Turner will bat third and play third base Wednesday against Arizona, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Turner missed the last four games last week with a hamstring issue and returned for just one game before sitting again Tuesday. Tuesday's off day was considered a maintenance day, however, and he should be able to start on a regular basis moving forward. More pre-scheduled off days should be expected in the future given Turner's age and injury history.

Dickerson was designated for assignment by the Padres on Wednesday.

This move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Miguel Diaz (knee), who was activated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday. Dickerson went just 3-for-19 (.158) with a trio of singles and two RBI in 12 appearances for the Padres before being sent to waivers.

Vogelbach entered Tuesday's loss to the Astros as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning and belted a three-run double in two at-bats.

Vogelbach's big hit came in his first plate appearance, when manager Scott Servais called on him to hit for Tim Beckham with two out and the bases loaded in the sixth inning. The left-handed slugger had been given the night off with southpaw Wade Miley on the mound for the Astros, but Tuesday's production extended a modest but welcome early June surge. Vogelbach has hit safely in three of his first four games of the month after generating just a .187 average across 104 plate appearances in May.

Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the A's.

He was the only Angel to have much success against Frankie Montas and the Oakland bullpen -- the rest of the roster combined for two hits, a walk and a HBP. Ohtani now has four homers and 16 RBI in 23 games since his return to the lineup as a hitter, but his .239/.321/.370 slash line is still lagging well behind last year's pace.

Carpenter went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Reds.

He took Luis Castillo deep to lead off the bottom of the first inning for the Cards, but that was all the offense they could manage against the right-hander. Just as he did last year, Carpenter seems to be heating up after an ice-cold start, slashing .316/.422/.632 with four homers and nine RBI in his last 12 games.

Martinez went 3-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Royals.

The three-bagger was his first of the year. Martinez is now slashing .275/.326/.600 with three homers, four RBI and seven runs through 10 games since missing some time in late May with a sore back. While solid, that stretch actually qualifies as a bit of a downturn for the 31-year-old relative to his .301/.378/.536 line for the season.

Reyes went 2-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs in a loss to Philadelphia on Tuesday.

After striking out twice in his first three at-bats, Reyes connected on solo shots in the sixth and eighth innings to bring his season homer total to 19, good for fourth in the league. Though his .251 batting average has plenty of room for improvement, Reyes is proving to be one of the premier young power hitters in baseball in only his second season in the majors.

Blackmon (calf) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment as early as Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Blackmon participated in batting practice prior to Tuesday's game against the Cubs and appears on track to head out to a minor-league affiliate in the near future, if not Wednesday. The 32-year-old has only been on the injured list since May 24 with the calf issue, so he shouldn't require a lengthy rehab assignment.

Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a double, a grand slam and five total RBI in Tuesday's 9-6 win over the Rays.

Cabrera hit a fifth-inning grand slam off Tampa Bay ace Blake Snell, which broke a 2-2 tie. It was just the third home run of the season for the veteran slugger, though he is batting a solid .293. The Tigers are being cautious with the 36-year-old and deploying him only as a designated hitter for the foreseeable hitter as he's dealt with knee soreness recently. Detroit also sent out a pinch runner for Cabrera in the seventh inning, and this could be a recurring trend moving forward as the team seeks to keep him healthy.

Turner is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Turner picked up a pair of hits in his return to the lineup Monday, but he'll get the day off to manage the sore hamstring that cost him four games last week. Manager Dave Roberts said he was only planning on resting Turner for one of the team's next two games, so Turner should be clear to rejoin the lineup Wednesday. Max Muncy gets the start at third base in Turner's place for this contest.
