitter while batting fourth.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Mets' Jesse Winker: Likely out for season

Manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that Winker has been shut down from all activities and will likely miss the remainder of the season, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Winker has been on the injured list since mid-July due to back inflammation. He was given the green light to begin a rehab assignment last Wednesday but was shut down after going 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in two games with Single-A St. Lucie. With time running out for the 32-year-old to return to Queens this year, it now appears that he'll shift his focus to getting ready for the start of the 2026 campaign. Winker is due to hit free agency this winter.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Getting breather Tuesday

Alvarez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

It's the second day off Alvarez has received since he returned from the 60-day injured list a week ago, as the Astros don't want to overload him following a long absence. Yainer Diaz is in the designated hitter spot and Jose Altuve is playing left field Tuesday.

  • Jared Young DH | NYM

Mets' Jared Young: Back up with big club

The Mets recalled Young from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Young has posted a .964 OPS with 15 home runs in 66 games with Syracuse this season. He's managed three more long balls in 45 plate appearances with the Mets, though he's slashing only .171/.222/.415 with a 33.3 percent strikeout rate. Young is likely to be used mostly in a pinch-hitting role.

  • Giants' Rafael Devers: Cracks 29th homer in win

Devers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Monday's 8-2 win over the Rockies.

Devers launched a solo shot off right-hander Chase Dollander in the first inning and drew a walk in the fifth before coming around to score. The 28-year-old has been on fire recently, going 12-for-23 with 11 runs scored, 10 RBI, four home runs and two doubles in 28 plate appearances over his last six outings. He's up to 29 long balls this season, slashing .264/.383/.490 with 94 RBI, 83 runs scored and a stolen base across 622 plate appearances in 139 games between San Francisco and Boston.

  • Jahmai Jones DH | DET

Tigers' Jahmai Jones: Goes deep in four-hit game

Jones went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, two RBI and two total runs scored in Monday's 10-8 loss to the Mets.

Batting first against New York southpaw Sean Manaea, Jones continued to torment left-handed pitching with his first career four-hit game. The 28-year-old now has a .913 OPS against lefties this year, and he's hit all five of his home runs in those matchups, including one to lead off the contest Monday. Jones doesn't typically play against righties, which limits his fantasy upside, but he's worth using when he has the platoon advantage.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | ATL

Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Sitting out third straight

Ozuna is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Cubs.

Ozuna will take a seat for the third straight game and for the fourth time over the past six contests. Jurickson Profar will serve as Atlanta's designated hitter, and Jake Fraley will play left field while Ozuna is on the bench. Atlanta could continue to rotate multiple players in at DH down the stretch, resulting in unsteady playing time for Ozuna.

  • Bryan Ramos 3B | CHW

White Sox's Bryan Ramos: Moves up from Triple-A

The White Sox recalled Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

The 23-year-old third baseman got his first taste of the big leagues last season, appearing in 32 games with Chicago and slashing .202/.252/.333 with three home runs, 11 RBI, 13 runs scored and a 7:22 BB:K across 108 plate appearances. He's spent the entire 2025 season at Triple-A, producing a .218/.317/.391 slash line with 14 home runs and 13 stolen bases over 392 trips to the plate. Ramos is unlikely to be in line for regular playing time with the White Sox in September, at least not right away.
