Cabrera (bicep) is in the lineup Wednesday against the Royals.

Cabrera will start at first and bat third just two days after going down with a strained bicep. Yordano Ventura will take the mound for Kansas City during Wednesday's series finale.

Jimenez's amazing offensive season has continued into the second half, as he is slashing .327/.375/.524 with four home runs and 25 strikeouts in 147 at-bats since the All-Star break.

He had a monster first half, partially propelled by a BABIP over .400, and his BABIP still sits at a lofty .401, and that needs to be noted when evaluating his season. Jimenez excels at making hard contact, and his ability to take the ball the other way has actually led to major reverse splits this year. He has a 1.006 OPS against righties and a .661 OPS against lefties, although he has logged just 115 at-bats against southpaws, so the sample size isn't large enough to make any sweeping conclusions. Jimenez is also still just 19 years old, and given his offensive prowess, he will have plenty of time to make adjustments as he moves up the ladder. The main takeaway here is that the Cubs have another special young hitter on their hands.

Vogelbach, 23, is hitting just .195/.381/.310 with two home runs in 87 at-bats with Triple-A Tacoma.

He had a .972 OPS at Triple-A prior to getting traded to the Mariners and has a .691 OPS since, although his excellent approach has still been on display. A .231 BABIP since the trade is primarily to blame for the low average, and the power will come eventually. The slow start in his new organization has essentially ruled out a promotion to the big leagues prior to September, however.

Choi is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

The 25-year-old Choi has logged all of two at-bats against lefties this season so his absence against Ariel Miranda is hardly surprising. Choi isn't getting it done against right-handed pitching, batting .165/.261/.361, and it would make sense if Nick Buss (also a lefty batter) ate into Choi's at-bats against righties moving forward.

Manager Brad Ausmus announced Tuesday that he doesn't expect Cabrera (biceps) to miss more than 2-to-3 days, Katie Strang of ESPN reports.

This is positive news all things considered after Cabrera exited Monday's game with a strained biceps. He'll miss Tuesday's lineup and very well could sit out Wednesday as a precaution, but the injury seems extremely unlikely to land Cabrera on the disabled list. Jarrod Saltalamacchia will take over at first base in place of Cabrera on Tuesday.

The Tigers will go without their best player Tuesday as Cabrera continues to recover from the biceps strain he suffered in Monday's tilt. Jarrod Saltalamacchia is set to take over in place of Cabrera at first base Tuesday. Cabrera's next chance to return to the lineup will come Wednesday, but the team has yet to comment on his availability or timetable.

Turner (hand) is in the lineup Tuesday against the Philadelphia.

Turner has missed two games with a jammed thumb, but he'll be back in action Tuesday. The Dodgers' power-hitting third baseman will be hitting third when the club faces Vince Velasquez and the Phillies.

Brantley underwent successful shoulder surgery Tuesday and is expected to make a full recovery in four months, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

Brantley was already ruled out for the season, but this report confirms there were no surprises with his surgery. He faces a lengthy recovery timetable, but if things go as planned, he should be ready to take the field when spring training begins in February.

Harper went 3-for-3 with two walks, two doubles and an RBI in Monday's win over the Rockies.

He's returned to the lineup from his neck issue with a vengeance, going 4-for-6 with three doubles and three walks over the last two games. If Harper is truly 100 percent again, don't be surprised if he goes on a tear over the final weeks of the season.

Ozuna went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Monday's 6-3 win over the Reds.

Ozuna reached the 20-homer milestone with his sixth-inning blast. The Marlins will be searching for alternative sources of offense with slugger Giancarlo Stanton (groin) out for the season, and the 25-year-old outfielder is a good candidate to provide some judging by a solid .281/.338/.488 line that represents career-bests across the board.
