  • Ryan Goins DH | KC

White Sox's Ryan Goins: Contract purchased by White Sox

Goins' contract was selected by the White Sox on Wednesday.

With a career .228/.274/.333 slash line in parts of six seasons, Goins is unlikely to fill anything other than a bench role during his time with the White Sox. He'll start his first game with the team, however, batting ninth and playing shortstop Wednesday in Kansas City. Eloy Jimenez (elbow) landed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Lands on injured list

Jimenez landed on the 10-day injured list with a right ulnar nerve contusion Wednesday.

Jimenez suffered the injury during an outfield collision with Charlie Tilson in Tuesday's game against the Royals. After initially being diagnosed with elbow soreness, he'll now miss at least 10 days with a bruised nerve. Jimenez will be re-evaluated in Chicago on Monday, but the hope is that he'll be ready to return after missing just two weeks, per Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. Tilson and Ryan Cordell are likely in line for an increased role in his absence.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Marlins' Harold Ramirez: Not starting Wednesday

Ramirez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Ramirez and Curtis Granderson have each started six of the last 12 games in left field. Ramirez's 93 wRC+ is nothing special, but it's far better than Granderson's 71 wRC+. Ramirez is also 14 years younger than Granderson, so it would make sense for the bulk of the playing time to go his way over the rest of the season, unless the Marlins are hoping Granderson will salvage a bit of trade value over the next two weeks.

  • Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Not in starting nine

Vogelbach is not starting Wednesday against Oakland, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Vogelbach has gone 2-for-12 so far in the second half. Tim Beckham will play first base, with Omar Narvaez serving as the designated hitter.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Situated on bench

Dickerson is not in the lineup Wednesday against Rockies, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Dickerson has gone 7-for-10 with three doubles and three RBI in two starts since returning from a minor back injury, but he'll retreat to the bench for Wednesday's series finale as the Giants look to ease him back into action. Austin Slater is starting in the outfield and hitting second in his place.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Returns to bench

Winker is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.

Winker missed some time earlier in the week due to side tightness, but he returned to the starting lineup Tuesday, going 0-for-3 with a walk. He'll head back to the bench Wednesday as the Reds look to ease him back into action. Derek Dietrich is starting in left field and hitting fifth in his place.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Four hits in win

Dickerson went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-4 win over Colorado.

Dickerson hasn't skipped a beat since returning from his minor back injury, going a combined 7-for-10 with three doubles and three RBI in two starts. The 29-year-old has been playing every game like he's in Coors Field since joining the Giants, slashing .400/.471/.783 with four homers and 18 RBI over 67 plate appearances. Dickerson continues to start in right field and bat in the heart of the order against right-handed starters. It would be tough to ignore this kind of production in almost any format.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Notches two hits, steals sixth base

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, an RBI, and a run scored in a victory over Houston on Tuesday.

Ohtani plated the first of six Angels runs in the first inning with an RBI single and then came around to score on an Albert Pujols double. He singled again in the next inning and proceeded to swipe second base for his sixth steal of the season. The Japanese slugger is enjoying a fine campaign at the plate, slashing .298/.354/.544 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI in 215 at-bats.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Walks off Dodgers

Harper went 2-for-3 with a home run, two walks and and five RBI in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers, including a walkoff, two-run double.

Harper crushed a 458-foot, three-run homer during the second inning and then came through in the ninth to save the Phillies after they blew the lead in the top of the frame. The former NL MVP is 6-for-19 with two doubles and a home run in the first five games out of the All-Star break.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Padres' Franmil Reyes: Delivers pinch-hit homer

Reyes went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Marlins.

Reyes was a late scratch from the Padres' lineup Tuesday for an unspecified reason. However, he seemed unhindered in his lone plate appearance late in the contest, smacking his 26th homer of the season. Still, his status for the remainder of the team's series against Miami remains unclear.
